The small details of Clair looking down at her paper and smiling at the end as the queen did is such a nice touch and goes to show how authentic they wanted to keep this
Claire Foy got it down to the T. Amazing. I wish she had continued "somehow" into the latest season. For once, the "new queen" in the latest season speaks way too fast.
@@HattieMcDanielonaMoon and yet more people love Princess Diana than they did the Queen 🤷🏼♂️ maybe if she were an “ attention sponge” people wouldn’t have been thinking the Queen is a fuckin robot
Beautiful scene. Everything was spot on. I am glad that these Christmas messages were televised and are now a piece of history. One thing I will say, is that I am almost finished with the Claire Foy era and about a few episodes away to start the second era, but I will forever see Claire Foy as the best HM Queen Elizabeth II in the show. She holds a big piece of my heart for her portrayal.
Was there really autocue used In 1957? In the actual 1957 broadcast you can see the queen is glancing down moving pages and reading her message all from memory.
I'm sorry, but I disagree that she looks and sounds exactly like the Queen, as so many people say. She doesn't, although she does do a good job at playing her, which I imagine is hard to do, but I still don't find it uncannily alike. For one thing, she seems to do more of the voice of the elderly Queen rather than the age of the Queen she's portraying. The Queen's voice at this age was a lot more high pitched, and I'm afraid she does not look exactly alike, her face is shaped completely different. I'm saying she's not great at it, she does a wonderful job at playing the Queen which, like I said, is not easy to do. It's just that I think so many people exaggerate it by saying she both looked and sounded exactly like her in the era she's portraying, when she doesn't, just similar.
What happened to the FILMED record of this 1952 first radio broadcast of the Queen's Christmas message? I enjoyed watching it on many Christmases. Where is it now?
Hi sorry i just found on instagram in some fanpage of the crown. This person @dimitreze created this video? If yes, tell me would be a pleasure to give credits for this video edit.
@@xtyna100 maybe this is some kind of reminder that this is only the tv series, so they do not want replicate it in 100%, just 99 is enough. I don't know, just me theory
I think it's because the original footage belongs to BBC therefore Netflix can't copy it at 100% due to copyrights. Either that or they wanted to show more of Claire Foy
Claire Foy is magnificent in her role of The Queen.. everything is spot on..
OMG everything is spot on! Even down to tiniest details, even that split second glance to her right she made towards the end
IKR That's what I also noticed dude. Marvelous direction.
Why wouldn't she? It was probably in the script
The proud but nervous smile too!
I think Claire’s hair is a tad too long but apart from that it’s perfect
The small details of Clair looking down at her paper and smiling at the end as the queen did is such a nice touch and goes to show how authentic they wanted to keep this
The final look 👀 OmG the details
Here you can see, how perfect Claire Foy's voice matches with the queen's - just brilliant!
THE BEST ACTRESS
When the Queen glanced at Prince Philip towards the end 🤧

THIS IS SO SATISFYING
Did anyone notice that Lord Altrincham's suggestions to the Queen on what to "start doing" are what Princess Diana had been doing in her time??
Yesss
This is rare mate she never never once made a contact or conversation with her common subjects
No.
The Queen wasn't an attention sponge like Diana was.

I can't get enough of Claire, she's incredible 😭❤️❤️

The queen’s look and voice was so elegant when she was young
Aww, the photographs of Charles and Anne!
They are both adorable at the end of the message when they look to the side and then smile.
The actress really nailed this. She looks and sounds exactly like the real thing

she nailed this role! i wish she could have somehow continued to s3 and s4
both queen look to right as they wish “ a happy cristmas” and smile
Rest in peace, Queen Elizabeth II.
Claire's face may not look like the young Queen Elizabeth II, but her voice & mannerisms are bloody spot on.
So well done 💖 She is the perfect actress for playing the Young Queen ❤️
Wow wow wow i am speechless !
Wow absolutely amazing
spot ON!!!

Spiffing performance!
Claire sure nailed her role
Claire foy is more Queen Elizabeth than Queen Elizabeth
Rip Queen
God Save The Queen
Wonder why they made her sit on the opposite side. Everything other than that is perfect.

No problem, we can agree in disagree and it's ok. We all have our personal opinions. Good night. 😊
Looks similar the queen speech
0:57 Oh my god even the little look to the side is spot on, extraordinary.
All thanks to John Grigg
Rest In Peace, Prince Philip.

Yes, i noticed. i dont know. 😕
I’ve only seen season one and up until episode 6 of the second one, everything is on the other side from the real ones 🤷🏻♀️
