    Philip Seymour Hoffman tributes: bit.ly/1icwezN
Watch one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's final interviews at the Sundance Film Festival last month. Hoffman was promoting his new film A Most Wanted Man at the American film festival. The Oscar Award-winning actor appeared to hint at the fact he was feeling lonely, after saying that was one of the qualities he shared with his character. The renowned actor was found dead in his New York apartment on Sunday, apparently of a drug overdose. Report by Andrea Lilly.

Regardless of his off screen behaviour, which at the end of the day is his personal life, rightly or wrongly. The fact remains, that the film world has lost one of its finest actors, what a shame, R.I.P. Mr. Hoffman.

It's been close to 2 years and I still can't get over his death. I, like many, assumed he was a partier, that he'd been a hard drinker and done drugs his entire career. When he died I assumed his drug use was at the very least a product of his intense performances or that perhaps drug use helped make those performances. I was shocked to find out very recently that he had been sober for 23 years, attended AA multiple times a week, and had 3 small children. So many of the cruel and callus comments on any video about him show an incredibly unfeeling and hateful ignorance about addiction. As a 4 year sober alcoholic myself I can feel his pain. He beat his addiction until just a few months before his passing. Because he was a drug user he fell into a trap many drug addicts do. They put alcohol in a different class and convince themselves they can drink without falling back into drugs. That's exactly what he did. He convinced himself that since he'd been clean for 23 years he could imbibe a little alcohol like a responsible adult. The result should not surprise us. It's also clear his role in the play Death of a Salesman was incredibly trying. When you make a movie you do the scene and you're done. When you do a play you have to get into that role night after night after night. He even said it was killing him. His family and friends knew he was on a downward spiral, but anyone who has tried to help and addict knows how hopeless and powerless it feels. He did not hide it. He even told people if he didn't stop he was going to die. My heart very selfishly aches for myself that I'll never see him in another role, but mostly for his family, especially his 3 kids it would appear he was very devoted to. The life of PSH should educate us all that assumptions have no place when talking about the human heart and soul. He is missed and will continue to be missed for a very long time.

You're uneducated and weren't raised right by whoever raised you. You have no job, or no plan to make any real money at any point at all, because you're good at nothing and have no talent. Get off of here, and just be of use. Do something with your life. If you keep this up you're going to continue sitting there being a failure with absolutely no family or friends, and part of that is because no one wants anything to do with you because of who you are. Your negativity is palpable over the internet, and I can only imagine how much weakness and negativity you give off in your own life. You're weak, sad, and useless. You can change this if you put in the work and decide to be a decent human being, and this is something you should really think about or you will be in the same horrible spot you're in now. I feel bad for you truthfully, and I hope you decide to change. I hope you learned something of value either way. I don't want to see you on here with your nonsense and stupidity again, understood?

The interview at 0:21 says it all. By the look on his face you can tell he's really tired and mentally exhausted. He's totally frustrated by that interviews and the questions. Notice the way he pretends that he is deeply thinking what to say at 0:31 when actually he don't give a fuck he just yaps and makes something up to satisfy them. Here's a man that had enough of everything. We all have a breaking point. Much respect for that guy. RIP.

Wow, he looked awful in that last interview. Heroin is such an evil substance. It caresses your mind, body and soul with such a warm, comfortable feeling that makes you believe everything is bursting with benevolence and bliss! But then... before you even know it, it has clamped down on your dignity with the force of a thousand suns. And if you're lucky enough to survive the countless swords & sledgehammers it maniacally swings at everything holding your life together... You spend the rest of your time wondering why nothing seems pleasurable or fun anymore. Old hobbies are replaced by sheer boredom, and most of your friends appear to have forgotten you ever even existed. And then the whisper... That subtle yet overwhelming whisper... Straight into your consciousness.. "Please.. just one more. I will make life good again.."

99.9% Of the people that are sitting in judgment of Mr. Hoffman ( especially the UA-cam comment section ) Look in the mirror & don't like what they see or ignore the reflection & don't see anything at all.. Keep on doing what your doing as long as it makes you feel better about your miserable existence

We have to re-parent ourselves. I did this over the course of many years. First learning that my repressed emotions were manifesting as physical symptoms. Then trying to pay attention to my thoughts instead of repressing them. Then getting away from all the people in my life because I never liked my family but had to be around them and subsequently made friends with the same kind of people; I had to unlearn that. Then years of working through my emotions daily and alone.
If I could go back to my 5-year old self sitting under that bush after running away (for a couple of hours) I would say: "They're animals, don't care about them. Care about yourself. Don't hate them but don't love them either. Become INDEPENDENT and don't rely on them for anything. There's nothing you can do to help them so don't try. People like that only "listen" to success, they never listen to ideas or have the discernment to appreciate good ideas from bad ones. Be independent, be successful, be solo and eventually, they will come to you, hat in hand.

There is now need for people to judge this man. He has done that himself already and most likely much more severely so than anyone else would have. For what wrongdoing exactly he did so remains a mystery.
