i don't understand why the company still went with lilly for illit's fandom name. there is no way their professional team didn't do some research first, they could have avoided the backlash. it's the same for katseye fandom name "eyekons" which is confusingly similar to renowned iKON's band name. i hope the company will respect the branded name and consider changing the fandom name in this case too. #RESPECTiKON

Yeah, it’s not unheard of in Korea but it’s definitely frowned upon. Koreans don’t resent shamanism in general but they do believe it has no place in business or politics. Kind of like separation of church and state, but they actually mean it. 😅

My daughter and I are very happy to see them debuting. They are all so talented and seem very genuine (the behind the scenes interview with was fascinating) I love how their company is adapting tech to help them debut.

A little mention for BIG OCEAN's debut, the first Kpop group to have all members with varying degrees of hearing loss! They are incredible boys and I watched a mini-interview/doco about them getting ready for debut about how they had to train in a special way. It was incredible and I really hope they do well. Their debut stage was super cute and bright and cheerful and they pulled it off amazingly and also included Korean Sign Language in their choreography as well. A very special group =)
My favorite thing by a mile to come out of the Min Hee-Jin drama is finding out that there are MHJ stans. Her outfit sold out almost instantly, some knetz are saying she's like the protesters who deposed Syngman Rhee, it's so wild

I seriously hate people. Like a huge part of the reason to even have virtual idols is to protect the personal lives of the actual guys. Like if they wanted to see you in person, they wouldn't have moved to this path. They've all already done the in-person idol thing. Clearly they wanted privacy, and that should be respected, even if fans have figured out who they are from their voices. Just let them live in peace.

Honestly I don’t see much similarities between Illit and NewJeans. I’m still going to wait until everything plays out to form an opinion because you never know with these situations. I don’t like that she just names drops and brings groups like Illit, Gfriend, Rize, LSF and even NewJeans into her drama. Right now the only side I’m on is for the safety both physically, emotionally, mentally and career wise of all those idols. This whole HYBE vs Min Heejin thing is WILD. The way that Min Heejin is acting/the stuff she's saying is so odd to me - it would make you think NewJeans isn't a wildly popular and successful group. The way she keeps bringing other names and groups into it - it's just odd. I personally don't think Illit and NewJeans are that similar. Nothing to do but wait and see how it continues to unfold, I suppose. That last clip has me dead. Love the way you end every video with something super sweet or super funny. 💕
MHJ talks too much and incriminates herself in the process. HYBE just responds with a list of rebuttals that their lawyers have gone through. Min appeals to emotions while HYBE sticks to provable facts. Some of the public may side with Min but last I check, South Korea is still a country ruled by facts and the law. So who is more likely to be charged with criminal breach of trust and end up going to prison?

The whole MHJ and Hybe situation is such a mess! Outside of all of the legal matters that are still playing out, it's so upsetting all of the other groups that are getting dragged into this. I feel so bad for them because they can't go anywhere on social media without the comment sections flooded with hate and negativity. Especially Illit who just can't catch a break since their debut. And it really bothers me the "plagiarism" and "copying" label that MHJ is putting on a bunch of different groups that she is claiming to be copying her "Min Hee Jin style", which is really any "throwback 90's or 00's" inspired styles. Because I remember when I first saw New Jeans when they debuted they immediately reminded me of Baby V.O.X. from the late 90's (I mean their were times when New Jeans looked exactly like them). I thought, "Oh ok they've got a throwback vibe, this is cool". Other times they reminded me of R&B singers Aaliyah and TLC with their styles. So when she says "Min Hee Jin style", I only see "90's style". She is not the originator of those looks and New Jeans is not now the only group that can rock these looks. When someone tries to claim ownership over something that is not theirs to own, my opinion of them sours very quickly. I hope more people can understand that because it's getting really ugly and these artists don't deserve this.

I'm a shareholder with HYBE and diversifying Ador with Foreign investors sounds like a great way to boost funds and opportunities for Ador. My main concern is that it sounds like Ador are not happy with the Terms and conditions of HYBE. Given the huge invest from HYBE it seems counter intuitive. The CEO's unhinged public reaction however is gravely concerning and unprofessional so she needs to consider her future prospects elsewhere perhaps.
this is two case of fandom name steal for Hybe. aside from lilly, they annouced Katseye (under hybe USA) fandom name eyekons which has the exact same pronunciation as iKON. we've been protesting for days in twitter but met with silence. that company seriously so messed up.

