I am incredibly proud of my beloved Boks for the 80 minutes of heart stopping, edge of your seat, adrenaling overdose they gave us. I suspect that my heart flatlined last night and my body is just waiting to catch up. But I am much more proud of them for their conduct in the aftermath. Usually the two teams line up, walk past each other and shake hands. Not this time. The French were spent physically and emotionally and to see our boys walk up to them, guving them hugs and words of encouragement. Look at Duane. Look at Siya. Look at all of them. They knew that this one would hurt and they went and consoled the men that they just went to war with. This is why this is truly the beautiful game.
@@ntatemohlomi2884 I would consider myself a football fan (to be fair, I tuned out after United started sucking in the wake of Fergie's retirement) but the diving, 0-0 scorelines, the diving, the players swarming the ref, the diving, the acting like they were injured and lastly the diving is what kind of turned me away from the sport. Up until the 60th minute I thought we were going home as South Africa. The French brought their A game & left it all on the field. This was a war, I could not believe the way France systematically broke down our defense in the opening minutes for the first try. There was no room for second guess all opportunities had to be taken & the man who embodied that was Cheslin Kolbe, my goodness!! Cheslin blocking Ramos's kick is what saved South Africa. Also have to acknowledge Jesse Kriel's work & Eben showed up for us big time. Many other teams would have been buried if they went against this French team but South Africa is the world champion for a reason. This was one of the best rugby weekends ever, we'll be talking about this weekend for years. This French team is good. And young. The important thing now is to use this defeat constructively to build something thats better. Feel the pain and then park it away somewhere and come out having put it to good use. In 4 years time they will be formidable. Well played from SA.
This one tough to take honestly. I am not saying we’ve lost because of the ref but the referring wasn’t totally clean. You know it I know, we’ve all seen the same things. And it’s more painful to lose by 1 point difference with some shaky decisions. I would have preferred to get our asses spanked and to lose fair and square. That said massive congratulations to the boks they played really really well.
@@arno222444irony is that other countries always say that south africans are always complaining how refs effect the game too much. As if it is some excuse of somesort. They still say it after they win. The reffing issues are a real thing and not just because your team lost. Another example is the 2 french head impact tackles on south african attackers that didn't get called either. There was a forward pass from south africa, even though it didn't lead to a try, it was still a forward pass and should of been called. World Rugby are picking and choosing what to call. xWorld Rugby supervisors looked into the meeting between Fabien Galthié's men and the Springboks. After reviewing and analyzing this quarter-final, they identified three decisions by the New Zealand referee to the disadvantage of the French XV. First in the 17th minute, there is the dangerous clearance in a ruck by Pieter-Steph Du Toit. The South African third row dove forward with his shoulder, hitting Jonathan Danty in the face. According to World Rugby representatives, this action should have led to a yellow card for the Springbok number 7. Cheslin Kolbe at fault When the second French try was converted (22nd minute), Thomas Ramos had his shot blocked by Cheslin Kolbe. After reviewing the footage, World Rugby supervisors ruled that the South Africa winger had left his goal line too early. The French kicker should have tried this transformation again. Finally, Ben O'Keeffe awarded a decisive penalty for South Africa in the 68th minute. An attempt by Handre Pollard which allowed the Springboks to take a four-point lead (25-29). But World Rugby considers that Kwagga Smith's scratch on Cameron Woki was not carried out according to the rules. The penalty should have gone to the XV of France. Not to mention the Anti games hand of Etzebeth...in short a stealing match. In fact the whole world saw it, and it's very good that way. Nothing to be proud of. What a hoax!

