The beginning scenes of Bruce’s monologue about how he knows he can’t be everywhere at once but the fear he’s created makes it so he can slow crime without needing to be there was perfect. It was everything I wanted from a Batman movie and it made me tear up. 10/10

It really felt like we looked into what a week of being Bruce wayne/Batman looked like. Marvel makes their movies look good just as movies, but this DC film? Your standards must be low then. Seven was done better and other Batman movies have been done better so far. And yes, he's dark, gritty, and dangerous. That's how he's usually portrayed. This movie could have been better, but still wasn't bad.

Anyone would fall to the ground in one shot no matter how strong you are. Every hit he took in reality would knock him down. He was going through a tunnel with at least a hundred bullets hitting him directly. Nobody not even Batman can take a force to the body like that and still manage to fight as if nothing happened.
Spoiler alert Near the end when they were at the rally for the running mayor, I forget her name, but there’s a quick 2 second shot where catwoman looks up at batman hanging by his hands after the thing he was fighting on fell, and he’s like shifting over and idk if it’s just me but it looked a lot like the animation in the Arkham games
My biggest easteregg was the mix of Riddler and Hush. Though it is clearly the Riddler, he wears a mask much like Hush and also his backstory and motivation are those of Hush. Also when the reporter is mentioned, his name is Edward Elliot, a mix of Edward Nigma (Riddler) and Thomas Elliot (Hush), followed even by the name "Hush". This was just so cleverly combined
FUN FACT The Riddler had deathtraps and played mind games in THE ANIMATED SERIES !! The animated series riddler came out before SAW (jigsaw) & se7en !!! I would say for the "LOOK" they went for a more modern serial killer styled updated HUSH costume ! The CALENDERMAN is more like ZODIAC KILLER !
Martha's Arkham Connection also acts as a good reference/justification for her transformation into the Joker in Flashpoint. With that backstory, what happened to Bruce could've been the final push to no return.
I think the director confirmed it to be adrenaline, but I don’t remember the source for that. I think making it green was a just a nod to venom or to help the audience see what was happening in a dark lit scene.

SPOILER KINDA: a thing I noticed when Batman was milly rocking the shit outta them people with the white face paint at the train station. The younger dude with the half painted face was played by Jay Lycurgo who was also in Titans season 2.
Jay Lycurgo who plays Tim Drake in Titans series was the half face joker in The Batman, I found that very interesting as they could have chosen anyone to play that minor role
His cowl seemed to be made of leather outwardly but who noticed that in one or two scenes it deflected some bullets and he even got knocked out for a little while (at the recycling plant and at the Gotham Square Garden fight where he almost fell from the roof)? Maybe there's some protective underlining to it. There was a mistake in props regarding his gauntlet fins when he tries to hush Selina down when the duty cop was entering the room - they were too flexible (Perhaps, I'm wrong and they're just straps).
Just watched it an hour ago, it was long but that made it better imo. Gives the movie enough time for world building and make the movie unpredictable. Like i couldn't count how many times i was shocked and sitting at the edge of my seat after revelations and plot twists. It was great. GOOD BYE

Why no one talked about the guy in the church before the car crash ! I don’t know if it’s just me but I think that guy was the killer of Bruce parents. The hint is when the guy ask Bruce if he knows him and after that he hear someone call him by his name he immediately has a creepy look plus if the guy was a just a random why the camera zoomed at him like that. Plus he said that rich bastard people deserve to die like if already kill one ( or two in the mater) himself
I think that scene you mention was setting up the scene wear Batman unmasks one of the copy cat Riddlers. The copy cat Riddler says he’s doing this for vengeance and Batman realizes he has to be something bigger than vengeance.

