Wanted to correct a couple of mistakes people have kindly pointed out. 1) At around the 2:01 mark I said "Dead Sea" when I should have said Caspian Sea. Got the two mixed up for some reason. 2) At around the 5:50 mark I called the Hijacker a "Hacker." Guess I was thinking of the PLA unit at the time.
Hackers would fit the GLA so wel, financial terrorism, ransomware. PLA hackers are just North Koreans stealing money from banks (like IRL they do the thing) but GLA hackers would be inventive, doing electronic crimes no one has ever thought of before, new crimes that need entirely new names and develop into their own niche cybercrime industries.
Agreed! I love the GLA, their amazing and have my favorite units of all time for this game! Their amazing! Fuck the Geneva convention, it’s now the Geneva suggestion!
GLA Toxic general is the favorite general of one of my friend. That, combined with the fact I mainly play PLA Nuke general, and both of us have a rather unhealthy obsession with lobbing superweapons and support powers in the most ineffective way possible for the lulz, led to many in our friend group saying that the map in which we fought each other are still uninhabitable to this day. Ah, I miss the old days of LAN party.
Ha ha i remember back in the day in an internet cafe this guy challenged one of my friends he playing the US, while my friend played GLA. It was ridiculous how the guy raged quit in front of us, mainly cause my friend managed to get one of the guys dozers and build a few reactors and Particle Cannon. An just drop a mix of Particle and Scud storm on his base guys raged quit so hard it was funny.
Yep, LAN parties were the bomb back then. It was a good way to socialize and congregate even with PC games. I do think the toxic general is the worst one. Toxin just is a very niche thing and focusing on it isn't that great an idea. His gamma upgrade does make it effective enough that I rank him about Kwai but I do think he is the second worst general. I think Jazzeeze is the best GLA general though he kind of is helpless against a good opponent. However if the opponent makes a mistake he can punish that mistake really hard. Kassad has the fewest bonuses and most of his stuff is not bad but also not super great. His camouflaged buildings can be annoying but usually it's still very easy to know where the base is. Rebels are also too weak to do much damage and capturing buildings inside a base is very hard because it just takes too long.
@Commmander 64 they thought i was a typical terrorist for Halloween, so i submitted a pic for him as well as the audio files (that i could find on UA-cam). I should mention that the few C&C fans that my school did have got it immediately.
Could "Kassad" be a play on words for "Qassam Brigades" in Palestine? They also dig underground tunnels and build bases there. They have no base on the surface Now that I think about it I dont understand why is Israel still attacking the surface instead of the tunnels
@@musing.quotes No it came from Arabic word Hassad but spelled wrong, intentionally or otherwise. And EVERY single middle eastern -terrorist- freedom fighters make use of tunnel network, be it Afghan Mujaheddin, Al Qaeda, Iraqi freedom fighters, ISIS. It's not specific to any group.
@@musing.quotes nah the game came out 2003 and Hamas was popularized 2006 after their win in the election in gaza. Kassad is just an arabic name for men albeit not so common. The tunnels and underground bases i believe are mainly inspired by the taliban, they used to use tunnels and have underground bases in mountains and other terrain
Only true Generals fans can hear this: AH greetings general, do not think i cannot see your spies flying over my base! Please look all you wish for this maybe the last time you'll ever see my stronghold, as you can see my defences are impenetrable and my toxic weapon systems will poison your troops long before they can reach me
5:45 But remember, by campaign lore of ZH, prince Kassad is the only one to utilize stealth tech and he wouldn't share it with other generals, so you forced him and attacked him and killed him in second mission of GLA and you took his tech. It's not that he wouldn't want to use stealth, it's that he didn't have such technology.
Kassad only had the Sneak Attack Tunnels and GPS Scramblers to himself. Nothing is preventing Thrax, Juhziz or anyone else in the GLA from using Camo Netting on buildings or stealth specialists.
