I just discovered your channel, yesterday I think. You have made the best decision in your life to move to the country and live off grid and be independent of all services. You see, I'm 76 years old and so wish that maybe, even around 20 years ago, I had known that this was an optional lifestyle. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at your videos in the past 48 hours. You see, my instincts always told me that the way we were living in the city felt so wrong but I didn't know where to turn or what to do. You have given me the power not to give up hope. I grew up in a small town on the northern bc coast, love the woods! Bear safety was taught regularly in school lol. I agree with most of your reasons for living off grid. Jesus isn't coming, but world war is, especially from our neighbours to the south. I hope you guys have access to a hospital nearby. A friend in northern mb her baby had such a high fever they were having seizures, and that was a scary 5 hour drive to the nearest hospital. Do you have a clearing nearby for a helicopter rescue if needed? Chainsaw accidents, slip and break something, or illness would be a big concern, but safety from random men balances the scales in a big way! Best of luck, guys!
Off grid refers to being off the electrical grid. And in Canada we must charge our batteries with generator power as we dont have sun everyday, especially in the winter months. We still need gas powered plow trucks too, no EVs with plows, lol.
