Hey guys, I had a cEDH event last night, and I used Cam's Jeska Ishai deck (with a few of my own tweaks). The deck was really fun to play, and I managed to get top 8!
One thing I've learned about tribal decks, the more efficient tribes are INSANE. Goblins, Zombies, HUMANS (thanks to MID), Vampires (always), Wizards and even Merfolk can lead to some spectacular games.
I prefer the lesser played tribes like nightstalkers, licids, nagas, frogs, and leeches no one sees their synergies coming. One often played tribe I do play tho is dragons and they are beautiful
@@kingfuzzy2 Torens, Katilda, and the new Sigarda help do everything the human tribe wants to accomplish. I guess being able to do infinite combat damage in something other than Boros, or drawing your entire deck in another color besides blue, never occurred this guy. Also, the lifegain synergies and really nasty stax pieces are ALL primarily in these colors. How many tribes can say they're able to Aetherflux people by doing nothing other than entering play and smashing people (no infinite combos required).
Haven't even watched the video yet, just wanted to say you guys are easily my favorite mtg channel out there, If not my favorite channel overall, I love your guys energy and the commentary in game and Shit, it's a really nice format and I think the both of you bring it together perfectly Thank you for all of the work you do for all of us to enjoy!
I’ve been watching this channel for a year now? This is the first time I’ve read the comments. This is easily my favorite MTG channel. The energy and joy you all bring to the game is a delight. Thank you for doing this. Casual, competitive, doesn’t matter. If any of you PTW guys are on Kauai ever, hmu. Would love to cruise.
Tyler shouldn’t have died in that second game. When he cast Xyris the very next turn Chris used Skull clamp to draw two cards which should’ve given him 2 snake tokens. If I’m not mistaken when Dylan swung out at him he would’ve been able to block at least 6 more damage allowing him not to die to the one 3/4 attacker from Dylan a turn later. Big Xyris lover here wish to see more of it!! Edit: This is my personal High Power Xyris list with Primer if anyone is interested. www.moxfield.com/decks/uMq252_F4Um-uvNyVSFJUA
Thank you all for reminding all of us, and by us I mean me, that Commander is fun. These games were great! On a side note: Could you all podcast about the difference between CEDH/High Powered/EDH? There has been some real debate about this and I feel, as the vanguards of the CEDH format, I think you all are the correct folks to explain this. Thanks my bois!
I have a muxus deck that I love very much, it used to be a wort, boggart auntie deck (my first edh deck). I know krenko gets most of the love for the mono red goblin tribal, but I hope this makes people look at muxus a little more. He won’t go as wide, but he’ll get the bigger players out and most times krenko will show up anyways. It’s always fun to roll the dice.
You can tell right off the bat how excited Dylan was to play Edgar haha Also, I wonder if Dylan is running Bloodvial Purveyor which is a house in Edgar.
I love this edgar list!! Edgar was my first ever commander deck since I've always loved mtg vampires, but since I was just getting into magic at the time, I really didn't know how to make it good. For a while, I tried updating my edgar deck as I learned more about magic, but still didn't know how to make a good edgar deck. Recently, I wanted to revamp the deck, and came back to this episode for inspiration! I absolutely love Dylan's edgar deck and love the new edgar deck that I made.
I would love to see some highly optomized tribal games in the future with some of the top tribes out right now. Maybe like BR Grenzo vs Marywn vs The first sliver vs Edgar or a zombie tribal, maybe merfolk.
To me, it's really funny as even your 'casual' games are the best gameplay I see here on youtube, from the other CEDH channels and even comparing to the 'cinematic experience' of gameknights. I believe that this is due to you guys being REALLY skillful at Magic, somethimg that I personally strive to be, in CEDH, yes, but also in the more 'casual/noncombo/combat damage' side of commander, that's also cool! Would love to see more of these gameplays from you!
I love the idea of high power tribes even though they are not cedh the limitations breed creativity. I've been doing an ad Naus glissa tribal creature based combo with phyrexian altar and another with Liliana untouched and shambling ghast been fun.
Can yall imagine how wild it would be to have 30k people watching yall play these games in real life? You guys are famous. Hahah Thanks for the great content
It is always nice to see a casual game knowing Tyler's quote "As the resident casual player." I had a question anyone can answer. Which in your opinion is the best Commander for Merfolk tribal?
great games, lots of fun watching! but That was not snake tribal. 2 cards that actaully are snakes (Steve and Xyris) 0 cards that care about snakes. imo that's "cheating" on the theme of the game :|
2nd game felt kinda bad with Tyler feeling hated out but Xyris just has a tendency to win out of nowhere. Chris wasn’t attacked much but he also wasn’t much of a threat most of the time.
I'd say the best one is the one you enjoy playing the most. I say from my corner desperately spending the last few years trying to make skeletons good.
The volume is very off between the scenes. It would help increase video quality a ton to level out the volume as it's extremely quiet when it goes to face to camera scenes.
Would Muxux have reentered the battlefield during the Conjurer's Closet trigger? The 'Return to battlefield' trigger for the Lighning Crafter is a trigger that wouldn't resolve until after the closet.
As you guys are branching out a bit, any chance of seeing some Conquest occasionally? I'd love to see what y'all do with the differing format rules/restrictions/bans
Second game. Style forget to make 2 Snakes by Chris skullclamp. And Chris cheaten by playing Myriad Landscape and cast Muxxus. Landscape comes into Play tapped not untapped ;)
oh my. sacking the commander in response to cyc. rift? that would help. also not sacking the captivating vampire in response to aura. you can just sack it later :D Dylan, buddy! what are you dooing. >< :D but fund to watch anyway :D
The dialog about the number of vampires vs cast vampires, highlight 😂
1:12 for those wanting to watch it again
Happens every time when I play my Edgar deck! "Technically two vamps" ;)
Spiritually, Tyler is always the player whose playstyle I connect with most.
Same, no matter the commander’s I end up routing for Tyler
Dylan here
Way more of a Cam, in that I'm constantly saying, "Oooooh. I could've...oh well."
...Elaborate on that.

