By wrapping the front half of your arrow, you are increasing f.o.c., but you are weakening your dynamic spine. If you want the arrow to behave as if it's stiffer, add wieght to the back of the shaft, or cut it shorter.
I made a dozen white and a dozen lime green wraps after watching. looks incredible. Needs to add 1/16 to 1/8 inch to circumference for width to look and stick good. A gentle heat gun and pressure after rolling on mouse pad sets the curve and reduces pealing. Flex Bond sticks just fine. Removes easy when dipped in boiling water so no more endless glue scraping which I just hate. Durability remains to be seen but have shot every day for a month with no issues. If an edge starts to peal and heat does not restick a drop of Flex Bond would work I bet.
I bought 2 different types of vinyl wrap the first one was rolled up and I hated that because it used rolled the wrong way. The second stuff was like a 12 by 12 square sheet and I really like that. I will ever buy wraps again lol.. thank you sir for the awesome video
This was not my experience using these automotive wraps. I used the VViViD reflective vinyl wrap ordered through Amazon and have been very frustrated with it. The wrap is thicker, heavier and harder to work with than purpose built arrow wraps. The automotive wrap does not want to stick to itself very well at all. I spent a couple hours wrapping and fletching arrows just to end up chasing my tail trying to keep the wraps from unraveling. I've tried super glue and even fletching glue but they do not work for long on this material. Now I get to buy more fletching material and start over! Maybe the vinyl that Ike is using is better than the stuff I got but I'm not taking any chances. The little money I saved buying the automotive vinyl has now been eclipsed by the money I wasted in fletchings. Not to mention the wasted time fletching and re-fletching arrows.
I have some of the reflective wrap and I had the same experience. In the video I used the non reflective easier to use and stuck much better. On ones I had issues with it sticking I hit it with a hair dryer and that took care of it.
Just out of curiosity....do you prefer straight vanes or a few degrees of offset? You mentioned in another video that 30 yards is your comfort zone/max distance give or take shooting at a deer. Im with ya on that, I hunt thicker hardwoods and 30 yards is about all your gonna hope to get. That being said I’ve never noticed much difference in arrow flight at that range between a straight vanes and an offset vanes. Same with helical.
I hunt the same type of stuff you do. I have only had an open shot over 30 yards twice in over 25 years. I have tried shooting a bunch of different configurations and never noticed a difference. I put a slight offset on mine now but that's only because the jig I am using is set up that way.

I intend to try this but will wrap one and see how easy it is to remove first. The wraps you buy peel off easy after dipped in boiling water.
Just paid 20dollars for 14 wraps lol
Excellent idea............I can't believe how much people are spending on store bought Wraps.
You and me both!

Me: I need to wrap my arrows….looks at wifes cricuit…. UA-cam diy arrow wraps…. Video confirms!!!!!
Same but looked at husband circuit:)
Does the wrap overlap at all? Or do you have to have it stop edge to edge?
It over wraps slightly.
Ike's Outdoors thank you
How much did they end up weighing? I know a typical wrap weighs about 1 grain per inch?
I should have mentioned it in the video but I forgot. This vinyl is a little thicker. I believe it was 2.4 grains per square inch
Ike's Outdoors thanks man!

Great Tip... Nice to see you back.
Awesome tip Ike, have you looked into the steel force muscle head at all? Thanks for all the tips
I haven't heard of it.

What type of vinyl do you search for to find the rolls on amazon?
I just searched for vinyl wrap.
@@ikesoutdoors thanks