Jethild the only UA-camr I see about command and conquer and making the series alive I love your passion for command and conquer making the stories of the command and conquer
As I understand it, the playable version was originally given the upgrade during development but it was deemed to powerful for skirmish matches and cut. There are still unused voice lines relating to the upgrade should you ever mod a map to have the campaign version of his tech tree
Well the GLA aren't just your typical insurgents. They have a full fledged army, have access to tanks, acquired superweapons, has toxin weapons, has AA weapons that could be a pain for the air force, etc
@@DylanoRevs Not to Mention they can Instigate Riots from From Third World Countries and can Salvage Equipments and Give everyone AK 47 (I know its Funny), They also Mastered Guerilla Warfare and Took it into an extreme Level By Building Tunnel Networks They are Literally Taliban and Al Qaeda with Captain America Serum.
i love how detailed you are with your all lore videos and mentioning all the references, key points ,explaining many concept and interconnected facts all across the series
Mods of the game make use of the stages for Juhziz and Fai in the generals challenge. The former takes place in a desert plain that has demo trap fields that make Prince Kassad's traps look modest.
Juhziz stage is ridicilous like i understand he is a demolition expert but THAT much high powered demo trap fields is excessive that i just say "Fuck it" And spam Air
Great video as always. Ngl fighting Prince Kassad in challenge mode was both challenging and annoying because every single thing he has is camouflaged and it took me nearly an hour just to find his single annoying camo building that a worker randomly built.
For buggies, use Avengers and always have Comanches just behind the defenses to retaliate. :3 For China.. I always like having some nuke cannons just firing at the ground to the entrances of my base xD
That is a what Kassad user like me leaned on. Scatter buildings all over the map, position tunnel networks at the front of Arms dealers and just outside an enemy base. Load up on buggies and quads, then let the sparks fly 😅 Worst case scenario, stash some workers on a far corner, then rebuild bases from there. Win or lose, it will be a fun 3 hour hide and seek match 😂
Dr thrax being so mysterious kinda makes sense considering his addiction would leave him on the hit list of many people including those inside the gla considering that a gla cell joins you in the final USA mission
Also to note regarding Kassad's Hijackers, they also maintain their stealth even while moving... But like with the regulars in the GLA regular army, why waste your money investing in Hijackers when you have a perfectly usable Jarmen Kell to pilot snipe vehicles instead?...
Because hijackers is reusable. Like american pilot, when the vechicle get destroyed hijacker will be ejected from the destroyed vechicle safely and prepare to hijack the next one. They are pretty much like yuri clone + terror drone.
Never underestimate the power of Kassad's Hijacker. I've seen and experience many Challenge and Skirmish matches won and lost because of them. Being able to walk directly to enemy unseen and steals the most powerful unit of the enemy and turn them against their former owner is something to be fear.
You can make Hijackers straight away after building a barracks so you can quickly send one to your opponents base to steal a dozer and use his own army against him or just build power plants to double the productions speed of buildings and units Jarmen requires you to have a palace
Poor Prince Kassad, he just want to get Black Lotus as his princess xD Always love GLA commanders, they have the best responses. Shame Demo didn't get his own stage.
Great video, as always. If I could add anything to it, it would be that the three GLA generals were supposed to have their somewhat unique Command Center designs, but they wernt unused in the final release of the game. Pictures can be found on the C&C Wiki (in the gallery section of the "Command Center" page). Also, General Juhziz was supposed to have his own unique Scud Storm structure design (since he uses explosive rockets) - smaller and more triangular than the typical model.
General's Challenge mode is still one of my favorite things to come out of C&C and the enemy General's taunts and quips was a big part of that. Thanks for this wonderful overview!
This video shows how much Jethild loves C&C. He dont just provided us with lores but also some tips that I didnt know can such as Jerman Kell on bike. Good work and keep it up. Love to see the other 2 factions lores as well.
These lore videos made me realize how carefully the lore was written and true events have been translated to game mechanics. You realized that events have been hyperbolized but you can see the thread to real events. Very good writing.