When I saw Edgar was in the vid I thought it’d be Kaalia of the Vast. It’s nice to see something new
1:18 to 1:24 is peak editing, hilarious stuff

Tribal is super funny, its one of my fav things of casual edh. Muxus was quite inspirating. Edgar is devastating 😂
thank you for including a primer in the vampire deck! haven’t looked at the others yet
You can tell right off the bat how excited Dylan was to play Edgar haha
Also, I wonder if Dylan is running Bloodvial Purveyor which is a house in Edgar.
Its actually trash. Best Edgar lists are low to the ground and very aggro
The "BEGIN" is going to be etched into my nightmares.
Chris plays a myriad landscape in untapped to cast muxus at 18:25, doesn't look like it mattered...

God, If I got to play my Grismold deck in this pod I'd be foaming at the mouth in hype. So many tokens.
I would love to see some highly optomized tribal games in the future with some of the top tribes out right now. Maybe like BR Grenzo vs Marywn vs The first sliver vs Edgar or a zombie tribal, maybe merfolk.
I'd like to see tribes with lesser support like licids or mono u nagas personally.
@@kingfuzzy2 while the idea sounds fun, it would be a headache to get a cohesive deck with such a small card pool.
@@camerondavis7668 it is fun and it isn't hard to build I know because I've built a few of them.
I've been telling myself this for months now but I love every single deck Tyler plays on this channel!
I really enjoyed this, was nice to see you all show off some casual decks; excited to see more cEDH though!
Love the forray into casual while it still feeling very much like a normal PTW episode
That last turn with muxis was amazing!
This was four ways of awesome. Glad the Muxman took the second game.

I love it when y’all make games like this for the channel
One of the BEST episode of the Channel keep this edh High level tribal wars please
Really enjoyed these games! I like how you all approach these games the same as you do when playing cEDH. Same vibe and fun!
Love the attitude you guys have while playing at any power level.
you can put a fitter bedsheet around a window frame to make a cheap light defuser when glare is an issue, just by a cheap white twin size
Really enjoyed this episode! You guys piloting casual decks is awesome.
You make the most entertaining casual content on the internet imo
12:15 LMAO, i loved this editing.
What a really good tribal episode. So satisfying to see them all working.
Enjoyed the games very much. Love the speedy editing style and scary **begin** scream!
I watched this while waiting for it to be time for me to go to my new job really help me calm down since I was super nervous thanks
This made my day, I’m glad we could help! Hope it went well!
"You can call cards whatever you want." Go off, king.
I’m convinced it’s not even about cedh anymore. Eventually we will see into god and satans eyes at once in an intro.
I love the idea of high power tribes even though they are not cedh the limitations breed creativity. I've been doing an ad Naus glissa tribal creature based combo with phyrexian altar and another with Liliana untouched and shambling ghast been fun.
Your “begins” are the highlight of my day

