Everyone is surprised that the northerners are mad, it's been very clear since season 1 that the northern ppl would rather die then bend the knee to a Targaryen, it's only plot armor and rewriting characters that's kept it this tame, realistically every northern and vale lord would either leave like Glover, or declare for Sansa. Plus, the wall fell because Daenerys lost a dragon north of the wall, she lost the dragon saving the wight retrieval party, that party existed to get proof because Dany didn't want to lose land to cersei (she cared about being queen first). Also, the murder of highborn prisoners (sams family) is a BIG deal in westeros, that's what the mad king did (killing neds father and brother).

Also, House Glover basically volunteered to die over help from Dany, and they're supposed to be one of the more reasonable houses, so the other houses should have just as if not more extreme reactions.
Plus Jamie wouldn't realistically survive one day in Winterfell in his own identity. Some commoner is bound to put an arrow through his heart or run up to him out of nowhere and stab him after everything he and his family did to the Northerners and especially for throwing the son of Ned Stark from the top of a tower.
All the viewers that want everyone to get along need to remember that there is a a long dark BLOODY history between the Starks, Lannisters, and Targaryens. It's kinda like asking the Black Panthers and KKK to join forces to fight the night king, they'll do it but there will be tension and friction
Pretty much. Also annoying everyone is shitting at Sansa for putting her family first when moments later Arya does the exact same thing. But Sansa's the only one who catches shit for it.
They tend to be the same people who criticise Sansa and the Northern Lords who rightfully question why Jon gave away their sovereignty to a foreign Queen they know nothing about. That she’s a Targaryen only adds insult to injury since, as you point out, the Starks and Targaryens have a long and bloody history, and the North’s independence from Southern rule was hard won and paid for with many lives. Let’s not even get into the fact that Jon didn’t have to do any of that. Despite what he told the Northern Lords about choosing between his crown and the North, Dany vowed to fight with Jon BEFORE he bent the knee. He gave away the North not to secure a military alliance but because he had a boner for Dany and maybe some misplaced guilt because she lost one of her dragons. They also tend to be the same people who criticise the political aspect of these scenes, as if the history of the Seven Kingdoms means nothing to the people living inside them. It’s hypocritical to complain that there are bigger things to worry about than political discussions while also being fine with the fact that Jon and this stranger Queen (who proclaims herself Queen every five seconds but apparently that’s not political?) can take time away from leadership and war preparations and earning the North’s respect to re-enact scenes from How To Train Your Dragon and cosy up by a waterfall. Like, you can’t have it both ways.
I can't get the visual out of my head of the White Walkers pulling up to Winterfell with snow cones in their hands, and The Night King is nonchalantly sipping a large Slurpee while wearing shades.
Dany acknowledges there is valid reason why her father was called the Mad King. When Brienne (and Bran) vouches for him on his reasons for killing him, Dany would understand, I think. What he did to Bran was more unforgivable because it was for a selfish reason (his and Cersei's secret), but Bran would not hold it against him now, with everything that's happened and going to happen.

19:15 the patterns that the Walkers make is the symbol the Night King was created in. In S6, when Bran sees the creation of the Night King, there is an overhead shot where the Wierwood tree is in the center and there are stones that make the spiral, swirling shape around it. Night King adopted that as a symbol
I know Jon could've forgotten by now but Arya named Needle in front of him. Did she really need to say that. Hell Jon coulda simply said "ah yes Needle" or something. Whatever a small hiccup in a great scene. Probably my favorite scene in the premiere👍

tbf, bronn has never made any big decisions without money exchanging hands. a lot of people might think he's the merc with a heart of gold. but he hasn't actually done anything big out of kindness like the hound lol. bronn has to at least take a shot at one of the brothers and maybe miss by accident and he gets found out and they pay him more. but to just not take the shot because they are "bros", is imo not in character with bronn.

The wall could be manned by 10,000 fighters, and was made to be a 7000 foot high magic defense wall to specifically keep out the walkers and their dead army. Instead of that, they face a dead army without anti walker magic in the open field in the winter