C&C fact : with demolition or antrax gamma upgrades. Scud storm with said upgrades are capable of destroying other superweapon by themself ( destroyed within the strike for demolition, severely damage and slowly rotten away by antrax )
@@nowanimportant8887 originale they intended that you fight as final boss against Ironside as any USA General, Deathstrike as any GLA General and leang as any China General. But then they run Out of time and made leang the Final Boss for any General. Ironsides and Deathstrikes quotes are still in the gamefiles.
@@Pochi361 Yep. And I think that, out of all the cut Boss generals, Ironside is probably the hardest one to deal with since the boss generals have all of the good tech and none of the inherent weaknesses.
Prince kassad was my favourite general from GLA tactically. You started the game with no tanks. Everyone else had better ones than you. So it always made sense to steal the enemies tanks and irritate the heck out of their armies dissolving into a green wave.
As a kid I was more of a Dr Thrax guy who used angry mobs and toxins to clear out bases in seconds with Kassad being my least favorite cause I was a newbie who didn't know that information is really powerful and thought having no tanks means really bad xd
@@TerminaBroTheFirst absolutely right. I only chose him because he was the hardest of the generals for GLA as he plays so different. I like gimmicks. So being able to surprise people with a bad general always excited me. Anti infantry. Dr thrax was a safe call.
Aside from Chinese Nuke General which is my first favorite, GLA Toxin General was my second favorite to play as. Laser of course being a third. GLA Toxin General can be quite the devastating force since their toxin weapons could just melt anything, but took effort to take out heavily armored vehicles. It’s all about turning the battle field into a toxic waste land, making it harder for your enemies to repair or reinforce when there is a toxic cloud floating around slowly chipping away at everything.
it's actually a good move for thrax to enhance the toxicity of his scud storms. the advantage is that enemies cannot rebuild at the area struck by his scud storms as easily as they could if it's not thrax they are fighting.
I agree, when challenging him I had to wait for the toxins to dissipate from the strike of his SCUD Storms. Spacing my buildings out far from each other helps a bit though.
But the regular scud storm still leaves toxins behind so the area denial isn't unique to Dr Thrax. The only difference is that Anthrax Gamma just makes it more dangerous to move units through after the initial strike
Since I was a kid, i only played campaign and skirmish of both generals and zero hour. But now that I downloaded it again, i tried challenge mode. My first opponent was Dr. thrax. His voice lines taunting me was so damn cheesy I loved it and made me question why I didn't try challenge mode before.
Another great video Jethild, thank you. I can be a real prick when operating with Prince Kassad, i like using saboteurs and hijackers :p Looking forward for your next Lore video!
Great content as always! I'm looking forward to the USA and China Lores. Also, why not cover the C&C Generals Mods as well like Reborn, Rise of the Reds, Contra, etc? They maybe not part of the original lore but are interesting stories nonetheless. Maybe these Mods can be alternate realities?
Rodall “demo” juhziz- is the most benefieted in mods specialy in shockwave mob. Dr thraxx- you laugh is very funny xD. Prince Kassad- use verbal works to demotivate.
Que juhziz no se detenida de demoler todas las estructuras q apenas construía en el shockwave? Sip. Lo recuerdo muy… bien… o espera q también me demolió la memoria. xD
My favorite Play General For GLA is kassad because of Stealth and hard to see because kassad is not easy to use and need players to be experience with play kassad.
