I just changed my compressor and man it was so easy i dont why mechanic charge an average of 250 t0 300 dlls for one hour of work. Thank u body your video was helpful
Have seen other videos and you were the most informative... More lighting.. you had clear view.. but I needed more information.. heater drier.. removal and replacement...
This video helped a lot, I just replaced one for a customer. On the tensioner you can use a 17mm socket which I found easier to maneuver that that 45 star bit on the tensioner, almost stripped it 😬lol
A few extra pointers: 1. Pay a professional to remove the refrigerant. This guy's method is illegal and still releases the refrigerant into the atmosphere. 2. Do NOT use the star-hex key to loosen the pulley holding the serpentine belt. There is a bolt ABOVE that pulley that you will turn to move that pulley and loosen the serpentine belt. 3. NEVER assume there is proper compressor oil in the compressor. Drain the oil from the compressor and refill. This particular Nissan generation take 4.19 oz of compressor oil.
The exact amount of pag 46 oil is actually 4 oz . But I do agree with using the 17mm instead of 45 hex. Nice advice tho. Thx 👍. And Also you should replace serpentine belt if it's 50k miles or over.
I was just told today that it would be over a $1000.00 to replace my compressor. So sad I guess it is going to be air 240 for me. Thank goodness I have a sunroof to allow a little more airflow LOL . Thank you for the video.
I was told after buying my own parts it would be 615 for labor to put it in. What the hell for something that takes 30 mins 😳 ain't no way they tried it
Theres a 17mm bolt on top of the tensioner pulley, recommend using that instead of t45 bolt. Too much pressure on t45 bolt can cause it to strip and break pulley.
@@jamilavahobova874 check if it's a 1 wire or two wire hookup. Depending on the kind I can send you a link to buy a fairly cheap one on ebay. Theres also a model number on your old one.
Man, it’s a great helpful video and I’m planning to apply it on my 16 Altima. But I have a question: did you need to flush the system before putting the new compressor?
Hello I have an A/C issue with my 2010 Altima. Compressor clutch stays engaged all the time and the A/C does not cool down enough, just very little bit. There is A/C gas inside. I can not find the A/C compressor relay. Have any idea I can check and fix?
Firestone is trying to charge me 1600 (1800 now since they charge me 2x for vacuum and rechsrge with freon if i dont get it fixed through them same day) and thats for *compressor, *condenser, *receiver dryer, *extension valve. I know that is overpriced but i wasnt approved for credit card through them so i need to find out how to do it myself i guess. Southern Ga here
I got the new compressor. Tried to drain the oil. Like a thimble full came out. I turned the compressor both ways while trying to empty it. Put in the required amount of oil, once again turning the compressor. It would not hold it all. It started coming out the high pressure side.
Absolutely. I bought the whole kit with compressor, condenser and drier and evap valve with o-rings brand new for $350. It only costs a little more to do it right but more than double to do it over.
Not supposed to. If you are licensed by law it has to be recovered. But what are you to do if your system has already yeeted all it's refrigerant into the stratosphere? Mine did so I didn't feel bad doing my own repairs. This is why shops charge so much for the service. They have to cover their licenses and overhead. I get it. I also think owners reserve the right to repair. In Australia you cannot buy refrigerant without a license. I have heard of LPG being used. There was also a product called "HYCHILL" you could buy without a license. But this is America so no need to worry about any of that.
Between 25 to 45 on the low side and about 150 to 300 on the high try keep the low side in the mids of 25 to 45 try not to worry about the high side that much only load it from the low side
My 2016 has had the compressor changed 2x and it needs it again. The dealership did it with the vehicle warranty. Now that it’s over 100k I don’t think they’ll do it again. I do have lifetime power train with the dealership I bought the vehicle at. But again I don’t think the the ac is covered
@@texasbootboy8292 mine a 2015 Altima with 80,000 I bought the car at 49,000 miles on it and now it needs a ac compressor .. they said I got a warranty but it doesn’t cover the a/c .. This sucks lol but if my car needs a/c compressor like yours 3 times after I changed it .. i would be mad and probably would try to get rid of it lol or unless you use your a/c a lot ?
Great video helped me a lot today with my ‘16 Altima. I spent more time removing the undercarriage to avoid breaking any of the clips.

Great video man. If I had hoses and a vacuum pump I could do this. I know from watching I can remove a compressor and install another one. Great job!

The T45 was easier for me to get to you have to have the perfect 17mm and socket to get in that tight space.

If the belt is bad you can go ahead and change it

The condenser and expansion valve. Don't forget to replace the o-rings.
I change the compressor and condenser, slightly colder but still not icy Im stumped🤔???...
Change the expansion valve and make sure you vacuum the ac system good
Are you not gonna change the filter dryer?
I have the same question

Buy parts of ebay or Amazon then find local mechanic

Will a 2015 Altima’s compressor fit my 2014 ?
How long take to you to done the job
Is it the same process for the Nissan maxima? I need to replace my air compressor
Does the 2016 ac compressor fit in a 2013 version?
Will the 3.5 work on a 2.5 nissan?
what model is that s-sv-sL ..???
How do I find out which ac compressor to get for my Nissan Altima 2016?
Same. I can’t get an exact number.
What will happen if I don't valcum out the air line
Will have moisture in the system. Not good.
Wouldn't it be easier to access underneath?
Thank you.
Quisiera saber dónde tiene el taller para que me reparé el aire

Where the ac expansion valve is located in that car?
On the firewall chase the line it will take you to it
Are we going magt 🎉
What oil are you talking about adding to the compressor?
Ac compressor oil you need it when you changing your compressor
Dullah Goso hard ok thanks for the info
Usually P46 a/c compressor oil.
Jaime Mondestin thanks
How much freon do we need to add?
Did you find out how much?
Wow, I thought everyone knew it has to come out the top! Remove alternator.
Impressive video!
Yaadman style.
Yo bredren you didn't need to do all of that. You could have access the compressor if you removed front passenger side wheel.
Do u have to Vacuum in the line out
Not really but it's always good to vacuum it out if you can
What was wrong with the old compressor?
it didn't work
