How did I make $12k in one month? Get $500 days or $35/hour? I got deactivated on Doordash, Grubhub, or Uber Eats. How can I get back on? Reactivated? How can I increase my income?
This video is dedicated to my new subs who've been very engaged and asked me hundreds of questions over the last month. I do my best to answer your 14 most popular questions about Doordash and the gig economy. This is NOT a strategy video, it's for answering questions. W2 jobs in some states can fire you for no reason, control you financially and your schedule, think about all the in between time you spend at your job off the clock not getting paid, what’s the cost of your uniform and keeping it clean etc DoorDash is a good grind don’t listen to the driverless car non sense that is far in the future..only thing that sucks is gas prices..delivery jobs have been around for along time..I think your conflicted about being a ‘delivery driver’ and you affirm in every video that your more than that..we get man..your making bank doing this. embrace it .
Seems Doordash has become privy to your technique. I tried exactly what you did and it didn't work. Thank God Uber Eats is really busy in my area. I think you are right, DoorDash is an evil, opportunistic company and treats people like crap.
I know how to make anyone big money and travel a lot. Different states anyways. It's not illegal but it feels illegal when you learn all I have in 25years. It's minimal start if your a delivery person there's your living money until you get a gig. I'm going to do it again in 30 days or less. I'm in MN but it's from North to South depending on the catastrophe. I'm from Dallas Tx so I'm covering the best one this year to work. Lil would rock it.

personally I'm learning that I'm very much more a visual learner in that having a tangible example to work off of helps me pick up things a lot faster and extrapolate a lot better when its something I'm interest in, making it easier to deconstruct and learn from.

You got it man! If you need to do it, please let us know if it works. A number of people have talked about not being able to confirm with a Google voice number. If you need to, use a friend's real number to confirm, then switch the number over to voice once confirmed.

Good stuff! I agree, have a work/life balance or you will go crazy. Might I also add that if you are doing this full time, break up your schedule into 2 or 3 time blocks. This way if you get thrown off the app, you can just go back on later and your day isn't lost.
yea if I do like 7 hours or more in a day I will do a 2-3 hour break in between usually from like 2:30-5 I will go home, eat, chill and recharge my phone. I find that car chargers dont charge my phone up fast enough when I am using google maps at the same time as I am charging it so after 4 hours it starts to get to the point that the car charger isnt keeping up enough and I need to go home and do a full charge

Thank you so much for joining in! I have not been on Amazon Flex, but my brother in law tried it out. He had to drive something like 2 hours to the location to pick up packages, and was just a couple min late (normal traffic), and his shift was just gone. 2 hours driving back, and he won't be trying again 😂😂that's about all the experience I can draw from, but I have heard some horror stories
@Call me lil Ohh you have no idea how crazy it is...they give you 5 mins past the time then...poof! Gone & onto the next! It also means a tick off your rating in a huuuuuge way. Horrible part is I'm here in Baltimore which imo is the 2nd largest hub prob to Seattle their home base, So it's literally EVERYWHERE around here & I did honestly love it so was super bummed to have had it go sooo horribly south. Another super informative vid. Care to recommend any sources for longer term statistics? So far I've only been able to find paid market reports.
When I talk about that, I mean to say collect your own statistics. A lot of the useful information will be market-dependent. Things I needed to write down, like wait times at certain restaurants, I would keep up for a couple weeks before I got the gist (obviously takes time). Even after a couple weeks, you will be much better prepared than with nothing at all. Things like order sizes, tip amounts, orders during hourly intervals, etc..you can get directly from the apps and put it into a spreadsheet. For me, those stats are months long.

Good tip on getting reactivated by DD. I’m a FT student and do DD part time to cover daily living expenses. I fear that, out of no control of my own, DD will deactivate me and I’ll be SOL. Thanks for the video.
I totally know that fear..just don't go and get deactivated on purpose. This worked, for me, but I am not sure it will work for everyone
Na you wont be deactivated just stay with in their parameters. Know their rules. You can control that portion. Cover your ass and have the time stamp app.

