The S tier for your wife's cooking is so wholesome.
I loved that part too... but I don't get how a pasta with butter and milk is considered vegan (sure, those options exist, but it wasn't specified)... so maybe vegetarian? I dunno, maybe being nitpicky here, LOL... (and don't get me wrong, I'm an omnivore, I love meat, I'm not trying to be *that*-guy-vegan pointing this out).

For reference; Vegitarians only dont eat meat but can have other dairy products such as milk or even eggs. While vegans avoid anything that comes from an animal.
@@TheSteelPhantom usually when people cook a lot of vegan dishes it's implied that the ingredients are all vegan substitutes cause its a mouthful to go "vegan pasta with vegan butter and vegan milk and vegan cheese" :)) its probably a margarine of some sort and then a plant based milk

Sweet tea tastes like sugar because that's mostly what it is.
Yeah they should call it tea-flavored sugar
It really does depend on where you get it and how they make it. Some franchises use Lipton which is an insult to tea since it tastes like dirt and you need to add a bunch of sweetener to make it taste edible. Others use a weird brewing process that changes the flavor profile and makes it taste weird. Some purposely use a lot of sugar to make it overly sweet (Chick fil-a falls into this category but I do like their sweet tea quite a bit since their core tea tastes good - they source from Tetley for those interested). Sweet tea is what you generally order if you do not like soda.
No I promise you it’s whoever your staff is when you pull up there have been plenty of the times the tea was just fine for me where I live. Then there’s always those staff who dump gallons upon gallons of sugar in the tea and I legit be feeling like I got a sugar rush so I’ll have to split it and put water in both cups.
No wonder all of the South is obese, on top of all the other unhealthy foods they add sugar to things that dont need it

If you ever worked at one it doesn't surprise me. If it's every time maybe you're just sensitive to something in it. But, particularly if it's the same one all the time, maybe it's food safety issues.

8:20 as a man born and raised in the South Eastern region of the United States, I completely agree with your take on all fast food sweet teas, none of them taste like tea and they're far too sweet. Sweet tea should still taste like tea, and when it gets made at home here that's exactly how it is. It's like a little sugar in your coffee, you still want it to taste like coffee the sugar just adds another layer. Especially when you usually buy cheap and mid tier coffee like me haha. A good high end coffee I'll enjoy with nothing added, that's just an uncommon situation.
Sugar is poison and makes everything worse
The thing I like about popeyes other than the great breading is those fries. Their texture is great imo and the fact that they're still tasty when they're cold is huge cause they inevitably cool down on your way home if you're ordering to go

All the Popeyes near me are horrible mate. The drive thru’s are always closed and they are always out of literally everything
that's only if you actually have good locations near you. Mine are all awful and constantly serve cold and nasty food

@@fatturtleking The ones near me will serve you life altering food but it's rarely what you ordered. Some of the best wings I ever had were some ones fresh from the fryer with the wrong sauce on them.

I think the thing with sweet tea is that a lot of places put more sugar in theirs than it calls for, so it just comes out tasting like sugar water.
But also not everybody's into sweet tea and that's totally fine!
Southern sweet tea can be basically like a slightly watered down tea version of simple syrup, so if places are trying to do that style it makes sense. Unfortunately they never seem to use a good enough tea base for it imo, so they really should stick to just regular sweetened tea.

@javanboyd If you've got a compost heap! lol but yeah it'll get lonely if she only has the mind of a worm at that point and cuddles will be very mucus-laden and full of silent but internal screaming from both of you. I would take a mole over a worm lol much cuddlier for me at least, their fur is soft like velvet and they're very misunderstood. But yer correct, anything less than "worm castle with premium dirt" is basically unacceptable.
Maybe he just likes her cooking. Garam masala pasta sounds pretty good.

People think vegan is automatically bad; it's only bad if the recipe was created by people who don't know how to use flavor and texture besides meat, milk, and cheese. But that said, she probably wouldn't have been as happy if he graded it any lower. Making her feel really good was better than saying an A, like if it had been made by anyone else and deserved an A. It was made by her, that makes it worth the S for sure. His preferences affect every ranking he gives the food he tries which should include his love for her.

Whole chicken pieces are definitely the way to go at Popeyes, I don't know if it was garbage luck or time of day or whatever, but whenever I got tenders, I always somehow ended up with the tidily-winks of pieces of tenders that they tried to pass-off as whole tenders. It wasn't usually even for me, I used to get Popeyes before I went to work for my friend and I. I like the thighs, I am very biased towards dark meat. The biscuits aren't bad, I never got why a lot of people don't like them; like "oh it's because they're dry", as if they aren't biscuits, like I'd be more concerned if my biscuit was wet, the "butter" coating does do a lot of heavy lifting I will say that. I was at another chicken place once (it's a small chain on the east coast; the chicken is great, sides are okay, the place I went to also has like rice and halal dishes, also catfish which was also great), I was leaving, saw someone in their car parked outside waiting for their friend inside, with a bag of what was clearly Popeyes biscuits. Popeyes also has good seafood. For fast-food seafood, like the bar is not high to begin with, I would pick Popeyes shrimp and fish over a filet-o-fish or Long John Silvers, I would actively pick seafood at Popeyes if given the option.
This is one of my favorite things to watch/just listen to, please keep making them 🙏
Rule of thumb for Popeye's: the worse the service, the better the food.

I suspect that Popeye quality varies a lot from store to store. The one near me is ... not great, but it has the advantage of being two minutes from home. The chicken sandwiches are pretty good, but I had bad luck with their tenders and nuggets.
You should do Arby's, Del Taco, or Long John Silvers; you gotta go back to your suffering in the early videos to get the good views.

The best item at Popeyes was the wrap. It was a chicken tender wrapped in a tortilla with red beans and rice. Also even cooking schools in New Orleans acknowledges that Popeyes has the best red beans and rice outside of New Orleans.

As for the sweet tea, I never could get along with that sort of tea from restaurants. The only sweetened any sort of tea I drank were stuff like arizona or snapple. Either that or straight up barley or corn tea. There is no in between 😂

Quite surprised by the sides' ratings. In my experience the biscuits were rock-hard and the mac n' cheese was flavorless except for the bits of toasted cheese loosely scattered throughout. I must have gotten a bad location, though...
I was in the US for a month recently, popeyes and chick fila were the only 2 places I had to go back for another round. Popeye's fried chicked was amazing to me as an Aussie
Popeyes blackened tenders are based for being like the only great pure protein option you can get at a fast food place that is also delicious, you could legit have a healthy diet from just Popeyes (if you don't eat the Cajun fries too often like me).
