This interviewer has mastered the concept of "ask a question and let them talk". Well done.
Interviewers are journalists, often trying to get headlines for clout, or due to pressure from employers chasing ratings and clicks. Unless there's dirt they think they can dig for, most interviewers do tend to act with greater. Remember as with most professions, they mostly only act poorly in response to market forces, and apart from that generally they're doing what they grew up dreaming of doing right. Look at interviews with celebrities who don't have much controversy or gossip surrounding them, generally there's no agenda to be had, so most interviewers are respectful do their job well.
Agreed! It helps to have a very intelligent interview object. Watch Pauls interview by Conan OBrian.
Good point well made, really enjoyed that
you gotta listen to what the man said
Just as well David 'I WILL interrupt you' Speers is not interviewing the world's most famous bassman.
Now THIS is how to interview someone like Paul McCartney. Ask an intelligent question, then get out of the way and let the man answer it without interruptions at whatever length he wishes. Fabulous!

That was a fantastic interview. A big part of that was she let him talk and didn't interrupt at all. So often Macca is in the middle of a story and he gets hurried up or interrupted or whatever. There was none of this and the interview was 100% better for it.

With great kindness, naturalness, intelligence and simplicity, Paul McCartney tells us in this wonderful interview how the prodigy of technology managed to revive John Lennon's voice to sing together again. He also tells us about the magic of music, the phenomenon of creation, his life, the artistic and social feat that the Beatles achieved together in such a short time, and how human beings despite our imperfections, defects and limitations We have the inexplicable ability to get emotional, to create and communicate through musical magic. Simply admirable.

Honest ? The last thing William is, is being honest. And humble ? William is in love with himself. And at 86 years old he won't live forever.
I was able to see him live in 1990. I'll never forget the feeling of 40+ thousand people singing Hey Jude together!
I've seen him twice, once in the late 1970s and again about 5 or 6 years ago. When he came on stage I cried.
I’ve never gotten to see him and likely never will. I’m just glad millions of other people have had the chance, he’s a world treasure!
So do I! It was magical. I had tears in my eyes and goosebumps on my arms.

Thanks 7.30 for this interview with Sir Paul. I’ll be 70 this year. The first time I heard The Beatles something happened musically to me. Bought a Gibson acoustic and played it day and night. Finally after getting married I got a job at Ovation Guitars in 1977. In 79 or 80 I carved up 4-5 necks for Paul. Pro musicians have many guitars but I’m sure when Paul played Yesterday on an Ovation I had a small part in it. Retired after 35 years of guitar building.

It's on the very top of my bucket list. I'm 70 yrs old, and sadly have never been to a Beatles concert or a concert with any of the four, alone. So, I'm praying that Sir Paul will come to Tampa for one last concert. I'm so afraid he'll retire and won't make it. I adore the Beatles. I feel like so many others who have replied here. They were everything while growing up in the 60s. And, they still are. They are all I listen to. God bless The Beatles!
@@bunabunatetu6130 AMEN!
I was lucky enough to see all four of them as a teen in 1966...and seeing is about all you could do..as hearing them was very difficult with all the screaming. But a great memory, and also their last tour, so I was very fortunate!

Even if he ever got to my neck of the woods, I just wouldn't be able to afford to go. All the musical pop stars that I have followed over the years have all out priced themselves for what I can afford. One of my favorite pop song writers that is still affordable is watch live in a venue is Jimmy Webb. Who does small cabaret venues, and the prices are very reasonable. Even another favorite of mine Billy Joel is now out of reach price range for me now. In fact the last time I saw Billy was in a basketball arena and the sound was so loud and piercing to my ears it was just unenjoyable.
I've seen God knows how many hundreds of interviews with Paul and this one stands out! Instead of the usual stock questions answered with the usual stock answers, she pulls a little something extra out this time. It was fascinating to hear his thoughts on music in general and how it affects us, and how great music can transform our lives. Excellent job!
She's asking good questions, and then stepping back, giving him time to answer, relaxed and unhurried. A very refreshing and enjoyable interview.

