- I don’t care if you have a Chevy Silverado or Jeep grand Cherokee or a Ford F-150 Mabe even a Audi or VW if you were able to loosen up your brake lines while the master cylinder is in place you can bleed it on the car without removing the wheels and tires and or taking out the bleeder screws from the calipers. This procedure will only work if you do you not have any air inside your brake lines already. This is really awesome stuff and is also a one of my favorite clay tricks!!!
I messed up during the procedure of doing this and actually sucked air into the system it was my fault and not my assistance I’m assuming it’s because I was trying to film and do it at the same time because it’s actually very very simple. But if you follow my instructions you certainly will be successful this process works 19 out of 20 times this is actually the first time I’ve ever not had it work for me. So if you own a Any vehicle that you can get to the brake lines and has a master cylinder this is the process you need to know and keep it and what’s the worst that could actually happen you could end up bleeding out your entire brake system!! You would’ve had to do it anyways and the master cylinder must be Bleed either on the bench or in the car. I hope you enjoy it have a great day and God bless.

Been doing it this way for 55 years. This always works and an easy no fuss way to bleed master cylinder.good job sir
You're literally like the only video that even touches on this subject in this manner.Good for you dude keep it up
You saved my life today! Just replaced my first ever master cylinder, I did not have the tools to perform a bench bleed
Thank you indeed very much. Your idea saved me so much headache. Worked brilliantly on my Peugeot.
Don't forget the brake fluid eats away your paint, I saw a corvette master cylinder bleed and they say you have to put a level on the top so you don't get bubbles trapped, you can jack up the rear and watch the bubble in the level to make sure the bubble goes toward the firewall.
This guy knows his stuff and shows you the easy way I’ve had his help on a old 6.5 turbo diesel and he helped me out greatly this man don’t show you bullshit this guy is a awesome dude shows you what you need to know great video
Jeff I really appreciate you writing that it means a lot to me when people say things like that to me I don’t always know what I’m doing but I certainly do try
Thought this video was about bleeding brake system
Not rushing metal n paint stripping😂😂
Thanks bro big help I appreciate you!!!
I haven't even watched the video yet but I just want to say that I love how you asked for viewers to consider subscribing. Its such a better way to request sub's. For that, you got a sub from me. 😊
Oh that is such an awesome story thank you very very much that was 100% my intention I know I’m not for everybody. I have updated this video and I think I have a better version of it that’s a lot quicker and a lot easier to understand I’ll post a link under this comment thank you very very much for the kind words and welcome to the channel we’re absolutely happy to have you

