Friend of mine just got quoted $2,700. It's always an expensive job if you pay a mechanic shop to do it. Part only costs around $170. Labor markup on a compressor replacement is insane.

I got quotes ranging from $175-300 for just labor....$300 a real garage 175 a mobile mechanic.
