OOOHHHH NOOOOOOOO Bourbon Bill - this is the one unicorn bottle I was actually able to get in an allocated bottle drop! Now what am I gonna do????? ffffffuuuuddgggeeeeeeee
Trade it for a HH17 lol
I got one recently also. I couldn't care less that most are saying it's nothing special. It's special to me and will be used as a special pour 🤷🏾♂️
This HH 18 was in the May allocated raffle along with a Blanton's Gold and Elmer T Lee among others. I got called third and was able to snag the ETL for $50. I'm glad I didn't get called first because I probably would have picked this HH 18 up and been mega disappointed.
I mean pricing aside from a taste standpoint HH18 is the best of those three but as far as value yeah ETL for $50 you could trade up to a much better bottle with that
I saw a HH 18 once and a friend offered $400 for it. The store passed as the owner wanted it for his collection. He dodged a bullet on that one. I love the Jacob’s Well batch 2 and the ECBP C923 is the best of the ECBP s that I’ve tried. The only one that gives it a run for the money is a 10 year store pick at 135 proof. Great review with lots of great comparisons.
Thanks James and yeah for sure. If you want a HH heritage focus on the HH17 out of three they have done
Now that Hardin's Creek Jacob's Well #2 is stellar - grabbed a few backups of that beast.
Yeah I still
Need to find a backup myself
Wow, some crazy heavy hitters in that video! I'm sure you had a tough evening filming this. Lol. Great job on giving us comparable bottles at different price points. Brilliant!
BTW, I got to try HH17 at a LLS. Owner gave me a pour and, like you, I truly believe it is one of the greatest whiskeys I have ever tasted.
Haha yeah it was a struggle to drink good whiskey like that.
You can double your estimate of c923 secondary
Dang really I saw people offering them for $150 or less just last week
@@bourbonbill Yea I just got one last week in my area (Northern VA) for $150
I saw one today for $130 cash
As always, appreciate the comparison to other bottles.
What microbatch is your C923? A22 or A23?
I forgot to be honest but it was the one many people thought was better
I went to Jim Beam a couple weeks ago. They didn’t have any Hardins Creek. Only Lineage for $250, Little Book and Bookers.
The lineage while super expensive would tempt me. I just got a sample but haven’t reviewed it yet
@@bourbonbill I tried it at the sample bar, then splurged on a bottle
For me, $250 is a special occasion bottle
@@larryowens675I’m sure I’ll love it
What's up Bourbon Bill. Wow I hate to hear you were disappointed and wasted your money. Also the video you did on Sagamore Wiskey I went to go buy it but they were sold out of the one you had in the video so I got Sagamore Rye Wiskey Cask Strength and Sagamore 8year Rye Wiskey Reserve Series. Give me your opinion on those two selections Bourbon Bill I will greatly appreciate it and thank you in advance.
Sure the sagamore 8yr is one of my favorites from them I did a review on it awhile ago and it placed in my top 10 ryes of the year for 2023. Their cask strength is always great a blend of 7yr and 4yr but it’s like 70% 7yr or some thing like that it’s a shelfer in most places sagamore is sold and great value
The Sagamore 8 Year is absolutely stellar - probably the best rye whiskey that nobody talks about. It's up there with Michter's Barrel Strength and other heavy hitter ryes.
@@paulgrace1279yeah agree Sagamore 8yr is a hitter it beats most michters barrel strength to me. They are actually doing a sagamore 9yr this fall
@@bourbonbill yup - heard that when I picked up that glorious Naranja finish bottle.... Top of my list in terms of rye to get this fall
@@paulgrace1279 thanks
Great review @bourbonbill
Thanks