If we think about the unseen prisoner’s riddle he told the Riddler at the end when riddler asked who he was, we can pretty much figure out who it is. He said something like: “the fewer you got the more you have”. Well…. card games. Jokers.
They showed enough. I only seen the first trailer. Went into this film blind. No reviews, no trailer analysis. Everyone was cast perfectly. I believe DC has finally started to clean up their act and just focus on more character driven films. This film is definitely one of the greatest among comic book movies. And movies in general. Its was 3hr and I wish it was a little longer lmao.

This is the Batman movie not done as a superhero genre but actually grounded in reality. I can understand the comparison between this and Joker and why people are clamouring for the crossover. Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler doesn't dress fanciful but realistic. Batman walks in and out of the crime scenes with Gordon and interacting with the cops and saving the people in the final scene shows him as a human and not an urban legend. The concept is more vigilante than superhero.
I’ve never laughed so hard at a serious movie. I love Batman, but this movie was a joke. There’s just too many things that are ridiculous. Gordon plugging a serial killers usb into the police computer….. Batman cornering Penguin, just to run away and wait in his “Batmobile,” just so he can have the luckiest car chase ever, cause mass damage to corner Penguin AGAIN, just to let him go. Whimpering “Ow” after jumping off a building in an average wing suit and for SOME REASON waiting until the last second to pull his chute. Ridiculous….oh no a FLOOD, in the last 5 minutes of a 2.5 hour movie!! Barf and Vomit, all over this movie.