I wonder what your own general would be like, dear reader, in terms of weapons and tech used, but also specialisation. As for me: Name: Prof. Thyrus Sendria (Former) theoretical Physicist Nickname: The Futurist Affiliation: USA (Military Attaché from Germany) Motto: "The future of warfare, brought to you today." Specialization: Experimental/futuristic tech (Superheated Plasma, AI controlled vehicles etc) Likes capturing enemy buildings in order to diversify own tech options, prioritizing buildings that allow for creation of workers and vehicles. Special lines: Start of encounter: "It seems I underestimated you, commander. However what is science if not learning from past mistakes?" Jermann Kell: "Jermann Kell, the world's most unprolific sniper. I wish I could learn about his methods." Black Lotus: "Ah, the legendary hacker, let's see if my latest security updates hold up against her." Colonel Burton: "It seems Project Lazarus makes sure all those reports of your death can be safely ignored, not that you seem to be intent on thanking me." SCUD-Storm: "A SCUD-Storm? Ready the clean-up crews, our enemy intents to make a mess." Nuclear Silo: "Nuclear weapons, the greatest failure of scientists and humanity as a whole, now turned on me and my men." Particle-Beam: "Clean, wasteless technology. Just imagine what we could do with it were it not for the constant wars." Capturing/building second superweapon: "I am not a religious person, but in this case it seems to be appropriate to say: Pick a god and pray." Holding three ready superweapons: "Another world awaits. And you're going." Edit because new ideas for techs: EMP Grenade: Replaces flashbangs on Rangers, stuns vehicles and buildings for a short time, has no effect on stinger sites, detonates Demo traps and mines. Armorbane Missiles: Upgrades for vehicles with missiles, attacks now reduce enemy armor for a short time. Phase Assault: Teleports 3/4/5 experimental Phase Tanks onto the battlefield, replaces paradrop and requires longer recharge. Phase Tank: Replacement of the Paladin Tank. More expensive in exchange for additional plasma thrower which acts similar to a short burst flamethrower, decent damage against armor and buildings. Has Phase shift ability, teleports the tank over a short distance, but leaves it shut down for 10 seconds afterwards. Fusion Bombs: Equips bombers with weakened nuclear hydrogen fusion bombs that leave behind no radiation, increases damage and splash of all bombs. AI Pilots: Makes all vehicles immune to hijacking effects.
Can't say if thought of that before, very interesting. I'd probably make some kind of Chinese aircraft general with better migs and helixes, and more unit options
Well, here's my two cents. Faction: GLA Rank: Unknown Branch: Spider cell Specialisation: sabotage and ambushes, stolen technology (use of foreign units, buildings, or upgraded units.) I feel like one major ability would be changing rebel ambushes to either a mix of rebels and rpg troopers, or change it to sabotour and hijackers. Opening quote: "I see you've come to test your luck against me, unfortunately I rig the deck." Opening speech: "well, what do we have here. A commander come to test their might against my men. Well general, I wish you luck, because I always put the odds in my favour. Good luck general, and watch your back." Colonel Burton: "ah, colonel Burton enters the fray. I must say, I have always admired his work." Black lotus: "a sabotage specialist. Black lotus is good, but not as good as my men general." Jarmen Kell: "Jarmen Kell joins your fight. My snipers have already set up vantage points." Scud storm: "thrax and juhziz both enjoyed these weapons, even kassad and mohmar as well, to bad yours won't fire today." Nuclear missile: "a nuke, general, don't you think that's a bit overkill. My men will come and have a look to make sure it's good." Particle cannon: "Ah, a particle cannon. I remember a fellow general using one to destroy an aircraft carrier. Well, I won't let yours destroy my base general." Victory quote: "return to these sands once you've licked your wounds, I will still be here for a game general." Defeat: "good job general, but mohmar will avenge me, he will avenge us." Defeat 2: "even with the deck stacked, you defeated me. Maybe I should of marked my cards."
