It’s nice to see these radios picking up an improved screen. Just like the other Baofeng menus it seems to be a standard among a few radios now. I like the standard charger with adapters.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. The screens are much better looking these days, and you are right that all of their menus do follow a standard system.
Nice review. Had just purchased one when the uv17 pro gps came out so ‘needed’ one of those. As you mentioned about the charging cradle cost saving, same w the case, as you suspected. Both have the gps pin icon on top but only the pro gps model actually has gps. Really disappointing about the harmonics issues. Will likely use these to play around w and scan since they’re so inexpensive. Thanks.
I got one just to see how to use it. I can work the flash light, the fm radio and the weather band. Can not get anything else to to work after weeks of headaches im done. don't understand how it works it's now in a box collecting dust. Glad i only paid 12 dollars for the damn thing.
I a learning more now about the subject of radio that I happened upon and found it to be of interest to me and I purchased one of the radios, Baofeng 17 Pro Max and I hope it's a good choice.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. The reason it is not legal to transmit with is due to the fact that it could cause interference on other frequencies.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. If the motorola radios have the same frequencies as the 17R then I don't see why not.
Thank you for answering , my radio can listen to the Motorola crp but won’t transmit or send anything. How can I fix that problem thank you for your time
I just got mine in it says it’s a UV-17r and came with some pre programmed channels. What’s weird and forgive me if I sound stupid I am still new, is it’s got stuff programmed from 220.550,235.225 258.925 in its memory. Is that 1.25m? Did anyone else have that I thought it was only dual band. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and the comment! It is greatly appreciated. I think there is definitely an upside to this for a first time user. It is inexpensive. Radioddity is currently selling it for $22.99.

Just got mine today. I take the tech test next Saturday and just trying to figure out programming has me ready to just stick to CB.

You say it's not legal to transmit, but why? The harmonics? Why does it make it not legal. Just curious, no clue about this stuff yet.

I bought a uv17..and it actually transmits on 220 or 1.25cm. I don’t know why I buy them..they “work”..but are always sort of garbage.
Is this good for a first time user that knows nothing about these lol???
Me and you both want to know the answer to this
