As much as ive done this with several of my cars....at this time in my life, im not sure i want to use half of a day to replace oem lamps, lol. Ima see if a detail shop can just clean them up when i get my interior done. I have definitely gotten lazy with working on my cars myself lol. Carry on mate!
Hey man only thing I do on my cars typically are just oil changes unless it’s something I feel I can tackle in less than a couple hours. I’ve never done this before and it only took a couple hours. I’m just some guy who works in retail so if I can do this anyone can. Just make sure you mark where all the bolts and things go because I was left with 5 extra lol. I did this after trying to buff the headlights and it didn’t help. This was the last resort.
I also want to mention there was a recall for the oem headlights. You can't just buff them sometimes. The reflective surface inside the headlight deteriorates over time from the heat of the bulb. Oftentimes, the only option is to replace the whole assembly. If just buffing the oem lens works, I'd be surprised.
Hey man, thanks so much for the video! My head lights are so dim that if someone is driving towards me, I can barely see the road! It's time for me to change the housing assembly and this video does a great job showing how easy, albeit time consuming, it is to change them. So, again, thank you so much for the detailed and very easy to understand/follow instructions! I hope life's been good to you and that you're doing well.
Thank you for sharing this man! My neighbors front RH headlight is cracked, and they’re both super cloudy so I’m gonna replace both of them for her. This video is helping me help someone else🙏 This is why I freakin love UA-cam! Hope you have an awesome day!🤘
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Just changed my daughter’s headlights out, I’m hoping these new lamps will help increase brightness compared to the stock ones.
2 tips for those doing this. 1. There’s a curved plastic piece that needs removed inside hood at lamp assembly when he struggles pulling the bumper off. 2. Watch whole video first, there are two screws initially told to remove that hold alignment piece in bumper that shouldn’t be. Whole process took about 2 hours. Not too bad for saving $1000
Is it possible to replace a cracked headlight lens(driver’s side)on a 2015 Sentra without having to replace the entire assembly??? The turn signal & headlight works fine, but moisture is getting in the lens because of a slight crack
@ Ik but I went and took a look at mine for gits and shiggles and they really didn’t leave a single access port to change the SOB 😭 I’m gonna have to borrow an angle grinder or some really sharp bolt shears
You don't need to take the bumper off to do that. Turn your tire facing outwards, pull out a few pins on the wheel well cover. Just enough so you can reach your hand in there and replace the bulb.
I hope I didn’t buy the parts for nothing some guy in a Altima group told me I need to buy plug and play parts others my fast blinking could be a resistance thing .. man I hope not ..

I understand. It was faster for me to replace them than to buff them out.
@BackyardGarage1 yea...I'm honestly leaning towards just making the time to do this, it is better.
@@lbmautos I think it took about an hour and a half.

It might be possible but I have never seen just the lens for sale
I would just buy a whole new one bc u might waste money just buying lens
Can I have the link to your headlight ? Is it LED light ?
I don’t have the link anymore.
Is that a 1/4 inch electric ratchet.?
It’s a 3/8”
@BackyardGarage1 thanks and I like your 77 camaro.
I subscribed
Awesome thank you so much!
Gotta take the entire engine out in order to change a lightbulb
Transmission too! It’s not a super hard job though.
😂
Man I just need to replace the bulb in mine before I get a ticket, I got words for you Nissan😭
This is not the bulb this is the whole assembly

Damn Nissan smart .. make it annoying to do it yourself so you have to take it in for service
Yep… gotta make a buck when they can.

@@Burns64363I hope it works for you!
@@Burns64363did you replace the bulbs with LEDs? If so you might need a resistor as LEDs require more resistance to flash correctly.
@@BackyardGarage1 I still waiting for it to come from amazon.. this would suck lol
A crappy design.
For sure 😮
They made it so difficult
Yeah they did. But to be honest, it’s not too bad
This is crazy, you have to take the bumper off to get to replace the light!!!!!
Yeah it’s not too bad though
Not the bulb you can through the wheel well but the headlight assembly if your projector or lens is yellow oxidized or clogged
😅 😮😮😮😮😅
what a pain in the ass just to replace a turn signal bulb i will live without it
The bulbs are easy. This is the whole assembly
@@BackyardGarage1This is needed to replace the t/s bulbs on my Honda Ridgeline. The headlight bulbs are easy , the t/s bulbs are a two hour job.
@ ugh engineers need to do something about that
I just had this done at the dealership. I don't even want to talk about how much it cost. Ridiculous!!
I call em the “Stealership” I get it being a mechanic myself but my goodness, it’s just insane!
I just got a quote of $1600
bro you can just remove the battery smh
For the headlight assembly on the passenger side? LOL
I just watched a female change the same light. Without all of the parts being detached. 40 second video. Wtf dude. Waste of time..😅😅😅
I promise you she did not replace the entire headlight assembly in 40 seconds. A bulb maybe