It worked for me! Thank you
Well that’s excellent that it worked for you I would’ve thought from what you were telling me with the front brakes locking up that you had some kind of moisture contamination inside the brake fluid that would be my guess why they were doing that before you bled them out
It rode good for a couple rides then it started back again. Just seems to not want to work when I’m coming to a complete stop. Think brake fluid is contaminated? I’ve bled them numerous times trying to find this problem. All with new brake fluid, but every time I do there seems to be air on the first caliper I do (furthest away from MC). Seems like every time.
The music is awfully distracting..
This works .
Yeah we’re going away from having any music in the background as the channel gets bigger. Nobody wants to hear my crappy music sorry about that hopefully the video was helpful for you
@@sharpcarco clay I'm having some problems I just put a brand new master cylinder on my 98 monte Carlo and my pedal still goes to the floor
All good but the brake fluid dripping onto firewall and other PAINTED surfaces will be eaten IF you don't/can't spray carb or brake cleaner spray COMPLETELY off asap. But helpful video.
Man, put a towel underneath there!! lol
Hi i need to do this on my car, but i’ve heard not to press the pedal all the way down if you have an abs system is this right do you know, cheers
Hi Clay hoping you see this .
PROBLEM:
04 Accord EX V6 automatic
RR caliper failure with brake fluid lost from master cylinder. I know I have air in lines and the master had no fluid.
Can I do this to bleed master cylinder, then bleed all four wheels RR LF LR RF.
Did you have to bleed the brakes after you got the air out of master cylinder???
So could you blead master with a powerbleader (pressure bleeder)?
How do you figure out what line is what
I had a brake line blow, replaced it bled the brakes and everything was good except while bleeding the fluid really looked nasty. Well, it bothered me so I decided to do a real good bleed/flush. On the last caliper, I was running a little low on fluid but thought I could make it. After a few pumps, I saw some tiny bubbles and the pedal just went right down so I stopped and ran out to get more fluid and filled it up but no pedal nothing. What do you think ABS
Did you fix this? What was the issue?
Still won’t drip what else could it be?
Hopefully it works this is my last idea fingers crossed 🤞
What if I don’t have a Jeff to help
Is this in place of bleeding at the wheels? I forgot to bench bleed my master cylinder before putting it on the car and now my pedal is all spongy. Can I use this technique without bleeding at the wheels or do I need to do both? I don’t mind just wanna make sure it will work if I don’t bleed at the wheel or is it a waste of time?
I know this is a old comment but it might help someone out later, yes, you need to bleed everything, technically when you install a master cylinder that is new you should bench bleed it on a vise, hes just showing you how to skip that step and do it in the car, , they both work, vise or car but you still have to bleed the wheels so call it the 5 step bleeding process, master and all 4 wheels.
Clay, I did something without thinking. I decided to remove the original brake fluid that is 20 years old from my truck and opened all 4 bleeder screws so I could get all the old fluid out. I then filled it up with new fluid and now I cannot get any brake pressure at all. I have always bled my on brakes without any problem however, after watching your vid I never thought that the master cylinder may have air in it not the lines. What are your thoughts.
Well depending on what kind of vehicle you have it is possible that you have air trapped before the ABS control module and the ABS control module is not releasing the air like it should be so you may need to use the scan tool to bleed out your brake system that’s the first thing that comes to mind.
I’m assuming you were having a problem that’s why you changed your fluid correct?
It’s my opinion but it’s not necessary to ever change brake fluid unless it’s leaking or you are servicing the brake system and you need to remove the fluid for some particular reason like it was contaminated with a petroleum based product or water
I say it’s my opinion because I’ve seen cars that were 35 years old it still had the old brake fluid in them and generally when a break line breaks it’s because of an outside organisms such as rust etc. etc.
I would be curious to see what other peoples thoughts are on this particular subject but that is my personal opinion.
Hopefully the information helps you a little bit and if you ever have any questions feel free to ask them God bless and have a great day
Clay, Do not have ABS brakes so would your next step be bleeding the master cylinder. If so then do I open only one brake line going into the master at a time or open both at the same time.
Greg Brooks Good morning Greg no it’s just a coincidence your master cylinder has went bad. I couldn’t tell you why it went bad but it just did
When bleeding the master cylinder on the vehicle are you suppose to screw on the cap to the master cylinder or leave it off? Thanks
Well he recorded the whole process
Question I had put a new master cylinder on my 98 monte Carlo but the brake pedal still goes to the floor
🙄same with a Ford Edge
Sir i was bleeding my brakes but unfortunately I don't topped the brake fluid in master cylinder and the air sucked in . Now how can i bleed my brakes. plz kinldy reply me soon.
Wait another year.
Does this work if I need to bleed my calipers too? Been trying to find out where air got into my line. Was going to bleed master and calipers. Truck seems to be acting like it wants to lock up in the front just when I’m about to come to a complete stop
99 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3L 4WD
No Tyler you need to bleed them all the way through the calipers this procedure will not work for that
I bled the master this way then the calipers afterwards.
Mr Clay i have another question why is when I'm at a stop light the the oil gauge drops all the way dash says check gauges then when light turns green i go and the oil gauge gose back to normal what can b the problem sensor
What kind of car are we talking about and what size engine?
@@sharpcarco a dodge ram 1500 2003 5.7
I’m sorry to tell you Ruben that is not very good especially with a 5.7 more than likely you actually have a oil pick up tube that is blocked there’s probably excessive Sludge in your oil pan I highly recommend you fix that ASAP or you will be putting a new motor in it
@@sharpcarco I had that happen so I drained 2qrts of oil and added 2 qrts seafoam and let it run 10 to 20 min then did a oil change and all was good
kill the music no need to hear anything but you is the point
No paint was harmed in this film.
And when he shut off star the music
Turn the music down forsake for the video
Sorry about that! Back in these older videos I didn't even think about the music being on! Luckily I started. We don't do that anymore. Hopefully you're enjoying the newer content 😎
All that brake fluids leaking down somewhere....can the brake fluids hurt or erode anything?
Of course It could …. But it’s my car and I don’t care……
@@sharpcarco ...... but you've chosen to share the video with others on UA-cam, do you "care" about their safety and cars? Is it Christian to share potentially dangerous shortcuts to people, concerning their safety-critical car brakes?!?!
@@davidvillage3420When you do this just put a old towel you dont care about underneath there to catch all that fluid,a grown up would do that regardless of whose car it was.
When i bleed my wheels i put a piece of cardboard against my inner fender,so it can catch all that fluid, even though its plastic i dont want all that stuff everywhere, the problem with brake fluid is not only that it eats paint but if you leave it laying all over the bottom of the car its Attracts dirt like ants to sugar and your gonna have a paste of dirt and brake fluid under your car,I'm kinda anal about that and i drive a beater, lol
The owner will be "happy" with that huge mess on the engine compartment?
Well I can tell you he was not very disappointed at all, because I never thought about it, And since it’s mine it really doesn’t bother me
Love the Metallica
Is that a style of body paint? 🤑

@@sharpcarco Master cyl bleeding on the car
For an old beater this is ok. But not my classic Camaro.
I stopped listening when the music started...too bad, not a bad video otherwise.
Sorry to hear that obviously we don’t do that any longer but this is a very old video.
TURN OFF THE MUSIC! GOODNESS GRACIOUS GREAT BALLS OF FIRE WE DON'T CLEARLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE SAYING. Sorry but thumbs down for this video. AND NEXT TIME, LISTEN TO BLACK SABBATH.
Black Sabbath…… well sorry the music wasn’t it to your listening pleasure, unfortunately I don’t play music in the background any longer because that’s very frowned on by the establishment… I apologize I’m certain you will find my future videos much more entertaining and informative with no music
Missed a lot of the detail because of the constant and unneccesary text popups on the screen. I mean, just why? They added nothing and caused a distraction to an otherwise great video. ....and I won't even mention the noisy music that started mid-way through and *again* was nothing but a distraction. Do what Jesus would do - just offer the help freely, without trying to make such a 'mark' on the video, without all the ego.
That music does suck, just as bad as rap, never understood heavy metal much, more of a Classic rock kinda guy,lol