To be fair, I’ve heard Paul give the same answers many times before to practically every question. Amazing that he can do it with such enthusiasm
the same answers but always with some nuance as he settles into those memories; and I, for one, never seem to tire of the hearing, again and again.
This is the best interview I've seen with Paul in years, I always find that he repeats the same things or tells the same stories in interviews but here he is very relaxed and it all flows really nicely. Brilliant 👌
I'd pay to see this genius of a musician even at 90 years of age just to hear him explain so many stories of the greatest rock & roll band of all time in The Beatles!

Butterfly Effect: Paul meets George on a school bus and John through a mate. Ringo fills in for Pete. And the world is better for it. Magic!
Synchronicity 🚔
I can remember if some major topic arose alot of younger people would wait to see how the Beatles felt about some issues.

Im still amazed at watching you create "Get Back" out of thin air. and John turns up late sits down and picks it straight up, and you ended up with that incredible song. Best Band in History
I'm a hard core "Rolling Stones" fan. Having said that, if someone asked me who I thought was the one person in "rock and roll" that was the most talented, that could write songs, that was a good singer and who could skillfully play multiple musical instruments I would have to say it was Paul McCartney.

Every word out of Paul’s mouth is perfect. Extraordinary eloquence. I was 9 years old when I became a fan. Then, still 9 years old, I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. But the Ed Sullivan show was before "Sir Paul's" (William) time in the band.
Paul, singing with John again, with the help of modern technology, got me teary-eyed. Life truly is a matter of chances, isn't it? How they all met each other and became friends and happened to form *the* band! Pure magic.
Ringo’s timing of hitting the snare drum soulfully at the right moment is one of the main ingredients of the Beatles songs
Nonesense. The Beatles would have done just fine without Ringo. Love me do was and the ballad of John and Yoko were great without Ringo. The main ingredients are the lyrics and the melody.