My only complaint with this movie is changing the characters like penguin being a short pudgy with top hat and umbrella and now he's gigantic no hat or umbrella (except for his goons), Gordon went from being a white older man to a black woman, and the riddler. The younger generations may not care simply because they don't know the long history of Batman but I grew up with Batman comics, yes starting with Detective stories my grandfather had as well as my dad and uncles had as kids. I just can't get passed the suttle wokeness that takes place with this movie. I'm only speaking for myself and not others even though I've heard others express same feelings of the movie so don't get bent about it it's just a fricken movie, love it or hate it, its a choice and I chose mine ✌
Last night I saw Matt Reeves The Batman and although I surprisingly liked the first hour and a half and I could actually see past most of the things I thought I’d hate about this movie. HOWEVER the 3rd and 4th act ie the second half ie the next hour and a half made this movie completely shit and into a joke where I forced myself not to walk out of this movie. I could see past how rough Alfred looked and felt but this movie was completely shit for these reasons... 1) Robert Pattison looks nothing like Bruce Wayne, in the first half of the movie I could see past this but when the movie got really bad Bruce Wayne’s look just added to the shitness of this movie. 2) The voice of both Bruce Wayne and Batman sound exactly the same so when the second half of the movie came this just added to the overall shitness of the movie as I couldn’t believe nobody except The Ridder could work out Bruce Wayne was Batman, even when Jim Gordon and Batman were both looking at The Ridder’s wall of clueless and Batman says “I think I’m his next target” Jim Gordon even though he is annoying the wrong race compared to every comic, he is a really smart cop and he could have easily worked out Bruce Wayne was Batman going on this wall of clues and Bruce Wayne’s / Batman’s voice. 3) In the first half of the movie I actually liked how different The Riddler looked but this went down the toilet as soon as The Riddler went over the top with his voice and for me The Ridder in the second half is the main reason why this movie was so shit. Actually come to think of it in the first hour of this movie I could see past how different The Riddler looked, but as the movie went on and on The Riddler looked like some pathetic annoying brat kid making the movie really really shit especially when he was in jail. 4) Although I could see past how bad the Batsuit looked. In the second half of the movie I found it really annoying how Batman never used those silver looking arrow things strapped onto his lower arms and these silver arrow things on his lower arms made the Batsuit just look ridiculous. 5) The Bat Logo on is chests actually comes out of the suit to be used as a tool which would have been cool except Batman only used it to remove some police tape from the door. Batman could have easily pulled the tape off with one swipe with his hand. For me this cheapened the movie... This Bat Logo coming out of the Bat Suit is actually a really cool idea but it would be better used as a remote control surveillance drone or as a weapon to take down really huge enemies, which brings me nicely to my next point. 6) I’m pretty sure that through out the movie there was no mention of Bruce Wayne’s years of training and you only saw Bruce Wayne do about 3 Push Ups... Bruce Wayne is all about training even in his early days of being Batman and this movie is set in year two of being Batman so really we should have seen some training in some form, but the actor Robert Pattison just stupidly refused to do any training for a Batman role. I felt that 3 Push Ups made the movie feel really lame. 7) I fully understand that in this movie Bruce Wayne couldn’t care less about his “Bruce Wayne persona” and that’s fine as it’s only year two. However it really wasn’t done right in the movie and I’ve said this since day one of knowing that this movie was coming out... Robert Pattison looks nothing like Bruce Wayne at all, in fact he feels like some whiny emo kid in a business suit and to be honest I thought Bruce Wayne looked and felt like a mixture of The Crow and Batman with Bruce Wayne’s grungy face make-up even while he is not putting on he Batsuit. This especially made the movie feel shit and confusing. In the comics even if Bruce Wayne doesn’t want to be his “Bruce Wayne persona” it is done really well. But It’s done really badly in this movie. Don’t get me wrong I’m a massive Batman fan, I’ve even got a large Batman tattoo on my arm. Plus I absolutely love 3 hour movies as it’s generally a far better story... However I’m not entirely sure if it was the cinema speakers or if it was the movie but for the most part I couldn’t hear what the were saying and due to this this movie felt painfully too long where you hoped everyone would just die so it would be over. I was trying not to fall asleep and that’s from someone who is Batman obsessed lol. 9) For a massive character in the Gotham PD where the hell was Harvey Bullock? Even in year two of Batman, Harvey Bullock was around and the working relationship between Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock was really important to the story and this movies story was based on the Batman: Earth One graphic novels... in the Batman: Earth One story Harvey Bullock made Jim Gordon look like he really did eventually deserve the the role as Commissioner even in the early years of Batman. 10) In the graphic novel Batman: Year One the news press thought Catwoman was Batman’s partner and this really pissed off Catwoman so she scratched Carmine Falcone giving him a huge scar across the right side of his face... Now this movie is set in year two and Matt Reeves is supposed to be a huge fan of Batman comics but in this movie Carmine Falcone annoying has no face scar which lessons the credibility of this movie. 11) and Lastly... Right as the end of the movie sadly I had enough but The Jokers laugh sounds nothing like the real Joker’s laugh, just like Robert Pattison looks nothing like Bruce Wayne this really was the last nail in the coffin for me. On the whole I loved the very dark tone of this movie and I absolutely loved the use of shadows how Batman just emerges from the shadows. And I also loved how Batman did the monologue through the whole movie... But as a true Batman movie this is definitely not it and to be honest this movie made me very sad for the very simple fact that Zack Snyder has made the ultimate Bruce Wayne / Batman with Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder’s phenomenal Snyderverse but Warner Brothers have what I can tell banned Zack Snyder from finishing his epic 5 movie story arc, and so Warner Brothers made this half arsed shit of a Batman movie just to spite Zack Snyder and that really depress me. PLEASE JUST LET ZACK SNYDER FINISH HIS SNYDERVERSE!!! Zack Snyder truly understands the world of DC comics #RestoreTheSnyderverse #HaveFaithAlfred #BenAffleckAsBatman

