Brilliant idea. I know that many have used stadium seats but most don’t raise them for a better fishing height, nor do they permanently mount them. Terrific idea.

Thanks! And a higher seat can make getting in and oout of the seat easier. But the higher the seat, the more tippy the yak becomes, unless you add pontoons. So I kept my height increase modest.

I'm trying to decide whether I want to raise the seat or just attach it directly to the kayak. I guess adding two 2x4s would come with a cost of stability. Did it ever feel tippy?

Hi! Yes, raising the seat any amount raises the center of gravity and therefore increases tippiness. That said, this yak is very stable and I raised the COG only a little. So, I have not noticed the yak to be much more tippy.

@@Jnf458 Yes, I built stabilizers two rod holders, pvc, and really big foam noodles. I have not posted a video of that project yet.
