I've owned this game on the ned since I was a kid. as a kid I never beat it. i couldn't figure out the game. last week I pulled the game out to give it a try as an adult. i just beat it today without using a guide. this is a hands game that makes you feel accomplished when you beat it. i can't imagine beating this in under 4 hours.
On the ned? Tell me, which one is that? Hehe just kidding..... I'm not completely sure, but I think this was the last of the 4 on Nintendo that I picked up, and IMO I do believe it's the hardest one (Cave to Rhone, and after) ugh....... I got the original with that Nintendo Power deal in '89. Then finally got DW III for Xmas in '92 or '93 (DW IV was already out), then picked up part IV on Ebay much later (2000's I think), then this one. I used walkthroughs for them all, I've never tried without one yet, but I don't play much any more........ that's impressive to finish without a guide.
The only crest that’s hard to find is the sun crest, the water crest takes a little investigation if you know about searching ordinary tiles. You’ll find the Moon, Life, and lighthouse crest through natural exploration of the world.
I remember my brother erasing my save data when I'd gotten to the end of the game and almost beaten it. I couldn't bring myself to try again. It's nice to see you destroy it.
I really enjoy the no TAS run here, and the RNG manipulation to prevent battles threw me for a loop :P. Glad to see the video and hope for more speedruns to come!
RNG manipulation for the first part of the run, where he changed the name of the main character to a specific value to avoid all encounters until his first save.

Kenneth Mendonca no way you found all the crests without a guide

Dragon warrior 1 you’ll definitely need a guide if you don’t have the patience
when I was 13 years old I finished the 1st

Watched the whole thing. Loved this game. Thanks for the video.
1:37:17 Demighosts....... Demi Moore was in the movie Ghost :) They don't resemble her at all :O
The hardest Dragon warrior!
That friggin Cave to Rhone. UGH!!
Hargon Castle and Rhone are a fucking nightmare.
@@ButteredToast32 Absolute head into wall nightmare lol.
I would love to see you go up against seven metal slimes and keep them all from running
Any difference between uHKd and TUT in terms of seed-locking names?
None. both are mentioned and both work.
so sad to see it broken to th e point you can wander witout fights.
Love this stuff!
i wish he would have explained the RNG he used to make him not encounter any monsters and such...
Under four hours is rather impressive.
And it's so painful to see you flee from metal babbles but I know why.
Still.
Que pro, lo intente hace tiempo y eso que a mi se me dan estos juegos pero me rendi. nunca encontre el token del sol escondido ni la llave dorada
Watching the level up part is exhausting...........
It's all part and parcel.
So is this a TAS or a RNG manipulation?
RNG manipulation for the first part of the run, where he changed the name of the main character to a specific value to avoid all encounters until his first save.
COD could also mean Certificate of Death, lol.
It also means 'crotch'.