Oh boy, here we go. You don't have to like the film, of course, but films don't have to perfectly reflect the comics. Mentioning things like Falcone not having a scar when there's pretty much no reason for it to necessarily be in the movie is honestly not even a complaint about the movie. Also, the fact that you mentioned the Snyderverse, where Batman constantly broke his one rule and killed people, really just goes to show that you're trying to find things to complain about. I'd love to see the Snyderverse finished as well, but I honestly preferred The Batman to all of the past DC movies, and I thought they did a really good job. Although to end it on a more positive note, although it isn't really something that brings the movie down for me, I would love a live action Harvey Bullock to appear in a movie.
@@edgeworth097 Are you serious right now? Falcone's scar happened in Year One where Catwoman scratched him... This movie is set in Year Two so having no scar gives the movie a bit less credibility... Its all about the tiny details and thats why most of ups love all of Zack Sndyer movies especially if they're sequels because he goes really in depth both with details and story wise too every tiny thing is connected in some way.... Now I assume Matt Reeves end goal is to do The Court of Owls story which I would love, but sadly it wouldn't work unless he did a time jump because to make The Court of Owls story believable you'll need Dick Grayson as Nightwing as that character is massively tied in to the story. I'm almost sure WB will fuck it up by having a Robin not Nightwing. Robin needs time to grow and become his own hero first also you'll need the rest of the bat family in The Court of Owls story... Personally I love DC not Marvel but I have to admit Marvel knows how to play the waiting game story wise so its believable, and for The Court of Owls story WB needs to wait awhile

imo joker is kinda overused, i actually expected him as two-face instead. i know he is the key villain but batman has many other iconic villains.

A truly superb movie but man the trailers showed waaay too much.
They showed enough. I only seen the first trailer. Went into this film blind. No reviews, no trailer analysis. Everyone was cast perfectly. I believe DC has finally started to clean up their act and just focus on more character driven films. This film is definitely one of the greatest among comic book movies. And movies in general. Its was 3hr and I wish it was a little longer lmao.
They showed just enough. Had they ever shown Falcone in the trailers, THEN they would have shown too much.
@@Wh1teB0ii369 im the 3 trailers and clips,they showed all the action/fighting with batman.there isnt an batman fighting/action scene that isnt in those trailers/clips.so yeah,i think they showed way too much.i really loved the movie and it ties with the dark knight for me,but the fact that i knew all those scenes just downed the surprise factor for me.and yea,falcone is showed,but in those short clips,not trailers.

Yeah, that’s why I stopped watching trailers altogether a few years ago. Too much plot and nothing to really “wow” you when you get to the theater.

This is the Batman movie not done as a superhero genre but actually grounded in reality. I can understand the comparison between this and Joker and why people are clamouring for the crossover. Catwoman, Penguin and Riddler doesn't dress fanciful but realistic. Batman walks in and out of the crime scenes with Gordon and interacting with the cops and saving the people in the final scene shows him as a human and not an urban legend. The concept is more vigilante than superhero.
But I miss their costumes so much

I’ve never laughed so hard at a serious movie. I love Batman, but this movie was a joke. There’s just too many things that are ridiculous. Gordon plugging a serial killers usb into the police computer….. Batman cornering Penguin, just to run away and wait in his “Batmobile,” just so he can have the luckiest car chase ever, cause mass damage to corner Penguin AGAIN, just to let him go. Whimpering “Ow” after jumping off a building in an average wing suit and for SOME REASON waiting until the last second to pull his chute. Ridiculous….oh no a FLOOD, in the last 5 minutes of a 2.5 hour movie!! Barf and Vomit, all over this movie.

Affleck was a really good Bruce Wayne, but I didn't buy him as Batman.
If dark night is a ten then this batman is 9.5, so good. Im not into love stories in movies and i kinda wish patinson beefed up a little more because its not to believable that a skinny guy is able to do this stuff. Hurry up and make another one. Dc sucks at everything stick with this.

The only thing I didn’t like is how they black washed the Gordon character and had a reference to the myth of white privilege. Other than that garbage it was a good movie, I just wish they could leave politics out of the movies.

