I grabbed a bottle of it instead of more Eagle Rare or Blanton’s from the grocery store’s last allocated shipment. Paid $49, no regrets. It’s absolutely delicious!
I am glad you guys like it. I did the Connoisseur tasting at the Heaven Hill Experience in Bardstown. We were given ECBP C922, EC Toasted, HH BiB, McKenna 10, and Parker Heritage 2018 (Orange Curacao Finish). When trying to pick my favorite - I had to throw out the PH 2018 because it was such a different flavor profile and in the super rare category that I didn't think it fair to include. With the other 4 - HH BiB was my clear favorite and I was very surprised. In Louisville, you can find these for around $55. I will usually buy one so that I always have 3 bottles in the house. One for the bunker, one to drink when I want to, and one to keep around in case a good friend shows up and I want to crack open a good bottle.
There are so many better products for the price range hih is $50 in my area would much rather get rare breed 4 roses single barrel or even michters rye
@@Non-existent1 I agree that Rare Breed is superior, but it is getting expensive. Around here it is $60. HH BiB supply is increasing and you can find it consistently at $45 now.
@@jthenry8Near me it’s roughly $80 now. Gens like this heaven hill will soon be up to $70-$80 before you know it. BevMos already keep them behind the glass, locked with a BevMo High Star on it. Things like this call for a higher demand of curiosity and makes it more costly in the end
I see it right around $49 when I see it these days, and it’s pretty damn great. One of my favorite bottles I have right now, and one of the few that I have a backup bottle for in case I can’t find it for a while
I actually picked up a bottle of this yesterday and my thoughts were exactly the same. I bought a bottle when this bottle first came out and did not like it much, this years bottling is WAY BETTER. I am a fan of Heaven Hill and similar Jim Beam profile so I am very happy that they have made this better.
ECBP is still great even if not one of their top releases. I don't understand the shade. People chase & pay more for lesser bourbons that are much younger. Fine by me. More for me!!
@@sitori2509 Totally agree because even with ECBP going up in price slightly and varying the age statements a bit, 10+ year bourbon for $80 in this day and age is a great value. Even a weaker batch is great for anyone that want to experience older bourbon for what is a reasonable price in today’s market. I just got a Penelope 9 year for $75, similar situation in my mind, but even once Penelope puts out something with an age statement equal to what ECBP is doing, it’s gonna be more expensive
I’d say a war with some other similar aged & priced (MSRP) bottled in bonds would be fun! For example, the new black label Bardstown Origin Series, EH Taylor Small Batch, Ben Holladay’s Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon, and Old Forester 1897 BIB!
I know the boys don't like Dickel but I am loving the Dickel BiB I picked up last month for $55. Toasted pecans on the nose and sweet tarts of the palate, and a 13 year age statement to boot. I would be interested to see them try the Fall 2008 Dickel BiB in a blind.
I got a bottle Friday and was kinda disappointed because I watched some videos and they said it was crap. Brought it home and it was a good body bourbon. So now I'm glad you liked it because I was wondering if my taster wasn't tasting right. It's not super complex, but drinks really good.
BJ, Just purchase my 1st Bottle today. It's 5pm somewhere. What a fantastic sipper. Cherry, Vanilla, Brown Sugar, light Oak... $50 in Ohio. Liquor Store had 15 cases down to 2 today... Enjoy your guys insight on 100s of videos I have watched. Tom - Cincinnati
I can find this for $45-$60, and like you guys, when I revisited an open bottle, it was brown sugar deliciousness, with a coating finish that ends with a gentle Kentucky hug
Between 46 and 52 here in SE Wisconsin, and it seems that everyone has had their fill of it...sitting on store shelves now....bit agree, great bottle at that price point!
I've blown through at least three bottles of this lately and absolutely loved it , I definitely thought you guys were crazy when I saw an old video and you didn't like it
I am loving this Heaven Hill Bonded! Quickly becoming my go to for a daily pour, as it has flooded the market in Minnesota. 50-55 is the cost. It reminds me of Buffalo Trace, with the Sweetness and caramel, slightly smoother and nutty with big fruit notes on the nose.
I grabbed a bottle of the new issue a couple years agp for about $49. It was ok. I finished it but didn't make any effort to replenish. Maybe I'll give it another try.
Are there any batch numbers on these? I bought a bottle online back in April and I wasn't the biggest fan of it. Still have it sitting on my shelf. I am sure I got one of the early bottles and it drank young and nutty as you guys described. I am tempted to go pick up another bottle (now that it's available on the shelves in NJ) and do a comparison as I assume the bottles available here are the next "better" batches but just want to makes sure I was buying new versus old...
Got one of these paired with ECBP C923, overpaid a little bit, but I doubt it will beat C923, as that is my new favorite bourbon. HH goes about 40 in our Costco's and ive been sleeping on them. I should crack my HH up to see if I need some backups
I didn't care for mine when I first cracked it. I let it sit for a couple months and went back to it as a second chance and was surprised how much I liked it the second time around.
Bought it a couple years ago and I really liked it. I recently purchased another bottle and I also thought it tasted different. I don't have any left of the old bottle to compare to but this one seems less nutty and a little more complex than I remember. I get it for $50 in MO. It's a no-brainer.
Passed on ecbp to pick this up as a gift, then saw reviews and chose to crack it as reviews were meh. I love it, have since tracked down replacements to gift and shelf.
I just grabbed a bottle for $37.99 here in Chicago, and I'm happy with it! Time will tell whether I grab a backup bottle but at that price? Most likely.
ha! welcome to the party. been a fav kinda-findable pour for a while. good news is its starting to trickle into stores on the floor...usually only a few cases which go quick-ish but findable!!! woot!!!
If you want a similar price point - Old Forester 1897. If you want to match it with a high value option - EW White Label or Early Times BIB. Thanks for the review!
Just purchased this bottle in pa hours ago. First time seeing this and I’m sipping it as we speak. Paid $49.99, but wish I bought rarebreed for 48 or ecbp toasted for 49

Compare against Kentucky owls the wiseman Sam retail price store around me has them for freaking $25 and I might buy them all but I don't know if it's as good as that Heaven Hill bottled in bond
Just got a few bottles of this for $39 each at Binny's. I think the regular sticker price at Binny's in Illinois is $49 currently. Crazy how prices can vary.
Picked up a bottle at my local binny's here in Illinois for 42.99 and OGD 114 for 25.99... Not bad compared to what I see other people paying in other states. Perhaps we've found the one thing Illinois has yet to screw up
I'm starting to see it in the low $40's here in Illinois. I got one of the early bottles when it was sort of allocated. I didn't like that bottle. Maybe I should try one of the more recent bottles.
These are pretty easy to find here in northern CA ~50. You should whiskey war it with EHT small batch (also pretty easy to snag in Ca), 1792 BIB, Bardstown origin (white label), maybe a knob creek 12
I was lucky enough to listen to your review with a glass in my hand. I agree it is REALLY good, 1920 will blow it out of the water, but it is really good.
Picked up a bottle of this on a recent trip to Kentucky in May to try something new and it was absolutely awful. Tried it again after a few weeks to see if it opened up and it was just as bad. Interesting to hear that my experience was the same as your initial tasting - and that on retry it was totally different.
Saw somewhere this isn't allocated anymore - don't know if that is true or not. I was able to get a bottle here in Central IL for $42.99 at a local grocery store (Meijer) and Binny's had it on sale for $40 a month ago. Keep up the great content. Cheers!
It's currently on sale for $43 by me. Put it up against Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, New Riff Bottled in Bond or Old Forester 1897. Thanks as always and keep up the great work. Cheers...