In the last 2 decades or so, the French have been subject to plenty of heartbreaks both in Football and Rugby. Both 2006 & 2022 FIFA WC they were extremely unlucky not to forget the 2016 Euro at home. Likewise 3 final defeats in RWC in 1987, 1999 and 2011 and now an agonizing home loss by a point in the quarterfinals. Feel sorry for them
New Zealand were a protected species in the 2011 final against France. With Joubert's performance considered by many to be the worst example of refereeing ever seen, France were never in with a shout. It was clearly a plan. Not to lose the game because that is not in our DNA, but to try win without giving away too much. I think Rassie believed that we would meet Ireland in the final and did not want to show his hand. Why else would we go for a 7-1 split and then not use our forwards much at all? Why would we steal so much lineout ball from Ireland and then just stop competing? Why would we take every lineout off the top and send the ball straight down the backline without even trying to set a maul? Ah yeah and France were playing at 80% when they lost to Ireland in the 6 nations were they too. SA are not going to win this WC (they’ll lose thte same way they lost the Rugby championship) they dont know how to play at 80% because they always play the same players and same style.

I am incredibly proud of my beloved Boks for the 80 minutes of heart stopping, edge of your seat, adrenaling overdose they gave us. I suspect that my heart flatlined last night and my body is just waiting to catch up.
But
I am much more proud of them for their conduct in the aftermath.

Bro this match I watched yesterday at 21:00 was the best rugby match I've ever seen in rugby history
Still a huge obstacle in England for the Boks but dare we dream; New Zealand vs South Africa for the finals. Rivals clashing once again in their pursuit for immortality by becoming the first ever 4 time World Champion😭❤

xWorld Rugby supervisors looked into the meeting between Fabien Galthié's men and the Springboks.
Cheslin Kolbe at fault
When the second French try was converted (22nd minute), Thomas Ramos had his shot blocked by Cheslin Kolbe.

