THOUGHT you heard it all about the RWC 2023 FINAL? THINK AGAIN...

- Former All Black coach, Ian Foster, has come out and said that players were deliberately wasting time during games at last years world cup with reference to the final v Springboks.
I admire Rugby, all of it. If you find a way to win games that suits you, then play that way. No1 team or coaches should be closed into playing/coaching a certain style of play. One size does not fit all....
What are your thoughts on this?

Funny how Richie McCaw became a NZ hero by doing the exact same thing. Ian Foster is just sour because he got outsmarted by better coaches.
He sure was outsmarted his team playing 70min with 14 men and losing by one point
The world has moved on. Ian Foster should do the same.
When the ABs win - rugby is great. When they lose - there's something wrong with rugby itself. It's quite tiresome honestly.
Does that mean Kolbe is intentionally speeding up the game?
The Haka is deliberately cringing the game. Stop it. Its boring.
Can’t agree with you there. I love the Haka😅
@@KickOnRugby not when jason momoa does it on a red carpet or bunch of chiefs do it. It’s been diluted. I thought it was a spiritual sacred war dance or something. They’ll br doing at Disneyland soon
@@71bootneck i see your point for sure
AB's past masters of slowing down set pieces and penalty kicks. Cant keep on changing the game to suit the AB's
Quite accurate saying that time is wasted so much in rugby with tmo reviews through out the games. Maybe he should be complaining about that rather than blaming the Boks as this is getting old now.
The number one issue they have with South Africa is that we can replace our starting pack of forwards with a fresh pack of world-class forwards. 😅😅
Loooosers will always find an excuse, long live Springboks23, best group of rugby worriers ever.
Bokke Bokke💪
Second. Best being 2011-15 ABs.
Learn how to spell before you post or use spelling check....
Such a typical arrogant comment from a sa supporter.nothing great about this team.they beat a AB team that started the WC ranked 5th lost to France in WC opener and were defeated in WC final by one point playing 70min with 14 men
Any team has the right to play as they wish, it's called tactics. Foster has become an embarrassment to All Black rugby. Scott Robertson will bring them back to where they should be. It is out and out arrogance for him to decide how other teams should play.
Think about it for longer than second and Foster's position on time wasting is ludicrous. He is underrating the rugby fan.
The last three BOK games of the 23 RWC were extolled as 'classic', the 'best game of rugby football ever,' 'spectacular' and 'what a comeback!'
All three were played differently by the Boks - brains, pace, aerial against the French, 'brute strength, route 1, team depth' against the Poms and 'interrupting the ABs flow' and PSDT against the ABs ...
World Rugby are pocketing the coin, players are finally being paid what they're worth.
Maybe PSDT gave Fossie PTSD?
That last line🤣
Ffs Foster. Grow up. You've got free time now, go teach 7's. Maybe speed up your thinking too - if your opposition is "slowing down the game" then focus on YOUR team to speed it up. Best one wins. Ou suurgat.
Agreed. Need to worry about your own team…
LOL. Hahahaha. Sour grapes.
Translation : It’s not fair. They aren’t playing our style of rugby.
LOL!!
When New Zealand can't win a World Cup they don't try and get better, they instead want the whole game to change. New Zealand ruined super rugby with this mindset. I'm tired of these constant rule changes.
Im 2,10mt tall. I played as a lock which to me was probably the most painful position in the scrum. people who had never played rugby before will never know who fantastic rugby is also how painful it could be at times
I wish the New Zealand pundits would stop thinking their way of playing rugby is the World Standard. No (mate) LOL. There are many ways of playing. Stop whining and play the game.
100%. That’s the beauty of this game💪
Stop worrying about the opinion of the odd pundit.
Last years WC is old news in NZ now. Literally no one takes about it.
Yet, a penalty kick was missed from the Ab's and now it's on SA... But let's not be too logical.
Ja, sour grapes. Never thought that the AB's would ever be sore losers. All they are doing is trying to change the rules of the game to make up for their own failings and to get an advantage.
