As someone who survived on the microwaveable ones through college, you have to let them sit (covered) after heating, for the cheese to be absorbed and become more gooey.
The cauliflower mac is indeed an unsung hero of the blue box line. I know it's not exactly *healthy* but it helps me feel a little bit better about downing a whole box of mac and cheese by myself while also tasting delicious.
As always, I live for these Let's Try episodes. The Animal Crossing music is like a warm comfy blanket. EDIT: The variations of the Deluxe mac and cheese change it up and are worth checking out. I get the microwavable ones and don't drain them, but I do undershoot the water a bit, or else I'll microwave it slightly longer than recommended to evaporate off more of the water. The default way to make them is, I agree, too watery.
Even besides not having milk/butter to add, and the pitiful size, the other issue with the easy mac cups is that they're INCREDIBLY dependent on how much water is leftover in the cup when it's done. I've had cups from the same package and sometimes the difference between "yeah that was okay" and "that didn't taste like anything" was like a teaspoon of water
Shapes absolutely taste different from the others! I have a theory it is intentional as many little little kiddos prefer bland flavor profiles and so bc its usually the smaller kiddos who want the shapes, they start them off with a milder tasting sauce compared to "big kid" mac which is not shaped and is the original varieties!
I got this umami mushroom seasoning powder at Trader Joe’s. Sprinkled some of that in the last classic Mac and cheese I made. Was incredible. Can recommend.
As someone who found out they had Celiac in my 20s, I was ecstatic to find out just how serviceable of a replacement the gluten free Kraft was. There's definitely a difference, but it scratches that itch I had been missing for so long.

My preferred method of original is extra cheese, lots of black pepper, and subbing some of the butter with leftover bacon grease (if I fried any earlier for other purposes, it stores easily and makes a good softened butter substitute). A little creole seasoning can be fun too. And I like topping things with parsley personally. One night I also just made a full cheese sauce, crust, etc. for baked mac n cheese but also used Kraft as a base and it was fun. I believe the savory ones are called Toaster Scrambles instead, and at least in my area they're notably expensive for what you get, which is disappointing because I remember enjoying them.
If you get the chance, you should try the "Thick and Creamy" version. The mac is much more rich since you have to add more milk and cheese powder. Kinda surprised it wasn't in this video, they're pretty common in grocery stores

Adulting means buying the cheese powder in a 5lb tub and using whatever pasta you want. For a gummier texture just add a spoon of baking soda to the pasta water. Hoosier Farms is my fave cheese powder. Also amazing on popcorn.
I make that white cheddar garlic and herb one whenever I have leftover rotisserie chicken. Shred some chicken up, make some broccoli (green beans, or frozen peas and carrots work too, whatever you prefer) and chop it up real fine. Then make the mac and mix it all up. The added ingredients help it feed more mouths (or help it last for some leftovers if you're solo) and add some flavors and nutrients to round it out as a meal on it it's own. Would really recommend for a quick meal!
I'm a huge fan of the stovetop Deluxe ones because I prefer salty cheese over sweet cheese, but also it's so much easier! I even bought a device I use to squeeze out the sauce (think a larger version of a toothpaste roller). You should try the white cheddar and cracked black peppercorn. Easy Mac is always watery and gross. I've never liked any shaped versions. I feel like they make the pasta from different ingredients.
@@Ajz092 search for Big Squeeze tube squeezing tool. It's the one with the handle and mickey mouse ears crank. Unfortunately it's not big enough to fit the entire width of the sauce packet so I get a little out and then fold the packet to fit, but it helps get all the sauce out!

3) the shapes are WAY better. You just overcooked it. 😂
4) if you want shells get velveeta or Annie’s white cheddar.
5) I’m pretty sure you overcooked everything. There shouldn’t be that much steam coming off a pasta dish. Looks like you’ve got a bowl of soup every time. Proper straining. And don’t put it back on the burner. 😂
These videos are my favorite of yours. Also loving the bit extra effort of editing. Props to the editor
I love watching these videos. All his food videos are comfort vids for me. Whenever I'm really stressed or need to relax I put them on.
The deluxe white cheddar microwaveable one is also incredible
My partner and I received a bunch of "non-perishable" items from a friend a while ago, including a few boxes of kraft dinner. Stupidly we assumed that the expiration date (which was at that point 7 years past) was non-applicable to items like KD
the taste still haunts me to this day
I can't wait for the episode of different kinds of Blue Diamond almonds.
Sungwon’s t-shirt game is unparalleled, all bangers
I absolutely hate the sound of people chewing but I watch every single ProZD food review vid. You're the only guy chewing whom I find relaxing.
i love the Let's Try videos where Sungwon gets a haircut midway 😂 reminds me of that comment on the Subway video about the food blowing his hair up or smth
i like the new editing style, but i do miss the candid nature of the old style
Thank you for creating this content, I can’t tell you how much I love it and how comforting it is.
[Macaroni stirring noises] "My wife is just starring at me awkwardly."
Me: "Yeah I wonder why."
I was watching this on my TV, and grabbed my phone just to comment that I do indeed watch these. They actually help me decide what to buy!!
The thick and creamy version is my new favorite after having only eaten original my whole life
I absolutely watch every one of these religiously, I love them. I rewatch older ones too. Heck, I'll admit some of your S and A tiers have made it into my grocery cart because before the video I didn't realize they existed (I shop curbside pickup).
