Thankyou so much for taking the time to help others. I like making arrows out of POC. It’s kind of addicting. You can use any stain you want, any sealer you want and can really make a beautiful tool at the end of the day. You’ve just given me another way to add some pizzazz! Thankyou
My wife listening in the background says: "I have the vinyl already" "I have a crickut machine" "I have a board for cutting that you can use, dont touch my machine"😂😂
I go to a local craft store called Michaels, it’s a large chain. I buy sheets that are roughly 14” X 14”. I measure them so there is very little overlap and I don’t run my wraps all the way back to the nock either. Too much vinyl just adds more tail weight. My wraps are approx 3” in length and I center my fletch on the vinyl. I can get between 40 / 50 wraps per sheet of vinyl. I also bought an economical cutter from there as well, and I can have a whole sheet cut in about 10 to 15 minutes.
I had good luck with a different Orafal retroreflective vinyl. Lights up pretty well with just a little bit of light. Less need for a lighted nock depending on the brush
Dude! You are the best! Thank you! I’m always looking for cost effect ways for arrow building. I’m now using Gorilla super glue for fletching and Gorilla glue sticks for inserts as recommended by Jeff Phillips! Way cheaper than the ‘archery specific’ stuff and works just as good if not better!
Awesome!!! Thank you for posting. 10 dollars on amazon would give you 10 square feet of this vs the one square feet you get at archery supply stores. This way you can cut them to sizes and fit whatever arrows you have!
Here's a cheap tip... I couldn't find a foam for my Mathews T5 quiver to save my life. I found one, but it was $27 and that's just way too high for a piece of foam. I ended up getting a yoga block that was about $10 to cut a piece out of. As I pulled the old foam out of my quiver, I found that the reverse side was perfectly intact and usable so I just inverted it and reinstalled it and BOOM! Zero cost! But now I have to take up yoga to justify buying the foam block! 😂
Question about using wraps. Never used them before. Do you clean the vinyl to remove the oil of the wrap like you do with bareshaft? I always wipe the fletching end down with denatured alcohol. What’s you guys method? Thank you in advance.
Hi mate, thanks a lot, could you tell me if it is Oracal 651 or 6510? In my country the 651 is 0.07mm thick and does not exist in neon yellow, however, the 6510 is 0.11mm thick and does exist in that color. thank you very much in advance
The people that use VVIVID Vinyl Wrap recommend the non perminant adhesive. More color selection with Oracal 651 but I only find perminant solvent based adhesive. How does the thickness compare with purchased and is Oracal 651 easy to remove by dipping in boiling water like purchased.

Great job and big savings, thank you
THE BEST VIDEO for archers….period. Thank you sooooooo much!
And here I thought all this time it was a special vinyl that resists melting under the glue or something amazing. DAM, thank you for this!

Awesome idea!! What does a sheet cost?
@@williambowfishing I don’t recall exactly, my wife usually picks it up, but it’s only like $3 or $4 a sheet I believe.
You just saved me a ton of time trying to find out what kind of vinyl to get
Thanks for this idea. I am in Europe, so got a roll of standard vinyl for outdoor use and works perfectly. Been shooting for months, never an issue.
Thank you. It’s about time that I take that cost saving step.
Thanks for the great saving $ tip!

I just ordered some, thanks for the tip!
Awesome answer my question of to make my own now

Great tip. I will check that Oracal 651 out. I have plenty of arrows to wrap. Thanks. I have liked and subscribed.
Glad I could help!

Awesome sauce
A year later and you the man......
Thank you!!!!
Bohning fletch tape works great with this stuff
I remember xx75's from 1985.
Same here, spent many days trying to straightening them from hitting trees (not the intended target of course).
3M makes some super thin vinyl too

I usually wipe the arrow shaft down, let dry and apply the wrap. Never any problems.
what is that cutting board called? some type of seamstress board?

It is 651. Might have to try ordering it
@@The_Craftsman_ TRANK! But I have looked at the manufacturer's website and there is only neon yellow in 0.11mm thickness (ORACAL 6510).
Thanks M8 from OZ, great work!, I am doing the same, 👍
Orocal 651 is the colored stickers, Orocal 6510 is the same, but it's the fluorescent colors.
Is that the permanent vinyl?
Yes, but it is not actually permanent. Just much harder to remove which is what you want for this use case.
Is that the Brimestone yellow?
No. It is chartreuse
@@The_Craftsman_ Where did you get that from? There is no chartreuse.
It's Chartreuse, AKA Fluorescent Yellow@@Tullminator they're the same.

But I'm farther ahead by not having to buy all the extra tools I would need, I also don't have to store all the extra stuff.
If you happen to know someone with a Cricut they can set the machine up to cut them out for you..
Automotive and small engine gaskets too
Roger that, I'm on this 🫡
