Fun game! And yeah: turns out if an opponent controls a permanent you own when you die in a game of Commander, you get it back! 800.4a is the rule (for the curious).
@@olafthemoose9413 Not quite. When a player leaves a multiplayer game, the last thing that happens, before their permanents are exiled, is that ALL controlling effects they have end. Meaning anything that was in play, and then that player gained control of it, would go back to their owner's control. The exception here, is that if something was put into play without ever being controlled by another player. I.E. if someone Bribery's out a creature, then loses the game, the bribery'd creature is exiled. Same with something like Gather Specimens, It enters under a different player's control and never was in the control of the owner. Both Agent and Gilded Drake's controlling effects would end when a player leaves the game, returning the permanents to the previous controller.
@@LaboratoryManiacs i thought this only applied to effects that specify "until end of turn" as in edh, when a player leaves the game, their steps and phases continue as normal and their permanents that were stolen are returned at what would be the end of their turn. But since gilded drake didnt specify an end for the steal effect, they should get exiled because they were under the control of the person who left the game past the end of turn
Not 100% accurate - If you did control it originally, you get it back (e.g. with drake), but if they manage to put it into play under their control (e.g. with reanimate) then it's exiled
I recently started watching you guys, not the biggest cEDH person, but you guys make it look super fun and interesting. I recently bought some alters to try out some cEDH!
The interjections between interactions are really nice, I think that does make a great distinction between your videos and others! Love the gameplay from y’all
Hey Cam, I got your back. Kenrith Evo, is a deck looking to midrange the heck out of any pod. Ad Naus is a great card, however this deck can't support it. Not enough mana, so low resource ad nauses are pretty trash.
When a player dies all effects that change ownership such as gilded drake end and the drake will return to it's owner. Now if you have an opponents permanent via something like casting it or reanimating it etc then it will get exiled.
Mod with the token: I died doing what I loved. If that’s not THE hallmark of cedh? I don’t know what is. Dylan to your point I feel like Nath would be better served in abzan because of the inclusion of white silence and stax would really push the rest of the table down to your level.
So, I'm back! Just a bacon-loving dude here. I told you I'd come by each video and ask for a "best Enchantress in cEDH" video--feel free to make it happen Cap'ns!
Couldn’t the sadistic hypnotist respond to the swords to get rid of everyone’s hands by repeatedly responding over top the swords but also letting nath triggers resolve and then reactivating hypnotist till the table has no hands
I’m just waiting for the windgrace cEDH decklist 😩 Worldgorger+animate dead+altar of the brood is super easy and consistent to get in jund and probably the funnier win in cEDH Or blightsteel through the breach turn 1
Ha dying to Ad Naus is why I swapped to Godo for a little, I get a little tooo greedy and a liitle too ballsy Great game incredibly enjoyable from start to finish!
Would you guys ever think of playing an araumi list? I just made mine and I think (pretty biased though) that it's kinda spicy. It's a mix of graveyard, control, and ad naus stuff
If your cards are stolen with effects like oblivion ring the reason you don’t get it back is because the trigger that would return it when the enchantment leaves is taken off the stack when the player dies.
Dumb question, Cam, Where did you get your ABUR dual proxies? Also IDK if you guys watch FalseSwipe Gaming but he uses this song alot and I 100% love hearing it

Sad Nauseam is exactly why I'm thinking to stop playing it, even though I love the strategy. I'm really too unlucky XD Either with life or the cards I get. I can't remember the last time I managed to cast it, stay alive AND get enough cards to win on the spot (and yeah, my deck IS built properly, in theory XD)
Hey play to win love the channel here's an interesting thought my play group has house banned thassas Oracle we think it's too warping either could you guys do an episode on the best decks if orcale was banned
Thank you when I started playing if you didn't have any cards in your library it's very likely you lost I'm sick and tired of these I have no cards in my library yet I win games I don't consider that a real win
@Dylan: what's your reasoning behind running Hapatra? I can see the synergy with potentially having a lot of tokens, but has it pulled some weight for you before?
I'm pretty sure Mod(?) cast the Phantasmal Image so when he left the game the Phantsmal Image left the game with him and the Gilded Drakes that the other two had cast were returned. That was Cam's real Gilded Drake.
Hopefully someone can answer this for me. Where did Cam get the art/design for his dual lands? I'm building an EDH Cube and would love to use those versions.
Pretty sure when Mod died, the gilded drakes under his control would go into exile. It's only treachery like effects that "fall off" when the player dies and control is returned to the original player.
It's been discussed quite a bit elsewhere in the comments but it mostly depends on how the permanent entered the battlefield. If the permanent is put into play under your control and then control is transferred to an opponent (like with Gilded Drake or something like Treachery) then you would get it back when they leave the game. If the permanent is put into play under their control (like with something like Bribery or if you get a permanent off of an Opposition Agent) then it would be exiled when they leave the game. They actually changed the oracle text on Xantcha a couple years ago to make her work differently with these rules. With the original wording she entered under your control and then you gave her to an opponent but now she enters under an opponents control. Wit the original wording when that opponent left the game you would get her back but now she goes into exile.
Dylan, you are right. cards taken by drake get exiled. it's as simple as: when someone kills the gilded drake, they don't get their creature back. auras are a different story.
That's incorrect. After permanents the leaving player owns leave the game and effects giving them control of other players' permanents end, any remaining permanents they control but don't own are exiled. This is the case if the permanents entered the battlefield under the leaving player's control and no effects that would give control to another player are active.
Couldn't Dylan have sacced one of his other creatures with the Sadistic Hypnotist in response to the swords in order continue the chain before the swords resolves?
Love hearing you guys talk about the WHY of your decisions, not just what you're doing!
Same. Love knowledgable commentary.
THIS!! All of this right here!!
"Mod dying to Ad Nauseam was the best thing that could have happened to the table"

Doing us proud! 😂
Fun game! And yeah: turns out if an opponent controls a permanent you own when you die in a game of Commander, you get it back! 800.4a is the rule (for the curious).
Doesn't it depend on the effect? You get it back from a treachery but not from an agent of treachery or a gilded drake.