With Chipotle in my area, I find that during lunch I never have to wait, its already ready. But on a thurs or friday night.........forget it! Myself and 10 other dashers are sitting there waiting 20 minutes or more. I wont take Chipotle orders anymore on a dinner shift from thurs-saturday
Something to write down and remember, keep track of exactly how often you’re right and how often you’re wrong about that, and whether that trend continues across seasons

I make top dasher every month without even trying. I tend to always have my acceptance rate at 70%. I do take lower orders but honestly not that often and yet and I still am able to remain at 70%. Most shifts I get almost all $5 or more orders where I can accept almost every order. I almost never unassign an order
That’s great that your orders are rarely under $5, but I’m confident you’re in a small minority there. Either way, if you have other apps available, you are leaving money on the table by not multi-apping-especially considering that you could be very picky 27 days/30, then take 70 orders in a row and still qualify for top dasher on the last day of the month.

I tried that for a week. Math says it is a waste of opportunity. Especially during lunch or slowish hours I take a bunch of 6.50 for 2 -2.5 miles. Waiting for only 9 dollar lunch orders for 3-4 miles means 20 minutes of dead time and more driving.
Weekend Dinners I shoot for 3-4x because that is bigger payouts, weekday dinner 3x
Slow periods 2.5x.
I added Spark and now I am up to 40ish an hour, even during dead hours. Do a 30minute Spark run for 30 and grab a 6-9 dollar food order back to Walmart for the mid afternoon

The most important think is milage as it affects time, gas and wear and tear on vehicle, It's even more important than payout, Wear on your vehicle can come back and wipe out a lot of your profits if you're not paying close attention to the miles
You also get a mileage tax deduction that is worth way more than gas and wear and tear on your vehicle-unless you’re driving like a Lamborghini or something.
Even if you’re not driving an old cheap hybrid like I described in this video, Your time is worth way more than the number of miles you put on your car. All else the same, sure, put fewer miles on your car. But it’s a tiny factor compared to actual time you spend in transit or at a restaurant
2nd comment, but it's a goodie! I just signed up for UberEats specifically by contacting customer support and requesting to have them switch my initial sign up to solely UE, and they were happy to do so. A little bit of back story...reasoning for this is I have 2 GT Mustangs, and neither of them qualified nor did my 07 Chrysler Sebring, so now I have these 3 to swap thru to evenly break-up the wear & tear. 1 last thing promise 😉 an interesting Lil tidbit is that 3 days ago I was offered the option of ridesharing. How? Still not too sure but they approved it on all 3 & I wonder if it's bc I originally asked to be signed up for UberEats ONLY....
That is really interesting...what area are you in? The requirements for ridesharing are different in different markets, and they change according to Uber's need. IDK about your Mustangs, but your Chrysler would likely meet the criteria in mine. My Prius was only 1 year too old-but maybe you've found a hack to get onto UE without a car that meets the criteria

@@aliciakelly5327 I can see your cars need to be 12 years old or newer, and they have to pass an in person inspection. You didn’t mention the year of your mustangs, but your Chrysler doesn’t meet the requirements. It doesn’t sound like any of them have had an inspection. Enjoy your loophole!

lost me at the very first question. your thought process is incredibly valid, calculating such data would help you for sure and there is no perfect answer, i also base my accept/decline on more factors than just the mile/dollar. but no matter the metric for what you can expect at this time of day/week, if your not going minimum 1:1 on your mile to dollar ratio for 90% of your orders than your never gonna make any money so to state that you just dont pay much attention to that is obscene. making sure you're NEVER doing 6$ orders for 9mile trips is like dashing 101, doesn't matter how prompt the restaurant is or if the highways is involved.
Well, I would almost never accept an order under ~$9, so that sort of weeds out $6/9 mile trips. But my advice can be summed up as “know your market, know your route, and multi-app”. 9 miles in one market in one route could take
@@callmelil must be a dif in local markets, I take 5-6$ orders all the time and adv over 20/hr on most every shift. As long as I make sure my ratios are on point and I don't take order the drag me out of my area that is. Taking to many small orders is def rolling the dice tho.

