Finally went through your first 2 videos and basic functions, so set mine up now. Nice little radio, noticed someone else said they could not see their Baofeng UV17 outside under normal sunlight, but mine with the black screen and white digit seems perfectly fine! I have the Green and Black version, just preference as will take it out and about when walking and MTB cycling.
I've just got one of these and I'm more than happy with it. Very easy to use and program I've got a few of the radio's you have reviewed. Look forward to more reviews 👍
So to confirm: not sure why, but when I go to Store Channel to memory to store it on my UV17 -Pro V2 - it shows me unused channels with no "CH" before the number. So a new unused channel would show say "32" , and then you select that channel, then confirm and then it sets that frequency to that channel "CH32", yours seems to be showing you the stored channels only when you go into the memory menu. And the saved mode on your UV17 is the battery saver mode I think ;) Though, I am just getting used to it as well. If I notice anything different will let you know:) My current firmware is showing 1.11 if that helps too, Regards Ljay
Can you recommend a beginner's guide to this particular radio? I see plenty of them for the older model, but it is sufficiently different as to be more difficult to translate. I'm a complete noob.

There are two models of the 17 I would use the software .
Thanks for the video! Somehow I did a hard reset and lost all the presaved channels on the radio. Any ideas of how to get them back? 😅
You would need to use software .