Get it right, thats Ian foster words not the AB
Highest-paid Rugby players in the world 2024
Owen Farrel - £1.2m per season.
Finn Russell (Bath) - £1million
Maro Itoje (Saracens) - £850,000
Dan Biggar (Toulon) - £800,000
Antoine Dupont (Toulouse) - £700,000
Handre Pollard (Leicester Tigers) - £610,000
Who has a RWC Medal? How much do they get paid?
Do you guys think there is a slight Bias going on here?
Of course it was. Whether it was wrong or right doesn't matter. It was a tactic and everyone employed it to a different degree. If people watched that world cup and just thought the caterpillar tunnel for box kicks was just used for creating safety for the kicker, then they were not actually watching.
Every team in the world slows a game down when they are a man down or in the lead and trying to close the game out. Suur drol
100% agreed
Get over it Foster. You lost! You lost! You lost! With a better coach New Zealand could have won with a better coach.
If we needed to slow the game down to win the World Cup, then it was a great tactic.
The all blacks lost the final long before the final. They the best team in the world without a doubt but they lost for one reason only disspline was lacking unfortunately this was also evident at the Twickenham maccercre there proffesional fouls and lack of discipline was so real .That is a bad reflection on the coacking staff
Muster fans seem to be the only ones that has a problem with it,
Its a bit dishonest to say it was a year ago. He is the former coach if the current coach said this it would be a big story. Yes teams play in different ways. But the ball in play time stat doesnt lie across the tournament SA like a slow game.
From Ireland.
And that’s what I love about Rugby. Teams have different styles of playing it. Some like it quick, some like it fast. Makes for good games when the different styles clash
He wasn't whining when they done it to Ireland aided and abetted by a client ref.
Fozzie must just drink his lemon juice and eat his sour grapes without taking it out on the boks
Ok, we’ll speed it up a bit in 2027.
If the all blacks want a fast game they should play faster, Each team play according to their strengths, there should be place for all type of games not just the all blacks version
Agreed!!
Let's talk abt all their tries that was forward passes in the world cup.and the one in the final
I just rewatched the final and it was very fast paced, especially the first half, not sure what he is going on about.
Just when certain things don’t suit someone. They react…
Of the four episodes of Chasing the sun, where we were exposed to all the tactics the Boks used, I don’t recall Rassie or Jacques telling players to deliberately slow the game down. So Forsie needs to take the L and move on.
Agreed!!
If only his kickers slotted their kicks hey…
I mistakenly thought the English were the biggest moaners but it has always been the Kiwis
Different teams plays different wayz, we all cant change everyone and everything just so that one team can win, and if they dont they moan and try to change the game..........@NZ pundits
Styles make fights. We don't want to see everyone playing the same brand of rugby. It'll get very boring very quickly
Exactly right!! Why this game is so good
Yeah he can go to rugby league then
Funny, want the rules to suit them... We don't like the red card for head high tackles, we don't like you to kick. We don't like the scrums. we don't like mauls. Change the rules to suit me!
The facts are the playing time of rugby was 27 minutes in that World Cup final.
That is unacceptable. The average playing time where is ball is in play in Rugby League is 75 minutes.
That is why we losing our fan base to rugby league in Australasia.
Water boys need keep off the park.fake injuries are very annoying.Scrums need to be set faster.
Line outs need to be formed faster. These all things that are slowing our game.
De Klerk should be penalised for not putting ball in that last scrum. The Bomb squad was getting hiding in scrums by the All Blacks.
This is why De Klerk was in no hurry put the ball in.
What the hell comparing a bunch of 5,7ft guys running with the ball non stop to a game where tactics are involved, well done
Rugby League is a totally different game. That’s why not many players can successfully switch between the two. Scrums and Lineouts are non existent in League where in Rugby they are major parts of the game. If we try speed them up or change the laws to speed them up they will soon become redundant and so will certain shapes of players. Big props and tall locks won’t be needed and more fit players will be picked. That’s not Rugby mate
@@KickOnRugby South Africans don’t understand.Because there is no Rugby League in South Africa.
The French, the Irish and the All Blacks play a fast entertaining game.