I signed up for door dash and Uber before I got a dui. Doordash deactivated me after 5 years of being on there they don’t give af about you. I have no way of getting back on and I had great performance but it meant nothing because of a charge from 5 years ago…. I got screws because I signed before my charge ever happened on my record……
It's hilarious how different a food franchise would be depending on where you live. I keep hearing how slow Chipotle is but the orders are always ready in my area.
That's great! Yeah, it does all depend on the area and the local employees. The weird thing is it seemed like it was always new staff everytime I was in there. I think their turnover was really high
where I live its 50/50. I find during lunch its almost always ready, during dinner its almost always a long wait

How did you log your delivery times from Door Dash? I can't find that data anywhere on the app. It gives me my overall Dash range (ex: 8am - 2pm) and day of the week. But the deliveries are out of order and it doesn't tell me when I received or completed those deliveries. Any help would be great. I had this idea myself and wanted to see if I can find any hourly trends on specific days

I have not been on Doordash in well over a year now, but when I was collecting data, I believe there was a way to see your order history, where it listed every order and the time? If it doesn’t have the time, I may have also matched the data to text messages I got. I vaguely remember doing that-I use Google voice, so I can copy and paste from a browser into a spreadsheet

So you do it like me and drive very little dead miles if you're out of zone and i get an $8 for 9 miles i take it to keep cashflowing may stack if not that's OK because I keep cashflowing I also multiapp with dd gh and ic so I do what I can to supplement
commuting counts when you are coming to and fro to a JOB, as a business the moment you leave your property for your BUSINESS, the miles are deductible when you are ACTIVE and in between deliveries and driving to stage yourself at a hotspot. its a business, so all miles are deductible. you are allowed 3 years of losses for any business in a row or intermittently. Add your miles and you will see that GIG JOBS are just a different type of money loan industry. Like those money lending places borrow 250 to pay back 300. your mileage and wear and tear out pace your profits along with supplies and meals (UNABLE TO SECURE A PROPER MEAL). MILEAGE is KING when it comes to deductibles and never use gas expenses.
The IRS doesn’t distinguish between “business” and “job” in the way you suggest. Any miles between your home and a “job site”, whether self employed or otherwise, are considered “commuting” and not tax deductible (as a side note, if your “job site” is your house, your first and last trips of the day are “commutes”). The example I gave was that if you have to commute to a zone directly from your house-the zone (first place you’d be ready to take a delivery) would be considered a job site. This is the generally accepted interpretation: entrecourier.com/delivery/delivery-contractor-taxes/mileage-and-car-expense/what-miles-can-i-claim-grubhub-postmates-doordash-uber-eat-instacart/
Can you receive and order, and if so, can you reasonably expect to accept it? If the answer is no and you’re coming from or headed to your house (or somewhere else not “business” related), you’re commuting.
The distinction probably makes very little difference for most people, but I just want to be clear

You can’t use a VOIP number or any other “fake” number, even non VOIP numbers that you pay for through apps. So the only way to use a different number is to actually get another phone and another number.
You can see the solution in my pinned comment. They started catching on after I did this, but I worked through it with a few people who contacted me. They were able to use a friend's phone to signup and then switch to Google Voice.

@@buthong When I first did it, I thought it wouldn’t work for that same reason. I don’t know why it works. My best guess is that Doordash doesn’t use the SSN for ID checks. It’s possible they don’t even store it. They may just pass it straight on through to Chekr for the background check. I’m not a lawyer, but it’s possible there’s a legal reason Doordash doesn’t store your SSN or otherwise use it in this way.