Name: Edmund Forrest Faction: USA Rank: 4-star general Specialty: Special Forces Background: Helped trained UK Special Forces and Royal Marines before becoming a general. As a general, he helped advance US Special Forces training. Features: • Green Berets instead of Rangers. (Green Berets deal slightly more damage and are tougher than Rangers, and use Grenade Launchers instead of Flash-bang Grenades, and come with them by default. Grenade Launchers not only clear garrisons, but are also good against light vehicles.) • Missile Defenders are tougher and their missiles are harder to jam. • Colonel Burton plants bombs faster. • Starts with Pathfinders, but they need Strategy Center. • Osprey (replaces Chinook; can carry 12 soldiers) • Humvees start with TOW missiles. • Bradley (replaces Crusader tank; can carry 8 soldiers; is more mobile, but has less armor than the Crusader tank) • Starts with Advanced Training. • Chemical Suits don't need Strategy Center and can be researched at Barracks • Gets Rank 1 Paradrop upon having a Strategy Center. Paradrop has a slightly shorter cooldown. • Fire Bases heal infantry within. • Green Beret training (makes Green Berets starts as veterans) • No Paladin tanks Quotes: • Start 1: "You should know, I trained British Special Forces." • Start 2: "Let's see if you're a match for me and my boys." • Start 3: "Alright boys, we've got a new tango." • Opening: "Hello, General. I hope you're ready for what's coming. My boys are the best trained in the United States military, if not the world, and they have itchy trigger fingers." "Prepare yourself, General, for you're about to get schooled." • Player builds a Barracks: "You think your men are a match for mine? I highly doubt that, but I'd like to see it." • Player builds a War Factory: "Vehicle support is important even in Special Operations. I agree with you there." • Player builds an Airfield: "Perhaps an Airfield will give you an advantage over my boys." • Player builds a lot of infantry: "That's a lot of men, General, but did they receive as much training as my boys, or did you just cut corners? I'm willing to bet it's the latter." • Player builds a lot of vehicles: "Here's some advice, General: An armored assault without infantry support is blind." • Player builds a lot of aircraft: "Air support is fine and dandy and all, but it can't do much without boots on the ground." • Player builds a lot of buildings: "That's quite a base you got there. My boys are up for some hide-and-seek, no problem." • Player builds a Particle Cannon: "A particle cannon? How'd you get that? Ain't that top secret?" • Player builds a Nuclear Missile: "Don't worry, General, my boys are trained to operate in radiated battlefields as well as they could regular battlefields." • Builds a SCUD Storm: "A SCUD Storm? My boys can deal with that, as they did in Kazakhstan." • Activates a Particle Cannon: "All troops, be advised: hostile Particle Cannon activated." • Launches a Nuclear Missile: "Well, s*** just got real. Alright, boys, prepare for a counterattack! We've got a silo to destroy!" • Launches a SCUD Storm: "All men, spread out! SCUD Storm launch detected!" • Trains Colonel Burton: "Colonel Burton? Challenge accepted!" • Trains Black Lotus: "Even if my systems are shut down, my boys can operate, no problem. Still, we'll deal with her." • Trains Jarmen Kell: "All forces, be advised: Jarmen Kell has been discovered in this area. Keep your guard up at all times!" • Destroys Airfield: "My boys can operate with no air power, no problem." • Destroys War Factory: "This is but merely a setback. My boys don't need vehicular support." • Player destroys Forrest's Barracks: "We will avenge those boys in that Barracks." • Player destroys Forrest's Command Center: "Just because you destroyed my Command Center, don't think this means you've won, General." • Forrest destroys Player's Airfield: "You just lost your Airfield. There goes one advantage against my forces." • Forrest destroys Player's War Factory: "There goes your War Factory. I wonder what you would do without vehicles." • Forrest destroys Player's Barracks: "Now how do you expect to win without boots on the ground?" • Forrest destroy's Player's Command Center: "So you weren't in that Command Center, eh, General? Color yourself lucky." • Player gets low power: "You're out of power, eh? My boys can operate even without any power, can yours do the same?" • Player gets low funds: "Out of money? I'd lend you some, but there is one teeny tiny problem: We are fighting each other." • Forrest gets low funds: "Damn, gotta manage my spending in future." • Player captures Oil Derrick: "You found an oil derrick. OK, you can keep that one." • Player captures Artillery Platform: "My boys can deal with artillery fire, no problem." • Player captures Oil Refinery: "Methinks you're trying to use vehicles to take me on, judging by that Oil Refinery you captured. My boys are trained to deal with the heaviest of tanks or the most elusive of jets." • Forrest is losing: "You seem to have the upper hand. Let's see if my boys can turn that around." • Forrest is losing 2: "You're beating me. I am impressed, General." • Forrest has lost: "So you have defeated me. Bravo, general. You are a worthy rival." • Forrest defeated post game: "How did you defeat me? You must tell me your secret!" • Player is losing: "This operation was successful. And you are beginning to lose, General." • Player is losing 2: "You're losing, General. What will you do now?" • Player has lost: "You lose, General. Now, you know the capabilities of my forces." • Player defeated post game: "I advise you to learn from this battle and, once you do, challenge me again."