I adore Paul McCartney. He’s a very talented and fascinating man who’s lived a VERY scrutinized life for over 60 years. How he’s managed to remain relatively sane is beyond me. For so many years he was compared unfairly to John and had his massive talents openly diminished by people who don’t have a third as much talent. Paul was rarely allowed to be a feeling human, if he got annoyed or defensive about anything then he got attacked or dismissed or labeled as a jerk. Rather disappointing though to see how after all that in the book, he goes out of his way to keep lying here, saying "this is the same guy as the guy in 1964", without even being prompted. Then goes on how he knew George from the school bus...but the most shocking was how he said that he does not know how to write and read music. That just blew me away...after the memoirs, then such statements that were not even prompted. Very sad that he keeps lying so easily, like it means nothing, when he could so easily have not made such statements.
Imagine 81 & still Singing!!♥️👍🎶
I’ve been a FAN for 60Yrs
Love You Macca♥️♥️♥️♥️
Not only one of the most influential songwriters of all time, but an exceptional and humble human being. Love you Paul. Thanks much for your inspiration and contribution to human culture.
Watched Get Back twice already and could watch the entire footage unedited
Only wished they had filmed them during 64-65 in the studio when they were just cranking out amazing songs after amazing songs
I would have preferred the Early years as well
What an amazing, talented, awesome, brilliant, creative guy.
Oh come on. William is not a perfect human being.
Simply put… Paul is a historical figure that has been listened to for generations and decades and will continue to be listened to for many more generations and decades to come.
Hes our modern day Mozart
No, Billy is nothing of the sort. He held up his end of the bargain. That’s all.
I lobe hiw proud Paul is about his Beatle days…..he and John were one of a kind…..and john and paul loved each other, that is a fact.
I was 8 years old when I first heard the Beatles in early 1963. They instantly became my favorite, and still are. The Beatles quite literally made me become aware of music. What a gift!
You mean at 8 years old you were just becoming aware of music? And after all these years, they are your favorite? There's a lot more out there.
That's a beautiful way to be turned on to music and, a very high bar to have set for yourself at the tender age of 8 .✌️❤️🎸🎶🙏
@@sharpenflat6002 Remain clueless.
Yeah me too, 69 years old.....
@@sharpenflat6002we are the same age! Brilliant interview. Beatles Forever!
I love old Paul McCartney. everything I always wanted to know is coming out in his stories now. so cool
This guy and his music, just "wow"! I looked around at all the faces near me at the Sydney concert I attended two weeks ago and I was just bowled over seeing the sheer joy on everyone's face! Paul (and all the other Beatles) and their music just brings people joy! It was amazing to see and experience.
Oh, I am envious!
@@Ariel-T-Friesner It was amazing!
I'm french. My ears don't understand everything you say, but my heart does... I love you Paul...
I think the true magnitude of his contribution to music will only hit us when he’s gone. 💙
YOu've got a lot to learn about this world.....
Why don’t you enlighten me?
It's certainly a magic. And deserved recognition through all age groups. The story about Ringo's appearence is very touching ❤ Thank you all.
Please keep doing interviews, it's so good to hear your memories, Paul. I am very glad you are still with us. I also love to hear Ringo talk about his life! Every time it makes me feel closer to my favorite rock stars! Knowing how much you loved Linda and all your children is just heart warming! And, I am very happy that you found Nancy! You are such a loving man. God Bless you and all your family.
Thank you Sir Paul for all the Beautiful music memories i grew up listening to you guys still do Stay Safe take care God Blessings to you and yours🙏
He can tell the same stories over & over because he's just like us. 60 years later and we still don't understand it. It was miraculous.
Nostalgia is a helluva drug...
@@sbonamo No dude; The Beatles are a legit musical miracle. It's easy to take them for granted, but... their presence in this world was, and remains, a transcendent event, something that can't be explained in rational terms.
@@reallyordinary Whatever makes you happy... :-)
He's a lifetime actor.
Dad and I are seeing him the 28th of October ❤ Very excited, great interview as well!
To the interviewer..well done. The best interview I’ve seen in quite a while. She asks a question and respectfully sits back and lets the legend speak.
I love this man so much. He has meant so much to my life and I've never got to even see him perform. Thank you Paul
If you get the chance, go see him! Money well spent. I saw him back in 2002 and he played for nearly 3 hours, hardly taking a break or anything!
@@crmay72 I wish I could clearly don't have the money otherwise I would lol
Wow! NO INTERRUPTIONS!!
Fantastic.
Many thanks to all.

Loved this interview. Thanks for presenting it on UA-cam. Paul sounds very spiritually mindful in this video. He has aged well, and sounds sweetly mellow in his old age.
NO NO NO PAUL,,,,,, THANK GOD 🙏 FOR Y'ALL ! 😎😎😎😎
Sir Paul, I grew up on the south-east side of Chicago. As a four year old in 1964, my Ma had WLS-AM radio always on in the kitchen. Many memories of your hits with the Beatles. Thank you Sir Paul for making millions perhaps billions of lives worth living. May the Universe continue to shine on you.
One of the best interviews of him ever; at 70 yo I've seen a lot of them. She did a superlative job!
In Get Back, John and Paul make so much eye contact during the creative process, you can see the mutual regard and friendship in those moments. They made each other laugh with such ease. I think Get Back is a window into something beautiful.
Agreed! It was an excellent documentary.
Get Back was AI generated fake footage.
LOL. Yeah, so was Let It Be when it came out in 1970.@@ZalMoxis
They both had very different humour but it meshed together perfectly.
I feel Paul’s hurt and loss of John!🥺, rock on Paul we love you
Probably the best McCartney interview I've seen in a while. Heartfelt honesty and little ego behind him (this time)
Thanks for posting.😁
Finally a GREAT interviewer asking Paul Intelligent poignant questions with poignant answers back from Sir Paul ! It was a pleasure to get some insight on the MAGIC that is The Beatles ! ❤✌️♥️👍
Love this because the interviewer asked good questions and then kept completely quiet and gave him a chance to talk. ❤
Thank you Sir Paul McCartney.
One of the best interviews I have ever seen with Paul McCartney.
Very nicely done interview of a LEGEND!! Congratulations!! Love Paul and the LADS!
