- At the end of day two, I spoke with several Bassmaster Classic anglers who said that Livescope was hardly a factor and that fish were being caught on traditional methods near the bank. This goes 100% against Randy's prediction. A BASS Nation angler took time to take out Randy's "argument" at the knees!

You saw what you thought you saw on tv. I was actually there. Good try. The press conference proved it. Only one guy out of the top six said he relied on it to 60 to 70% of the time. Everyone else hardly used it at all!

All im going to say, is watchjng the live , i definitely saw heads down , looking at screens 80% of the time. Hamner probably moved more than most anglers the camera was on to be fair.. but the scopes were definitely a factor, cause when that camera focus and zoomed in, we can see that screen and it had the scope on1🤷🏾♂️😂. And Adam Rasmussen was definitely scoping😂

What were you watching! I’m not a Blauket apologist , but Hamner was watching his live scope 100 percent of the time lol….. Granted there was allot of guys not using it in the Derby for sure . Still all the Winners this year in Elites and PBT have all won on FFS !!! I’m not saying for or against, but that is the fact!
If you talk to the guy and get the details, you'll find out that it was not the factor everyone said it was. Yes, everyone head on their boat but even some didn't have it turned on. Hamner used it off and on but it did not seal the win. The weather the final day didn't allow for it. It was not the determining factor in the tournament.
@@cerebraltackle I watched every minute Hamner was on cam . His head was down , then he would make multiple casts ! He dame sure didn’t turn his off ! And the second place finisher was in total open water scoping for sure ! Hamner wasn’t waiting to cast before he saw a fish like he usually does I will give you that . But the main reason there was scoping issues was that there were multiple species tightly grouped together. So once a group was spotted multiple cast were made before looking again. And yes allot of power fishing was going on . Even Fujita was throwing a SB lol…. But like I said ffs played a major role in the top Two guys fish . And don’t kid yourself FFS will be a MAJOR player the rest of the season going forward. I don’t give a dame about Blaukat he is coo coo for Coco puffs . I’m retired and watch every minute of the streaming .Plus pro fishing could go away tomorrow and I wouldn’t care . I personally fish allot of 100 to 1000 acre lake and watch guys catching crappie in the middle of Summer, picking individual fish off and catching them in traditional winter schools . Eventually it will cause damage to the fisheries. Multiple 400 boat tournaments are really hurting lakes ! Hopefully state fish and game will step in limit tournaments and do what Fork does and make catch and immediate release .

Hamner made it clear in his interview with Advanced Angler here on youtube that he relied heavily on forward facing sonar to guage how fish reacted to his jerkbait. This is the first time I've seen one of your videos/comments. You might not realize it, but you come across as having a terrible attitude...especially compared to Blaukat. I won't be back.

