She wasn’t afraid to have some fun and looking at old tapes I’ve never seen it turns out she didn’t act like a traditional king or queen who came before her, she looked like she could be really good fun behind the scenes. Queen Elizabeth II is a very charming and funny lady, if given the chance to reveal it! She is quick-witted and certainly has a sense of humor! She's had to, to put up with some of the things she's had to deal with in her 65+ year reign. Quite a grand lady, we must say. If I were a British subject, I would be very proud of her indeed! We admire her from afar and respect her, and have for many years. My parents took us to see her coronation at a "Newsreel" and about all I remember is when she said "All this I promise to do," and the crown being placed on her head. We have admired her for many reasons since then, and still do -- she has earned her acclaim! Long live the Queen!

One of the things I admire the most about her is the fact that during WWII she was out with the other young women , in uniform and serving with them in the military, as much as she was allowed as the future Queen! Not many future monarchs do that!

Another time an ambassador was trying to explain the nature of the head of State in the country where he was posted. He was using complicated terms until Her Majesty said, 'Are you just trying to say that he's mad'. Do you remember a fish shaped radio some time ago? I think it was called Billy Bigmouth Bass. It wriggled when it was on. The Queen had one on her piano.