Personally, I think Thrax and Kassad are dead. In the first GLA mission, the liaison says as much. “Dr.Thrax may have died for the cause, but that is inconsequential.” Kassad would be seen as a traitor and killed. It’s clear that Kassad’s remnants rejoined GLA. The interesting bit is this: there is a cut GLA boss for General’s challenge that would have been Mommar “Deathstrike”. Supposedly he was the GLA Generals’ teacher and taught them all how to run a military. I honestly think we play as Deathstrike during the GLA campaign as the liaison says Thrax’s death was inconsequential. Juziz was the only loyal General out of the 3 and likely provided the tech needed for us to win those battles.
The key words in that line is "may have died" so in my opinion, it doesn't really confirm or deny anything. There's also the fact that the GLA disavowed Dr. Thrax when they thought his experiments went to far and were a danger to their own cause, which could have hampered the GLA's attempts to recruit new people. So better to just assume that he died, so that someone less crazy could step up and take command. Of course, there's also the fact that he was going to be brought back in Generals 2, but that game got cancelled, so I prefer not to treat anything related to it as part of the official Generals lore. Same thing when it comes to cut content, like general Deathstrike or Ironside.
In the canceled Generals 2, it was revealed that all of the GLA Generals managed to survived including Prince Kassad, Dr. Thrax, Demo, and a now promoted General Jarmen Kell, in charge of the infantry and snipers division. Prince Kassad entrusted his empire to Jarmen Kell as his General and worked his way through the ranks to earn himself the new "Stealth General" rank. Dr. Thrax of course survived, but he already is in bad shape. He had multiple organ failures and his body slowly being eaten by toxins. But Dr. Thrax still insists being fine and had an obsession to create a perfect toxin that will melt the world to its core. As for General Demo, he lost his left leg after he tried to escape and accidentally stepped on a landmine. He now manages the assault/demolitions division and apparently trained his son of the ways of becoming the true "Jihad" that will someday surpass him. He now have access to nuclear weapons.
Been attacking Prince Kassad, I always prioritize the industrial center. As incomplete as the shockwave mod is, it has a new tech building located there: a radio jammer.
Good Sir, I love your dedication and enthusiasm. I love and loved everything about C&C. I have so many cool memories of the countless hours I have spent on C&C. I realise now that if I had dedicated that time to my education or sports or other social pursuits my life could be different...But I wouldn't have changed a thing. 😎... The first mission on C&C -1 ( I think it's called Tiberium Dawn)..the one where there are missile boats firing and the player has to set-up a beachhead as GDI is engrained in my memories...like it was yesterday....As I said.. I loved all aspects of the series in all its avatars.... But Sir - what is your motivation of making theses Lore videos....? Would love to know and keep it up! 🎉
I always play as Prince Kassad becausehis style fit me the best (I just wish I could build those snipers that he warns when a opposing Jarmen Kell is recruited)
Out of all faction, my favourite faction is GLA. Idk what was it, but it is super fun to play it, especially cassad. And then shockwave comes in which makes the game even better.
Agree I find Interesting to the Thrax Faction in shockwave mode because he have his own Scorpion tank which can load up with Toxin missile stringer can fire toxin propelled missile and his own Chinese Equivalent Neutron weapon which is chemical Weaponry that can kill driver
This is probably your best video I would say. I remember I loved playing as Dr Thrax allot when I was a wee little lad and played C&C generals. Ahhh till be 13 again.
competent analysis! I’m telling you as a general of demolitions! Favorite game of youth, we played in the Internet cafe for days and nights 4vs4)) Thank you 🤝😁
I've noticed when I did a thrax on thrax skirmish that the chem troopers are resilient to even gamma anthrax. They still could die but it would take awhile
My favourite Dr.Thrax trick is that enough stinger sites can actually take down an Aurora bomber before it drops its payload, the missiles miss but the toxin cloud from each slightly damages it, enough can take it down.