Thanks for the great content
I can’t even really fathom how many people 30,000 people is. It’s bonkers
What a fun game. Loved seeing the creatures flooding the board.
Dylan making those Crimson Vow set boosters do work.
Nice seeing good, strong EDH that isn't cEDH. Great episode!
Impact tremors that early in the game was nice!
Love seeing it! Now consider doing a best enchantress deck in cEDH video? Thanks!
I love all of your content but I think some more of this more casual gameplay would be awesome. These games were great
This was so fun to watch I dint know tribal snakes existed
Very nice games! Cant' wait to see Edgar Markov in the competitive scene.
Loved it, also not Surprised at how it Ended...but yeah good times
I need more faeries for a good tribal deck, right now it is very difficult to make it work as tribal. Good games, I really enjoyed this video.
At 17:33 the flavor was fantastic. Angel blasting all the vampires with sunlight! *Chef's kiss*
"eminence is a perfectly balanced mechanic, and fun to play against"
Nope... not even Sun Tzu said that
It is always nice to see a casual game knowing Tyler's quote "As the resident casual player." I had a question anyone can answer. Which in your opinion is the best Commander for Merfolk tribal?
kumena
Chulane
Good video, hope to see some under represented tribes (golems, ooze, etc.) the next time :)
great games, lots of fun watching! but That was not snake tribal. 2 cards that actaully are snakes (Steve and Xyris) 0 cards that care about snakes. imo that's "cheating" on the theme of the game :|
Those are such good games. Love it. Though I kinda wish you had tried to make merfolk work in this setup.
I love xyris. Thats actually my pod commander for my cedh deck and man is jt a fun backup plan.
“Conspicious.” Alexa, add to dictionary. 😂
Play to win casual. Tyler on Xyris. You love to see it
First game love the my big green boy..that's alot of damage..big gg there ..love to see it ..
The Patreon names are the end are getting funnier and funnier
YES!! EDGAR AND LATHRIL 2 FAVORITE COMMANDERS TO WATCH (and play)!
Id say that was fringe competitive. Still nice to see tribal. The power level these days even in "casual" is pretty insane.
2nd game felt kinda bad with Tyler feeling hated out but Xyris just has a tendency to win out of nowhere. Chris wasn’t attacked much but he also wasn’t much of a threat most of the time.
@Ren Stimpy he had nothing going at that moment. Tyler drew Chris SO many cards to help him out, then the windfall for 10 I think gave him the game.
Xyris being tribal is also kind of a stretch.
@@camerondavis7668 Yeah, "Hello, fellow tribal decks"
I see last game's victory as Tyler being kind of avenged by Chris XD
Really good matchups, great episode
Awesome video! more casual games with Players that want to win :D!
Great games, though I'm a bit disappointed that the Xylis deck was just a Xylis deck and not a tribal one.
18:20 hol up, myriad landscape ETBs tapped!
18:25 Myriad landscape should’ve come in tapped. Would be able to cast his commander that turn… from one yr in the future.
Love your vids guys. But how did Chris play myriad landscape as his land for turn untapped and then played muxus?
That was a fun episode. Enjoyed it greatly. :D
Sad to see no Rat tribal deck, would love to see one of you guys brew up a Marrow Gnawer list
I'd say the best one is the one you enjoy playing the most. I say from my corner desperately spending the last few years trying to make skeletons good.
Myriad Landscape enters the battlefield tapped! I think that missplay would have changed the outcome.
The volume is very off between the scenes. It would help increase video quality a ton to level out the volume as it's extremely quiet when it goes to face to camera scenes.
Cam is my MTG spirit animal. We both miss crucial plays :b
I'm a sucker for art, I have a mighty need of The Great Wave off Kanagawa playmat
Remember when the 'begin' was intelligible and coherent? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Great content as always, Chris could have done with de-essing tho, that sibilance from his mic is piercing
Would Muxux have reentered the battlefield during the Conjurer's Closet trigger? The 'Return to battlefield' trigger for the Lighning Crafter is a trigger that wouldn't resolve until after the closet.
I really loved this style of gameplay
This was a super fun vid to watch 🎉
These casual matches were amazing! Do you plan to do more `casual' content? If so, we will ever see a Rin and Seri, Inseparable deck?
Possibly!
18:20 myriad landscape enters tapped
I hate craterhoof and cyclonic on kitchentables, but the goblin blink value, wins my like.
As you guys are branching out a bit, any chance of seeing some Conquest occasionally? I'd love to see what y'all do with the differing format rules/restrictions/bans
that begin was impressive
When i've seen CASUAL Tribal, i was sooooo ready for Kumena... Sad to see that my fishes ain't getting any love :D
Well I need to add my impact tremor to my xyris deck now. Idk how I didn’t think about it
Also Purphoros
Automaton is a vampire due to changeling, I believe it will survive Olivia's wrath (6:40)
At 18:25, Myraid landscape should enter tapped. Unless I missed something
i wanted a xyris list so bad for so long xD
Second game. Style forget to make 2 Snakes by Chris skullclamp. And Chris cheaten by playing Myriad Landscape and cast Muxxus. Landscape comes into Play tapped not untapped ;)