After talking to some people, this appears to work for Doordash and Grubhub, but not Uber Eats-probably for the reason you just described. They all have different requirements, and those requirements may vary from market to market-AFAIK, DD and GH use documents they collect for verification only and don’t store the data, so they aren’t running comparisons on other users. (Crucially, that doesn’t mean they couldn’t in the future)
That’s why, for example, Uber Eats will notify you when your insurance is about to expire and the other two don’t-UE inserts that data into their database and keeps track. Truth be told, Uber Eats has been in this game longer than the other two, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the others followed suit. Silicon Valley companies in general have a “don’t automate until it becomes a problem” mentality, so the less time a company has been around, the easier it is to exploit stuff like this -one topic of my video coming out tomorrow

What if you register a car for UE, and did the deliveries on a motorcycle, will UE know?

@@callmelil If in an area where a motorcycle is allowed on Doordash but not on UE. Also motorcycle/scooters are dirt cheap, to save on gas, and motorcycles are fun, and in California if there's insane traffic you can just cut through it because filtering is legal.

Where I live in London, you can be approved to take deliveries on a bike, and they track your speed. They have like a “two strike and you’re out” policy just for going over something like 25mph-they assume you’re driving or taking a motorcycle when it’s not allowed. Obviously, no such speed restriction exists in cars vs motorcycle, but do your research and make sure you can’t get caught. Also bear in mind, the orders they give you may be different. I’m led to believe if they think you’re driving a car, they’ll give you drinks that need cup holders, or giant orders you couldn’t possibly take on a motorcycle. Personally, I’d find it harder to multi-app, but I suppose traffic might still make it make more sense-just some things to think about

Early schedule and top dasher only apply if you meet the criteria on a certain day. I’m not sure about early schedule, but top dasher requires you meet the requirements AT midnight on the last day of the month. If you do, you qualify for the entire next month. If not, tough luck.
Early schedule, you have to qualify on (I want to say) Thursday to qualify for the following week. Even if you meet the criteria today, but didn’t on the deadline, you have to wait until the next week

@@CristoferVidz I haven't been able to see anything specific to your area, but Ihave seen some (rare) reports of early access just disappearing, and I experienced it myself in early 2020 when I was doing just Doordash. DD doesn't really offer any details as to why, and explanations from other dashers are just speculative. They typically happen in Jan and Feb. My own guess is that it's so slow that there are NO schedule blocks available at all, or that they have enough "top dashers" that they expect to fill all needed work. This is essentially what Grubhub does too, when it's slow. This is one of the biggest problems with this gig work-it's not just insecure in the long run, but it can be insecure from day to day and week to week.
Google voice doesn't work for dd anymore my friend tried it the other day. If anyone has tried to use a new real phone number and it work please let me know I am tryn to get back in 2.
I believe some voice numbers show up as “voip” and some others show up as real. You can also try apps TextMe and TextNow. It’s the same where sometimes they show up real and sometimes they don’t. If you know your way around development stuff, you might be able to use a transactional SMS service like twilio.
But if you’re serious about getting back up and you’ve tried everything else, you can get real sims for as little as $5
Note that you only have to get the initial confirmation right. You can switch to your Google voice number once you’re already signed up..so a friend could theoretically lend you their phone for 5 min
You can get a mint mobile sim on Amazon for $1 with 7 day trial.
Also, check on craigslist jobs for areas where they need dashers. Otherwise you'll be in wait-list hell...