Based on the Lore on the 2nd GLA war, here are my opinions of their fate: General Rodall Juhziz was KIA and later his sucessor, Adela Baskova taken his place Dr. Thrax indeed survive, it is unknown how did he survive the Toxins that destroyed his base completely, instead of being look scary, he looks like a hippie Prince Kassad's fate remains unknown, don't even know what happened to him since Egypt, and no records in the 2nd GLA War These are what I learned from the cancelled Generals 2
To me since Dr Thrax is being code name I think cancelled General 2‘s Dr Thrax is his follower whom survived during Zero hour conflict and exact vengeance on west and China
If you already do a c&c lore series, may I suggest looking into Dune RTS series also? The grandfather of RTS should be given its series too, especially now, as the subject became more relevant. Great content btw!
I wish the campaigns in Zero Hour were more story focused, if only so we could see more of these hilarious psychos. Who wouldn't have loved to see more of them instead of the boring news anchors from the campaigns?

His tactics (according to his voicelines) seems to be combined tactics of all 3 GLA generals

Great video as always. Ngl fighting Prince Kassad in challenge mode was both challenging and annoying because every single thing he has is camouflaged and it took me nearly an hour just to find his single annoying camo building that a worker randomly built.
the most annoying thing is the buggys. they out range defenses
@@Revkor yet they are a great advantage when you play one.
@@starwolfcyberlight4546 use air
For buggies, use Avengers and always have Comanches just behind the defenses to retaliate. :3
For China.. I always like having some nuke cannons just firing at the ground to the entrances of my base xD
That is a what Kassad user like me leaned on.
Scatter buildings all over the map, position tunnel networks at the front of Arms dealers and just outside an enemy base.
Load up on buggies and quads, then let the sparks fly 😅
Worst case scenario, stash some workers on a far corner, then rebuild bases from there. Win or lose, it will be a fun 3 hour hide and seek match 😂
Dr thrax being so mysterious kinda makes sense considering his addiction would leave him on the hit list of many people including those inside the gla considering that a gla cell joins you in the final USA mission
They are traitors!
Also to note regarding Kassad's Hijackers, they also maintain their stealth even while moving...
But like with the regulars in the GLA regular army, why waste your money investing in Hijackers when you have a perfectly usable Jarmen Kell to pilot snipe vehicles instead?...
Good observation on Kassad's Hijackers. I hadn't noticed that when I was recording gameplay footage.
@@johncarter4956 Especially against General Kwai. His own Emperor tanks pretty much carried the game as Prince Kassad
You can make Hijackers straight away after building a barracks so you can quickly send one to your opponents base to steal a dozer and use his own army against him or just build power plants to double the productions speed of buildings and units
Jarmen requires you to have a palace

Poor Prince Kassad, he just want to get Black Lotus as his princess xD
Always love GLA commanders, they have the best responses. Shame Demo didn't get his own stage.
I also appreciated his at least apparent respect for Burton.
Funny you mention that as one of Deathstrike's cut lines has him say he'll take her as his bride after he wins.
Thanks for this wonderful overview!

it's strange how happy i got when i saw this thumbnail. made my day go 30 minutes faster~
The only difference is that Anthrax Gamma just makes it more dangerous to move units through after the initial strike
too many ways to clear up toxins. best scuds are from demo they one shot everything

Agreed.
Really appreciate all the hard work you have put in to making these videos. Hope to see more videos covering the other factions.

I wonder what your own general would be like, dear reader, in terms of weapons and tech used, but also specialisation.
As for me:
Name: Prof. Thyrus Sendria
(Former) theoretical Physicist
Nickname: The Futurist
Affiliation: USA (Military Attaché from Germany)
Motto: "The future of warfare, brought to you today."