Well the movies is literally about a dude killing the elite and Batman has to stop them. That’s literally the only thing that’s political in the movie, and it’s really not even bad. Makes more sense than riddler just capturing random civilians

My only complaint with this movie is changing the characters like penguin being a short pudgy with top hat and umbrella and now he's gigantic no hat or umbrella (except for his goons), Gordon went from being a white older man to a black woman, and the riddler. The younger generations may not care simply because they don't know the long history of Batman but I grew up with Batman comics, yes starting with Detective stories my grandfather had as well as my dad and uncles had as kids. I just can't get passed the suttle wokeness that takes place with this movie. I'm only speaking for myself and not others even though I've heard others express same feelings of the movie so don't get bent about it it's just a fricken movie, love it or hate it, its a choice and I chose mine ✌
Last night I saw Matt Reeves The Batman and although I surprisingly liked the first hour and a half and I could actually see past most of the things I thought I’d hate about this movie. HOWEVER the 3rd and 4th act ie the second half ie the next hour and a half made this movie completely shit and into a joke where I forced myself not to walk out of this movie. I could see past how rough Alfred looked and felt but this movie was completely shit for these reasons...
1) Robert Pattison looks nothing like Bruce Wayne, in the first half of the movie I could see past this but when the movie got really bad Bruce Wayne’s look just added to the shitness of this movie.
2) The voice of both Bruce Wayne and Batman sound exactly the same so when the second half of the movie came this just added to the overall shitness of the movie as I couldn’t believe nobody except The Ridder could work out Bruce Wayne was Batman, even when Jim Gordon and Batman were both looking at The Ridder’s wall of clueless and Batman says “I think I’m his next target” Jim Gordon even though he is annoying the wrong race compared to every comic, he is a really smart cop and he could have easily worked out Bruce Wayne was Batman going on this wall of clues and Bruce Wayne’s / Batman’s voice.
3) In the first half of the movie I actually liked how different The Riddler looked but this went down the toilet as soon as The Riddler went over the top with his voice and for me The Ridder in the second half is the main reason why this movie was so shit. Actually come to think of it in the first hour of this movie I could see past how different The Riddler looked, but as the movie went on and on The Riddler looked like some pathetic annoying brat kid making the movie really really shit especially when he was in jail.
4) Although I could see past how bad the Batsuit looked. In the second half of the movie I found it really annoying how Batman never used those silver looking arrow things strapped onto his lower arms and these silver arrow things on his lower arms made the Batsuit just look ridiculous.
5) The Bat Logo on is chests actually comes out of the suit to be used as a tool which would have been cool except Batman only used it to remove some police tape from the door. Batman could have easily pulled the tape off with one swipe with his hand. For me this cheapened the movie... This Bat Logo coming out of the Bat Suit is actually a really cool idea but it would be better used as a remote control surveillance drone or as a weapon to take down really huge enemies, which brings me nicely to my next point.
6) I’m pretty sure that through out the movie there was no mention of Bruce Wayne’s years of training and you only saw Bruce Wayne do about 3 Push Ups... Bruce Wayne is all about training even in his early days of being Batman and this movie is set in year two of being Batman so really we should have seen some training in some form, but the actor Robert Pattison just stupidly refused to do any training for a Batman role. I felt that 3 Push Ups made the movie feel really lame.
7) I fully understand that in this movie Bruce Wayne couldn’t care less about his “Bruce Wayne persona” and that’s fine as it’s only year two. However it really wasn’t done right in the movie and I’ve said this since day one of knowing that this movie was coming out... Robert Pattison looks nothing like Bruce Wayne at all, in fact he feels like some whiny emo kid in a business suit and to be honest I thought Bruce Wayne looked and felt like a mixture of The Crow and Batman with Bruce Wayne’s grungy face make-up even while he is not putting on he Batsuit. This especially made the movie feel shit and confusing. In the comics even if Bruce Wayne doesn’t want to be his “Bruce Wayne persona” it is done really well. But It’s done really badly in this movie.
Don’t get me wrong I’m a massive Batman fan, I’ve even got a large Batman tattoo on my arm. Plus I absolutely love 3 hour movies as it’s generally a far better story... However I’m not entirely sure if it was the cinema speakers or if it was the movie but for the most part I couldn’t hear what the were saying and due to this this movie felt painfully too long where you hoped everyone would just die so it would be over. I was trying not to fall asleep and that’s from someone who is Batman obsessed lol.
9) For a massive character in the Gotham PD where the hell was Harvey Bullock? Even in year two of Batman, Harvey Bullock was around and the working relationship between Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock was really important to the story and this movies story was based on the Batman: Earth One graphic novels... in the Batman: Earth One story Harvey Bullock made Jim Gordon look like he really did eventually deserve the the role as Commissioner even in the early years of Batman.
10) In the graphic novel Batman: Year One the news press thought Catwoman was Batman’s partner and this really pissed off Catwoman so she scratched Carmine Falcone giving him a huge scar across the right side of his face... Now this movie is set in year two and Matt Reeves is supposed to be a huge fan of Batman comics but in this movie Carmine Falcone annoying has no face scar which lessons the credibility of this movie.
11) and Lastly... Right as the end of the movie sadly I had enough but The Jokers laugh sounds nothing like the real Joker’s laugh, just like Robert Pattison looks nothing like Bruce Wayne this really was the last nail in the coffin for me.
On the whole I loved the very dark tone of this movie and I absolutely loved the use of shadows how Batman just emerges from the shadows. And I also loved how Batman did the monologue through the whole movie... But as a true Batman movie this is definitely not it and to be honest this movie made me very sad for the very simple fact that Zack Snyder has made the ultimate Bruce Wayne / Batman with Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder’s phenomenal Snyderverse but Warner Brothers have what I can tell banned Zack Snyder from finishing his epic 5 movie story arc, and so Warner Brothers made this half arsed shit of a Batman movie just to spite Zack Snyder and that really depress me. PLEASE JUST LET ZACK SNYDER FINISH HIS SNYDERVERSE!!! Zack Snyder truly understands the world of DC comics #RestoreTheSnyderverse #HaveFaithAlfred #BenAffleckAsBatman