Regarding the HYBE vs Min Hee Jin (MHJ) situation, if we accept the assumption that HYBE is willing to closely copy successful ideas as a way of directly competing against those ideas and the claim MHJ made that HYBE wanted to "crush" Aespa, the narrative MHJ is putting out there does come across as plausible. There are significant conceptual overlap between Aespa and Le Sserafim, whilst NewJeans is conceptually quite different from them. In which case, it aligns with their strategy to focus and debut Le Sserafim over NewJeans, even if it means postponing the latter's debut or outright sidelining them altogether. It does then make further sense that MHJ would have had to assert more influence in order for NewJeans's debut not to be delayed; which would annoy higher ups. After all, Le Sserafim and NewJeans debuted just two months apart - and it would be unusual for a single company to debut two girl groups so closely together due to the resources it takes to debut a new group and risk of one undercutting the other's media attention. Having another label create a conceptually similar group to NewJeans would then also make sense as it would align with HYBE's strategy (if our base assumption is true) and top-down approach, with the aim of sidelining/pushing out a troublesome but influential underling.

Well, hybe's statement/reasoning on not doing their promise doesn't make sense. Mhj was promised that NJ will debut first. But since they can't wait until NJ was ready, they debuted LS instead who are tired, and still preparing themselves. (Like look at what is happening to them now or even before they debuted) MHJ did the right decision to debut NJ later cause she thinks theyre not ready still, but that doesn't change the fact that HYBE did not follow their promise and debuted lesserafim first. This just mean HYBE is really in it for the money... look at what happened to lesserafim, they received various challenges even before they debuted. If only HYBE debuted lesserafim later on, maybe lesserafim will still have a complete and more prepared members. If only HYBE waited for ador for a little while more for NJ's debut. Then our dear Lesserafim wont get this much hate. But i still love Lesserafim, just not the sufferings they faced... those are real difficult to love. I get where you're coming from but MHJ broke the agreement first. NJ would've debuted first had MHJ gone with the initial plan of debuting them as SouMu group. Some of the members were handpicked by SouMu CEO. But no, MHJ wanted to have a label made for her to get full control over everything. She decided to take trainees and most of the staff out of SouMu and then move to Ador. Do you think it's that easy to create a new label and then debut a group right after? All the legal paperworks, the contracts, all the money to create a label and then invest money in the debut of group...all of this seems easy in theory but not in real life. What do you think is easier, to sign already popular idols and trainees and debut them immediately afterwards to prevent SouMu from getting screwed over even more or creating a whole new sub label with all the complications and then wait until MHJ is ready to debut them? It is definitely not feasible from a business standpoint. I'm not a fan of HYBE but MHJ has been shady her whole career. And it's totally not a new thing to see some drama unfold right before NJ comeback every single time. HYBE should've known better before signing her but they got money hungry and it's now coming back to bite them.

A little mention for BIG OCEAN's debut, the first Kpop group to have all members with varying degrees of hearing loss! They are incredible boys and I watched a mini-interview/doco about them getting ready for debut about how they had to train in a special way. It was incredible and I really hope they do well. Their debut stage was super cute and bright and cheerful and they pulled it off amazingly and also included Korean Sign Language in their choreography as well. A very special group =)
My favorite thing by a mile to come out of the Min Hee-Jin drama is finding out that there are MHJ stans. Her outfit sold out almost instantly, some knetz are saying she's like the protesters who deposed Syngman Rhee, it's so wild

The whole MHJ and Hybe situation is such a mess! Outside of all of the legal matters that are still playing out, it's so upsetting all of the other groups that are getting dragged into this. I feel so bad for them because they can't go anywhere on social media without the comment sections flooded with hate and negativity. Especially Illit who just can't catch a break since their debut. And it really bothers me the "plagiarism" and "copying" label that MHJ is putting on a bunch of different groups that she is claiming to be copying her "Min Hee Jin style", which is really any "throwback 90's or 00's" inspired styles. Because I remember when I first saw New Jeans when they debuted they immediately reminded me of Baby V.O.X. from the late 90's (I mean their were times when New Jeans looked exactly like them). I thought, "Oh ok they've got a throwback vibe, this is cool". Other times they reminded me of R&B singers Aaliyah and TLC with their styles. So when she says "Min Hee Jin style", I only see "90's style". She is not the originator of those looks and New Jeans is not now the only group that can rock these looks. When someone tries to claim ownership over something that is not theirs to own, my opinion of them sours very quickly. I hope more people can understand that because it's getting really ugly and these artists don't deserve this.