It was won by a guy that scoped the whole time.Not taking anything away from Hammner. He did what he had to do. And from what everyone saw on live, it was about 80 percent scoping, at least? It doesn't matter what Randy Blauket says or what anybody says, pro level fishing is now pretty much exclusively done live on a screen. It obviously gives anglers an advantage to cast to fish live that you can see and search for infront of you, and watch them react live, etc. We dont need Randy Blauket 's opinion or anyones, we have eyes and ears, and common sense. I believe, like Chris Lane, Mark Menendez, Hank Parker, Randy, my cousin Jim, et al, that live technology is a step too far when it comes to technology and fishing. We happen to share the same opinion about that, as do a lot, probably most people, it seems. We are not in a cult or are acolytes of Randy Blauket. Our opinions are just similar. Regardless that ffs is a skill to learn, it crosses a line for me, and the tech is only going to get better. What is your line when it comes to live technology and fishing?
I've said it a thousand times, you don't know what you were watching on tv. You are not seeing him locate individual fish on tv. He was located structure and casting to structure.
Whether its finding where the bait is, or schools of fish, or casting to individual fish over and over again watching them react, it makes no difference to me. They still are shining sonar all around to get information live, instant live feedback, infront of them, everywhere. Why didn't he mark brush piles with down imaging or side scan? Because it's not as efficient, it's more difficult, he might have spooked fish driving over it, etc. Down imaging, 360, side scan, mapping, sonar... to me that's enough. We have enough tools to make us more efficient and give us advantage over fish. We don't need live. Where is it going to end? It was a tournament that wasn't 100% dominated by scoping, like all the previous tournaments so far. It was still a ffs dominated tournament by far. They guy that won and the guy that came in 2nd used it 100 percent of the time. Besides Hank Cherry and Lee Livesay, who else didn't in the top 10 or 15? I would guess not many. Maybe 1 or 2 guys at most? From what I saw on live, It was pretty much all scoping.
@@michaellamenza7617 No, just no. It's ludacris the ask anglers does swap out the electronics for other 2D to do the same thing they're doing with what is currently on the market. At this point we're splitting hairs. Either buy it and put it on your own boat, or don't. Either way, it's unfair to bash people who can have it, because it's legal and because it's not against the rules.
I watched the entire event, and no, I wasn't there in person, much less riding in the boat with them or talking with them on a personal level at the hotel. Also didn't get to see those fishermen that weren't fortunate enough to be televised, but I closely watched those that were, which leads me to disagree with you @cerebraltackle on your premise that Forward Facing was hardly a factor. It was used by everyone there, maybe not every hour of the day, and maybe for different reasons, but it was utilized by all of them. (and rightfully so) But without question, Mr. Justin Hamner, the $307,000.00 winner, was shown multiple times watching fish on his Forward Facing. Congratulations Justin, Job Well Done!
To clarify, I'm in total agreement that Forward Facing should NOT Be Banned in any fashion on the pro tournament scene, and my reasoning is long, though the problem with FF enthusiast is they have put themselves on the defense. That needs to change, as you can't win anything if you're only defending.
I will say with 100% confidence, that if Randy B were capable of qualifying for a top tournament today, he'd have his head buried so deep in that forward facing screen, that you'd only see his feet hangin' out.
On a positive note, B.A.S.S sure seemed to embrace this years Classic right along with the use of FF within its competitors. But that doesn't mean other things aren't brewing behind the scene.
See, what is misunderstood is the amount it was used. In all due respect, and your comments were very respectful, because it's on the screen does not mean he's using it. There were a handful of times he used it. However, it was not won based on that. The winds would not allow that. That's harder for folks to understand sitting at home. He had to change up what he was doing several times. The weather was ugly. It was not forward facing sonar weather. The guy is good. The win was well deserved. I have an allergic reaction to stupid. All of the anti-ffs guys have no idea what it is they're talking about. They tend to be uneducated and unable to string a sentence together. That kind of behavior gives me hives. 🤣 you, however, are welcome here anytime! Your comments are intelligent and insightful. Thank you.

I havent watched the video yet but my my my, there is some angst here. OK, livescope should either be declared as acceptable or unacceptable at each tournament and let what happenes happen.
One thing I can say about all of us fishing people, when we see a person stuck at the landing or stuck out on the ice, we dont ask if he or she voted for Ed or Fred, we help them AND WE FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT.
There just arent enough good "Anything To Do With Fishing" videos like the CT ones. And if he is wrong sonmetimes, I wont give a rats a$$

Analogous to bed fishing - find them with ffs and use your skills to get them to bite and keep them from throwing the hook. That is one of several reasons I prefer to see it disappear from bass fishing at every level.

I'm not bashing anyone. It would be foolish not to try to take advantage of this technology if you want to be competitive now. It seems to be the only way to be consistently competitive now. Everyone is permitted to use the same technology, it's not automatic, you have to learn how to use it...but none of that matters to me. It's the live technology and fishing, and everything that goes with that, that matters to me. I'm bashing the technology, not the anglers who take advantage of it. It changes the game too much into something different. I think it's too good. It's too much info. It takes away from the traditional art of fishing too much. I disagree when ppl say "technology advances, we have to adapt" No, not always. Why should that be an automatic thing? If that is true that we always have to adapt and except new technology in fishing, what is that going to lead us to? I dont think live technology is going to stay the same or get worse. I only see it getting better. A lot better. Why wouldn't it? What would be an example to you, when live technology goes to far? If you have one
See I completely understand what you're saying there. In my opinion, it only reinforces natural skill. For example, these guys, they knew where to start looking. All this did was help them easier locate the structure, not the fish. They already knew the pattern they wanted to fish. They already knew the depth they were looking at. This simply helped them find the structure they were looking for at that depth. In reality, the only difference between that and regular sonar is resolution

This bit is like the worst parts of Twitter and FB, both of which I left because of stupid arguments and derogatory comments (I was just as bad as anyone else, then I realized what a dick I was being). I honestly don’t care about FFS one way or the other, I can barely afford to rent a boat one week a year. But the tone here is really unpleasant. I’ve learned a lot of stuff from Randy, you and a few others here and I don’t need this TwitterBook noise.

Watched the whole event- I would not say that livescope was not a major factor in the outcome… not that it matters what many of us know. Technology will be allowed to take competitive fishing away from the regular guy. It’s all about the money- not the sport of fishing…..

There was an entire conversation on the final day coverage, by the announcers, about how effective FFS, is at making a competitor able to avoid fishing in unproductive areas. Figuring that out, without a flash light, used to be part of the game.