@@JayKay-on2gr dude, not sure what you were watching but his ankle tap might have saved the game for us.
Almost as good as his 2 passes to french players..😉@@brianedwards3823
Faf is past his sell by date. The ankle tap was because he missed his tackle and was out of position in the 1st place. Also kicking away the ball near the end could have cost us big time. We were lucky, Faf is not our best 9.
@@brianedwards3823 I was watching the game. Sober for a change. Which I certainly won't be doing again after all that stress
I don't watch a lot of rugby but man that opening from France was epic. Best rugby I've ever seen.
Feel sorry for them
Atleast they've won 2 world cups when it comes to football. The same can't be said for their Rugby counterparts.
Thank you !!!
😂😂😂 difference is in rugby they've never won a world cup and they're gods in football.
New Zealand were a protected species in the 2011 final against France. With Joubert's performance considered by many to be the worst example of refereeing ever seen, France were never in with a shout. Mind you, if their histrionics hadn't seen Sam Warburton sent off in their earlier match against Wales, they probably wouldn't have even got to the final. Karma can be a funny thing. Maybe France are destined to never win the rugby world cup.
Jajajajaja eso les pasa por aceptar a puro inmigrante para que los represente, que vergüenza
Probably 3 of the best rugby matches of all time in one tournament. Ire/SA, NZ/Ire, SA/Fra. Congrats to everyone involved.
This is my second favourite game of all time.
1st?
@@zeusisruthless England South africa final 2019
Dear me ...
@@kylesmith1160 these game was far better than South Africa vs England 4 years ago
@@kylesmith1160i will never be tired of watching that match
Well done Springboks very proud of you as a South African
Gutted for Ireland and France..nobody would have a problem if they shared the cup with the top 4....crazy crazy..
I'm so disgusted. honestly I don't want to suffer anymore with WC games, I want to get rid of this competition.
@@pierreg2583😂😂😂 hey, you are football gods and dominate in many other sports. Don't be too down. You were robbed by poor officiating. I'm a saffa and I'll admit we got very lucky and A LOT went our way to win by a point
As a South African, yuk embarrassing nationality, I wanted Ireland to win the cup 😔
@@williamjohnpacker1563 thank you but yeah, not even sure of poor officiating. Bad decisions are often balanced in a match. That's just hard luck. I like rugby since I'm young, first WC I saw is 1991 but now I feel so depressed. I guess it's just a matter of time. Good luck for next round, obviously should not be so hard for your great team.
Nkalakatha by Mandoza is our rugby anthem. Kudos Bokke and great sportsmanship towards France.❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I almost fell through my arse hole from excitement..the nerves are still shattered and its Tuesday...France you are such a great nation and play rugby making it look beautiful like good wine and food but someone had to lose..it was so close so close...we owe it to France to win and retain the trophy for them to say we were beaten by the world champions...some consolation???...hopefully....France will be back for sure and will be a real force in four years time as a country they deserve their name on that trophy...
c'est gentil, mais nous ne gagnerons jamais cette coupe.
I respect France they played good their attack and fast so incredible as for Us was toughest game I'm happy we came back and win
Rugby won tonight, Great game no loser tonight🇿🇦
Definitely the greatest game I'v ever seen
France has hosted twice and missed out twice with both fantastic teams. Must be heartbreaking for them.
No many teams have won the RWC at home. Only SA (95) and the AB (in 2011 remember how).
@@rolandzarka5191 Yes, it is rare to win on home soil.
South Africa won twice in France
the people back home... thank you Siya
Speak for yourself
The strength in depth of the Boks squad is just another level ..
Rugby won!! Congrats Boks and great effort France!! South Africa and NZ are just on different levels when it comes to World Cups!!
No, rugby lost at the result is a gift given by O'Keefe.
Seriously ???
Springboks should've won the match against Ireland 🇮🇪 if it wasn't for the poor kicks.
But it played out well, where we might get a final what we all been waiting for for 18 years.
Yoh the all blacks and springboks just show their dominance and Argentina over the northern hemisphere teams.
Well done boys.
Let's goo all the way
FRANCE VS ALL BLACKS DETERMINED THAT GAME FOR THE BOKS.
Poor kicks were only one reason for the loss to Ireland. Stop being so simplistic - there was a lot more to it than that.
@@Karma-qt4ji 11 points... kicking cost us for sure.
@@Alias-gy3tz kicking cost us, stopping competing at the lineouts cost us, not kicking for the corner when we had penalties in our own half cost us, unforced error when Deon Fourie threw is skew at a 5 yard lineout cost us, not using our 15 forwards cost us, not mauling the ball even once in the first 70 minutes cost us, not protecting the ball properly in the last maul cost us.... any one of those things could have ultimately netted us the 5 points we were shy.
As I said, very simplistic to just settle on missed kicks when Rassie is a far shrewder animal than that...
Let you go to anywhere else robbers ! And don’t forget your little boy o keeffe, he is a good dog
The greatest game ever played is yet to come.
So proud of our Springboks! Grit and grind to the last second! That being said, the French were magnificent! An absolutely brutal game from two phenomenal sides.
He thinks the springboks that played Ireland were playing at full tilt they were busy with 80% IN the pool stages. This French team is far better than Ireland!
Ireland showed their hand way too early and it got chopped off
Agreed, France would have beaten Ireland with a performance like this and the same goes for SA, they too would have beaten Ireland if they had engaged that game at this level. Both these teams were the superior teams of the quarters.
Of course they are, that’s why they won the six nations and beat Ireland so convincingly…
Ah yeah and France were playing at 80% when they lost to Ireland in the 6 nations were they too. SA are not going to win this WC (they’ll lose thte same way they lost the Rugby championship) they dont know how to play at 80% because they always play the same players and same style. France lost because they weren’t clinical enough when they were all over SA in the first 20 minutes and compounded that by being sloppy almost gifting SA 2 tries. New Zealand aren’t worried about a dead rubber warm up game
You know you're doing something right when all the haters come out of the woodwork. Come on Ireland. Number 1 team in the world and cannot beat anyone 😂😂😂
Coming from behind it shows class... France play very well they give it all....
What a wonderful weekend of rugby. Two absolutely brilliant matches. Sorry one team had to lose each match but that´s why they compete.
The most intense match of rugby I've ever watched well done both sides.
