A nice and detailed review, a very nice scooter in my opinion, it's just a real shame that it doesn't have traction control of the rear wheel and key lass, these are 2 things that are already in Yamaha and Honda.

Great video, been waiting for a review of this bike, it looks amazing.
Makes the choice between the PCX and N-Max even harder. I hope Honda release an ADV-125 that could be a good competitor for this.

I've got the same dilemma was ready to purchase the sr gt something different but then the non abs has put me off and now I'm hoping honda release a ADV-125 hopefully with the forza 125 engine at just under 15bhp but lighter narrower and shorter would be perfect.

@@MrMkhaliq this could have been written by me. I'd buy this today if it had ABS. It's exactly what I'm after. Fingers crossed honda bring out and adv 125. But that has even less storage space..

I have a medley 125 20 plate after having a pcx and Forza 125 i can confirm the engine on the Piaggio is the best ive had. Add this styling and its a winning combo. Cannot wait to trade my one in and get the Aprilla. Been waiting for this scooter for over a year.

Having bought one of these new in March and so far covered 1500 miles, I can safely say that your review is totally accurate. Most previous reviews I've watched give me the impression that they have had half an hour on it and formed a half cocked opinion.
I agree with everything you say, and would add I've come to scooters after many years on bikes but as the years take their toll I need something fairly light, so after two pcx's, but this is the scooter I always wanted . I'd describe it as a midi scooter as it has an overall more grown up appearance and does handle like a motorcycle. Far superior (Showa) suspension, Nissan calipers , strangely I prefer linked brakes on a scooter, as the pcx has front wheel abs and I preferred my 2017 pcx that had linked. Even the little things like a rev counter and ambient temperature in the nice dash make a difference for me. So now its done a few miles it's nicely loosened up. Have to agree though neither of mt full face helmets fit under the seat

I agree with you everything is awesome on this the styling etc. But 125cc,, come on it's a bloody joke. Why don't they just literally put a 400cc engine into this, it would easily fit. Why don't bike manufacturers do that in these smaller good sized frames, instead they come out with a massive bulky cumbersome scooter with the 400cc engine that nobody really wants

IMHO, you're wrong about the brake selection for this bike. ABS is useless, aka dangerous, on loose pavement and off-road riding. I'm a big fan of combined braking. This is an ADV, not strictly a city bike. Stock tire selection is your first clue! Direct competition to the Honda ADV 160.

      @@JakeM218
You don't really get a choice. It's based on vehicle color and options. Pay more and you get the linked ABS, which comes with the keyless option, which only comes in certain colors. I know. I own one.
And I did a panic stop on it the first night and almost ran into my wife! Useless ADV tires. Motorcycle skills kicked in and saved my ass from total embarrassment. The linked ABS ACTIVATED... and I watched and felt the horror of the front tire totally skidding along on dirt and small asphalt.
Basically, it's like any Honda. Linked brakes if you buy the DCT model. Well, what other model have you seen in the dealership?! So... It's not really a choice.

  • @ruslanmuzhikov3962

I rode the sr gt 200 all summer. I will compare it with my previous scooter - the Honda ADV 160: in my opinion, the Aprilia has 4 significant drawbacks:
    1) the rear suspension is not designed for 2 people, I had to add a 9mm spacer to increase the spring preload
    2) there is no keyless entry (and this is in 2023!)
    3) the engine mount to the frame is too loose, when crossing the markings, the rear wheel wobbles, and there is no feeling of solidity, as it was on the Honda
    4) no traction control
Therefore, I think that the Honda ADV 160 is a much more successful scooter

From experience? The Piaggio / Aprilia group invested the modern day scooter engine.
By comparison, Honda make reliable cars but their small capacity engines commonly drink oil and don’t last - yet everyone assumes “Japanese reliability”. Helmet head on UA-cam has had to have his Honda engine rebuilt after a few thousand miles. Also Noraly has had problems with her Honda through Africa.

I'm sure its a quality and practical scooter from Aprilia, but i have to disagree on the looks.
I really don't like the look of crossover scooters, and this one is no exception....it looks too high at the front, and as though half its face is missing. Thats why in my opinion crossovers will never look good.
I think Aprilia missed an opportunity to actually design a scooter that's suits its sports bike image as a brand, and create a 125/155 sports scooter that would have been a flagship model to their iconic SR50R. Even that other famous Italian sports scooter, the Gilera Runner does not exist any more, and Aprilia could have filled this vacuum too.
ENTER YAMAHA!!! They have such a scooter.
I own a true sports scooter that has not yet been introduced in Europe.....the Yamaha Aerox 155. To anyone that has not seen this amazing scooter, i urge you to check it out.
Yamaha has designed a gorgeous sports bike looking scooter.
Being a Yamaha, they went all out to design & deliver a sports scooter that handles like a motorbike....and includes ABS, keyless start, LED headlights/ taillights, digital dash, 14'' wheels with beefy wide tires, and a 4 valve, liquid cooled, fuel injected 155cc engine that includes VVA Variable Valve Actuation. (this is the same engine as the Nmax 155.)
It has the best power to weight figures in this segment the world over.
They have only been introduced in all the major Asean markets, but they have been a huge success since being launched in 2016 at the Sepang MotoGP event by the one and only Valentino Rossi. They even have there own race series in Asia.
Like Yamaha, Aprilia is also competing in MotoGP these days, and i just think its such a shame they did not bring out a true competitor to the Aerox, and make a sports scooter, instead of an ugly crossover, but I'm sure Aprilia will sell heaps of them just the same and be satisfied.
No, not for me, not even close....i love my desirable Yamaha Aerox 155, and always will.