The Springboks like a slow game with lots of scrums and line outs.
Under current rules of Super Rugby the ball in play has increased to 37 minutes.
Rugby doesn’t need to be negative and kick clap.
Rugby league the most boring game invented by mankind
@@AffectionateMountainRang-xv8gv I am not Rugby League fan.But I can see it is very entertaining.
It is big in Australasia. The Television viewing figures are bigger than Rugby in Australia.
The game is really growing in New Zealand especially in Auckland.
So Rugby needs to be entertaining to compete with Rugby League.
This is why you were Fired from your position
Ooop there it is…😅
Why do NZ think the whole world should play their way?
🏆🏆🏆🏆
Game is already slowed down when the AB have the opportunity to do the Haka and psych themselves up when the other teams stand and watch. Get over themselves. I know it is before the whistle, but still.
I love the Haka though
New Zealand better be careful about "running rugby". Rassie will release the "Bolt-squad" on them. SA has plenty of Usain Bolts in it's population.
Very true black SA are showing they are far more better n talented than there white players
What's wrong with these guys recently it was France coach now Foster should we provide counseling as well?
What happened to " We lost to a great team we would try again mate". Rugby is the only game with so many rule changes if you hate scrums go play NFL case closed.
Or Rugby league…
What's weird is all these videos and comments from SA fans trying to find sour grapes. Foster is right, the game is getting slow, it's a bit of an issue, that takes nothing away from SA deservedly winning the cup. Get over yourselves.
Wasn’t really trying to find anything… it was all over social media. I don’t think the game is getting slow. There is no other way to speed up the game. Rugby is Rugby. A few laws can be changed to make it more exciting or engaging but we really can’t speed up the game anymore without taking out vital parts of the game…
DITCH THE HAKA TO INCREASE GAME TIME!!?
Before every game opponents have to WAIT for the All Blacks to perform the HAKA. For the sake of increasing game time Ian can ditch the haka
Please don’t. Haha. I love the Haka
Hey everyone, I wanted to take a moment to express my deep appreciation for the beauty and uniqueness that the Haka brings to the game of rugby. As a South African fan, it's a moment that sends chills down my spine and sets the stage for an incredible display of athleticism and sportsmanship.
Rugby, unlike any other sport, embraces players of all shapes and sizes. From the lightning-fast backs to the towering forwards, there's a place on the field for everyone. It's this inclusivity that makes rugby so special to me.
However, I can't help but feel concerned about recent discussions of changing the rules of rugby to favor a faster-paced, more "entertaining" game. While I understand the desire to attract new fans and increase game time, I worry that these changes could strip away the very essence of what makes rugby unique.
By catering solely to a style of play that favors speed and agility, we risk alienating the big, powerful forwards who bring their own brand of excitement to the game. It would be like removing the Haka from rugby for the sake of "creating more game time" - sacrificing tradition and cultural significance for the sake of so-called progress.
Rugby is more than just a game; it's a celebration of diversity, tradition, and resilience. Let's not lose sight of what makes this sport truly special. Let's continue to embrace the Haka and all that it represents, and let's ensure that rugby remains a sport for players of every shape, size, and skill set.
Still crying
Ian Foster failed miserably, if Joe Schmidt had not come to the rescue the AB's would not have made the final, who wants to see everyone playing league style rugby, if Foster wants to turn Union into League, then perhaps he needs to just f-off to the dark-side
ian who?
Ian show class and stop winging like an insecure child.
If foster want speed he must go coach rugby league
100%
Suurpoes
🤣🤣🤣
Just stop the clock at scrums, problem solved.
Games might go as long as NFL games then🤣
Soar Grapes. He will always be known for such bad sportsmanship. What a loser!!
Old news
He is trying to stay relevant. Now he is making a fool of himself.
He’s kinda doing a great job in staying relevant🤣
Rassie will keep on outsmarting the world rugby and New Zealand is gonna keep on mourning untio when? You missed a kick and you lost by one point stop acting all grumpy there's more to come
More to come. Love that💪
Mourning lol,japan haven't since WC 2015