So you talk about reactivation and what you’re saying is you really have to work around the system and you’re not getting reactivated you’re actually creating a whole new identity pretty much in order to get your ability to use the platform again
You ARE getting reactivated, because you’re getting activated…again (ie “re-“), but yes, you are correct. It’s the only legit way to actually get reactivated after you’ve been “fully deactivated”. Any one who tells you how to appeal to Doordash or pay them X to do it for you is pedaling a scam. DD’s deactivation decisions are final. I have to remove about a dozen comments from this video everyday coming from these scammers

As a person who has worked support for multiple we known technology financial companies that giving out accurate information is prioritized. but I don't know if a company keeps the same company culture integrity if it is outsourced and if they would have the same standards as we would if it was located here in the US.
I feel the fact they are in a another country that they untouchable. So they might think it is ok to put on a charade of trouble shooting my account and they think it is a normal thing for a company to lie and waste peoples time.
I feel like it's f@ckd up I'm being given a false hope that my account is fine and it will be fixed soon, when in reality they're lying and my deactivation is true. I would be happier if they just straight up tell me to move on my account is deactivated than waiting for them to email me that they have resolved the issue.

Taking low paying, low/no tip orders is just stupid. It's a business, you want to get paid as much as possible for your time. There is a reason DD gives you 'perks' to accept over 90% of offers, so you think you're getting something for working for low pay. "You can work anytime you want", of course you can, they love people taking their low paying orders! Spend all your income on gas, wear/tear/maintenance of vehicle for low pay!

I only got one 1099 from Doordash. I assume it's because both accounts are attached to my SSN, but it's good practice to collect your own data, because you can always report the income without a 1099 if they it's not included.

@@AWFMEMPHIS I haven't heard either way in the last couple of months, but when I published this (Feb), I helped 8 people get back on..so it was working at least 2 months ago. Important to note you should signup with a real phone number (try a friend's) and then switch to Google Voice after you're confirmed. They seem to reject some of the voice numbers on signup now

If you get deactivated can you just use the same address but no apartment number?
There’s almost certainly an algorithm that decides how “dangerous” you are based on the info you entered. It’s impossible for me to say exactly what various combinations of information will get you flagged vs not. The problem with your address is whatever you enter, you need to be able to retrieve stuff from, but I think having the exact address would be major points against you in that algorithm. Will simply removing the apartment number stop their algorithm from recognizing it as the same address? Hard to say, but if for any reason, they have a person check it, they’ll know straight away it’s you.

I do still live in current address as when activated & already created a new email. My name has multiple letters in it, should I purposely miss a letter out? Yeah, his "big money" hes making is because he lives in the most expensive city in the world. Good luck making this kind of money is 99.9% of America! I dash in a 130k population city in Texas that is a medical hub (big money making customers) along with many business owners (aka a city that's richer than the average city) and I'd be lucky to make $200-$250 for 12 hours - and you can't work 12 hrs a day, everyday, without burnout. And you can't dash "any time", it has to be busy if not scheduled, but again, in one of the largest cities in the world, I'm sure it's always busy

As a programmer myself, I suspect that they have some sort of algorithm that decides if someone needs to be investigated. Each piece of identifiable information would be assigned a number, and all of them factor into a “score”-your name alone probably isn’t enough to trigger it, but I would be willing to bet that first, middle, and last names all factor into that score, and by giving yourself a different middle name (adding it or taking it away), you are probably decreasing your chances of hitting the threshold for investigation.

I don't wanna change my phone number in order to create a new dasher account , that would be too inconvenient. Do you have any advice on how I should go about getting a new phone number that I can use for door dash? I never fully multi apped on all 3. I flirted with it at the beginning of my time doing this work, but door dash was so consistent I didn't have to think and the others just got in the way as I was already on dash orders. Then I got deactivated for abusing the platform, learned my lesson with that. Now I've been back to multi apping using GrubHub and Uber eats which doing those two I'm actually making more money than I was in door dash, although I'm having to expand the area where I'm delivering to do that. Anyways, I'm dying to get door dash back and try to multi app using all 3, and also I'm planning to travel again and want to be able to do door dash again.
Thank you! After chatting with some people from this video, it seems you need to use a real phone number when you signup. Use a friend or family member's, but once you have signed up with a fresh phone number, you can switch it. I never switched it back to my old one, but I did switch all my gig apps to a Google voice number