Oh boy, here we go. You don't have to like the film, of course, but films don't have to perfectly reflect the comics. Mentioning things like Falcone not having a scar when there's pretty much no reason for it to necessarily be in the movie is honestly not even a complaint about the movie. Also, the fact that you mentioned the Snyderverse, where Batman constantly broke his one rule and killed people, really just goes to show that you're trying to find things to complain about. I'd love to see the Snyderverse finished as well, but I honestly preferred The Batman to all of the past DC movies, and I thought they did a really good job. Although to end it on a more positive note, although it isn't really something that brings the movie down for me, I would love a live action Harvey Bullock to appear in a movie.
@@edgeworth097 Are you serious right now? Falcone's scar happened in Year One where Catwoman scratched him... This movie is set in Year Two so having no scar gives the movie a bit less credibility... Its all about the tiny details and thats why most of ups love all of Zack Sndyer movies especially if they're sequels because he goes really in depth both with details and story wise too every tiny thing is connected in some way.... Now I assume Matt Reeves end goal is to do The Court of Owls story which I would love, but sadly it wouldn't work unless he did a time jump because to make The Court of Owls story believable you'll need Dick Grayson as Nightwing as that character is massively tied in to the story. I'm almost sure WB will fuck it up by having a Robin not Nightwing. Robin needs time to grow and become his own hero first also you'll need the rest of the bat family in The Court of Owls story... Personally I love DC not Marvel but I have to admit Marvel knows how to play the waiting game story wise so its believable, and for The Court of Owls story WB needs to wait awhile

@@KainsTorment Sorry for the delay, only just noticed this. Year One may have happened in the comics, but it doesn't have to translate to the films. Batman kills people in the Snyder movies, which was very out of character, not to mention the poor miscasting of Lex Luthor ruining his character. You can think what you want about The Batman, but that isn't really anything