There's a conspiracy theory that whenever big drama happens in the kpop world, there's something that the Korean government wants to cover up. Okay, now I sound crazy. But for real, why would this Min Hee Jin want to leave HYBE? It would be nearly impossible, she'd HAVE to know she'd not only fail but possibly get sued and lose everything.

She can walk away anytime she wants. That is not the issue. She wants to walk away with company property. That is the issue.
She was basically doing a hostile take over of Adore. She was trying to buy out stocks so she would own it rather than just being the CEO. All with HYBE money not her own, which is where the breach of trust HYBE is taking her to court with. She asked PD Bang to set up a new company for her gg, so he did which is Adore. She asked to be CEO and have total control of the company which he did. Now she's trying to take the company away, and he feels betrayed. She keeps having these press conferences portraying the victim, with crying and dragging other artists into this mess. While HYBE is just stating the facts. Bringing other groups into this mess reeks of misdirection makes me trust HYBE version over hers for now.

I'm a shareholder with HYBE and diversifying Ador with Foreign investors sounds like a great way to boost funds and opportunities for Ador. My main concern is that it sounds like Ador are not happy with the Terms and conditions of HYBE. Given the huge invest from HYBE it seems counter intuitive. The CEO's unhinged public reaction however is gravely concerning and unprofessional so she needs to consider her future prospects elsewhere perhaps.

Regarding the HYBE vs Min Hee Jin (MHJ) situation, if we accept the assumption that HYBE is willing to closely copy successful ideas as a way of directly competing against those ideas and the claim MHJ made that HYBE wanted to "crush" Aespa, the narrative MHJ is putting out there does come across as plausible. There are significant conceptual overlap between Aespa and Le Sserafim, whilst NewJeans is conceptually quite different from them. In which case, it aligns with their strategy to focus and debut Le Sserafim over NewJeans, even if it means postponing the latter's debut or outright sidelining them altogether. It does then make further sense that MHJ would have had to assert more influence in order for NewJeans's debut not to be delayed; which would annoy higher ups. After all, Le Sserafim and NewJeans debuted just two months apart - and it would be unusual for a single company to debut two girl groups so closely together due to the resources it takes to debut a new group and risk of one undercutting the other's media attention. Having another label create a conceptually similar group to NewJeans would then also make sense as it would align with HYBE's strategy (if our base assumption is true) and top-down approach, with the aim of sidelining/pushing out a troublesome but influential underling.
Maybe if the so called fans weren’t so toxic then Renjun wouldn’t have anxiety and have to be treated for it. When are these fans going to realise how damaging and toxic they are

Well, hybe's statement/reasoning on not doing their promise doesn't make sense. Mhj was promised that NJ will debut first. But since they can't wait until NJ was ready, they debuted LS instead who are tired, and still preparing themselves. (Like look at what is happening to them now or even before they debuted)
MHJ did the right decision to debut NJ later cause she thinks theyre not ready still, but that doesn't change the fact that HYBE did not follow their promise and debuted lesserafim first. This just mean HYBE is really in it for the money... look at what happened to lesserafim, they received various challenges even before they debuted. If only HYBE debuted lesserafim later on, maybe lesserafim will still have a complete and more prepared members.
If only HYBE waited for ador for a little while more for NJ's debut. Then our dear Lesserafim wont get this much hate. But i still love Lesserafim, just not the sufferings they faced... those are real difficult to love.

She decided to take trainees and most of the staff out of SouMu and then move to Ador. Do you think it's that easy to create a new label and then debut a group right after? All the legal paperworks, the contracts, all the money to create a label and then invest money in the debut of group...all of this seems easy in theory but not in real life.
What do you think is easier, to sign already popular idols and trainees and debut them immediately afterwards to prevent SouMu from getting screwed over even more or creating a whole new sub label with all the complications and then wait until MHJ is ready to debut them? It is definitely not feasible from a business standpoint. I'm not a fan of HYBE but MHJ has been shady her whole career. And it's totally not a new thing to see some drama unfold right before NJ comeback every single time. HYBE should've known better before signing her but they got money hungry and it's now coming back to bite them.