Specialization: Experimental/futuristic tech (Superheated Plasma, AI controlled vehicles etc)
Likes capturing enemy buildings in order to diversify own tech options, prioritizing buildings that allow for creation of workers and vehicles.
Special lines:
Start of encounter: "It seems I underestimated you, commander. However what is science if not learning from past mistakes?"
Jermann Kell: "Jermann Kell, the world's most unprolific sniper. I wish I could learn about his methods."
Black Lotus: "Ah, the legendary hacker, let's see if my latest security updates hold up against her."
Colonel Burton: "It seems Project Lazarus makes sure all those reports of your death can be safely ignored, not that you seem to be intent on thanking me."
SCUD-Storm: "A SCUD-Storm? Ready the clean-up crews, our enemy intents to make a mess."
Nuclear Silo: "Nuclear weapons, the greatest failure of scientists and humanity as a whole, now turned on me and my men."
Particle-Beam: "Clean, wasteless technology. Just imagine what we could do with it were it not for the constant wars."
Capturing/building second superweapon: "I am not a religious person, but in this case it seems to be appropriate to say: Pick a god and pray."
Holding three ready superweapons: "Another world awaits. And you're going."
Edit because new ideas for techs:
EMP Grenade: Replaces flashbangs on Rangers, stuns vehicles and buildings for a short time, has no effect on stinger sites, detonates Demo traps and mines.
Faction: GLA
Rank: Unknown
Branch: Spider cell
Specialisation: sabotage and ambushes, stolen technology (use of foreign units, buildings, or upgraded units.)
I feel like one major ability would be changing rebel ambushes to either a mix of rebels and rpg troopers, or change it to sabotour and hijackers.
Opening quote: "I see you've come to test your luck against me, unfortunately I rig the deck."
Opening speech: "well, what do we have here. A commander come to test their might against my men. Well general, I wish you luck, because I always put the odds in my favour. Good luck general, and watch your back."
Colonel Burton: "ah, colonel Burton enters the fray. I must say, I have always admired his work."
Black lotus: "a sabotage specialist. Black lotus is good, but not as good as my men general."
Jarmen Kell: "Jarmen Kell joins your fight. My snipers have already set up vantage points."
Scud storm: "thrax and juhziz both enjoyed these weapons, even kassad and mohmar as well, to bad yours won't fire today."
Nuclear missile: "a nuke, general, don't you think that's a bit overkill. My men will come and have a look to make sure it's good."
Particle cannon: "Ah, a particle cannon. I remember a fellow general using one to destroy an aircraft carrier. Well, I won't let yours destroy my base general."
Victory quote: "return to these sands once you've licked your wounds, I will still be here for a game general."
Defeat: "good job general, but mohmar will avenge me, he will avenge us."
Defeat 2: "even with the deck stacked, you defeated me. Maybe I should of marked my cards."

@@somerandomdude7785 like red alert?
5:51 ... You mean "hijackers" instead of "hackers", right?
Yes, not sure why I ended up saying "hacker" for that line. Especially since I said Hijackers later.
Well detailed lore video, big plus for subtitles

My favourite Dr.Thrax trick is that enough stinger sites can actually take down an Aurora bomber before it drops its payload, the missiles miss but the toxin cloud from each slightly damages it, enough can take it down.
Juhziz is Megumin's kind of General... *EXPLOSION!!*
well, hello again, retired GLA rebel, and thank you for quality content
Based on the Lore on the 2nd GLA war, here are my opinions of their fate:
General Rodall Juhziz was KIA and later his sucessor, Adela Baskova taken his place
Dr. Thrax indeed survive, it is unknown how did he survive the Toxins that destroyed his base completely, instead of being look scary, he looks like a hippie
Prince Kassad's fate remains unknown, don't even know what happened to him since Egypt, and no records in the 2nd GLA War
These are what I learned from the cancelled Generals 2
To me since Dr Thrax is being code name I think cancelled General 2‘s Dr Thrax is his follower whom survived during Zero hour conflict and exact vengeance on west and China
Hope that you will also do PRC(PLA) and USA
Yep, I plan to do videos on them.
