Arrival to earth was not used well in this film. It plays for a few seconds and in the worst ending we've had yet
WHOAAAA!!! There is still PLENTY of us Die Hard Joes fans sir!!! The movies failed because they don’t know how to properly do them right. Has zero to do with lack of interest or fans homie. But they are Real American Heroes, so I’m sure you never had any connection to them
@@xshxr Its a movie about marketable robots that turn into vehicles from a planet made of metal that are fighting because of they couldn't get along, so anything is possible.
The one thing I absolutely loved the most was that they actually spoke to each other in vehicle mode. It actually gave them more opportunity to characterize the bots and I can’t believe it was never done sooner in the movies, aside from Bumblebee (the character, not the film).
The only thing that could have made it better would be the headlights flashing when they talk, like in Animated or the Unicron trilogy
@@benjamingomez1761 while that would have been amazing, realistically it would give them away instantly, and make them very suspicious, kinda ruining the whole 'robots in disguise' thing.

I liked that they talked in vehicle mode and showed the radio lighting up more as they spoke it was cool and reminded me of TF Prime it was awesome to see and I love that they actually utilize their vehicle modes rather than just been cool sports cars in the Bayverse
We did get Unicron’s classic theme right at the start of the movie too, it’s the first piece of music you hear as the studio logos are shown and he approaches the maximal Homeworld

@@novustalks7525 yea, I could second that, I love the original theme so much, but even just hearing those four updated notes gave me hella chills! Maybe as the movies go on his theme will gradually evolve until in movie 3 we’re faced with an epic reinvention of the whole theme
Yeah! Also, "Unicron Approaches" seems to borrow some elements from "Death of Optimus Prime." Super cool.
One of my person favorite easter egg, that wasn't mentioned in the vid, is all the trophy emblems that scourge had. The most notable ones for me include regular Autobot and Decepticon, Beast Wars Predacon, and two sub factions of the autobots. I could be wrong about the exact factions, but they reminded me of both the elite guard and the wreckars.
My eldest son spotted those while I was looking elsewhere. He said one of the badges was from a mercenary.

Well, my first thought wasn't the original G.I.Joe cartoon but the DW story where the 'Cons are enslaved by Cobra; it'd be the perfect reason why none of them appeared in this movie.

Can't recall the exact line, but Optimus Prime saying to stop spending so much time at drive-in movies definitely felt like an Easter egg to me, given the pivotal events that happened with Bumblebee and drive-ins in the original '80s comic.
Loved Micos reference 😂 I really do think that Charlie will show up in future films, if not, probably Noah due to him working for G.I. Joe.
Interestingly enough, the Latin American dub of the movie has Prime Namedropping Charlie;
He says: "I know Charlie was good to you..." a little nice continuity detail that sets that Prime took the time to hear the whole story from Bee
I don't think mirage got any bigger with the dump truck I think that one was 100% a hologram
well a garbage truck is also mostly hollow space on the inside so its not like he had a major mass disparity to make up for
I noticed when the Autobots and Maximals were about to head to the volcano Wheeljack said sometinhg along the lines of "we're gonna die" a reference to Rattrap's signature quote from Beast Wars.
So "Marky Mark" was just Steven's way of telling the audience that Lorenzo is in fact a complete twat.
Arrival to Earth brought a single tear to my eye. I got full body goosebumps when it played and now I really can't wait for the Blu Ray release.

I still can't belive that they put "Arival to Earth" in the movie. When that melody started, my childhood just flooded back into my memory.
The Easter egg that I noticed was in the trailer when Noah touched Mirage steering wheel and the autobot symbol showed up and that same thing happened when Sam touched Bumblebees steering wheel in the 2007 transformers movie

About the dump truck scene. Maybe it was a mix of transformation AND his illusions? Just to stay consistent to Mirage’s mass, MAYBE he was just part of the cab (enough for Noah to be at the right driver’s height) and the rest was just an hologram projection? At least that’s my headcanon now.

Mirage ability in this film is what Hound will have in G1 and ability to change shape? I mean he fused with Noah to become the armor suit. If you look at this way, it makes a lot of sense on why he have multiple Alt modes. As well as that scene where he can change the care from back to front. And it doesn’t seems like other Autobots have this ability either. This means that Mirage can be literally anything
Or maybe Hound died on cybertron and passed it to mirage.
Some transformers tend to have powers, so Mirage got lucky by getting illusions and mass shifting
I think they should have had Dinobot in the beginning scene instead of Apelink. I think giving him that death scene would have been much more impactful.

@MK Was Apelink ever the Maximal leader over Primal in any previous continuity? (I'm seriously asking because I don't know since I never read the comics he's in.)
But my point is, it didn't have to be the leader sacrificing himself. And more people in general from the beast era are more invested in Dinobot than Apelink. So it would have been a more impactful scene to show Dinobot sacrifice himself rather than a more obscure character that I feel they only really went with to save on design budget not making a whole new character.
@@PaleoAnalysis Apelinq there made more sense. As far as I remember he wasnt a Maximal leader but sharing the same body type would make more sense to put him in there. It was pretty much a backstory to how Optimus Primal became Optimus Primal and why he is the one leading the Maximals. Dinobot would just go with them instead of sacrificing himself, Apelinq was there to sacrifice himself and pass his leadership.
Who is apelinq? What series is he from?
The Unicron theme also plays very subtly the first time Scourge talks to him after getting the Transwarp Key fragment
You say we don't get the unicron music at the beginning, but as the movie started, I definitely got the sensation of that music, even if it wasn't complete, it was there in some form.
Actually the idea of Airazor being absent from Primal’s presence fits with her background as used in the Beast Wars.
10:34 oh boy, nerd time. Mirage *is* actually a rare kind of transformer: a shifter. Shifters are cybertronians with abilities passed down from amalgamous prime, that allow them to take on any form at any time
thank you for this, people are really out here mad that a transformer could--transform. i really liked that in this movie and bumblebee the bots actually use their abilities to be more than just car turning into robot. they are aliens, our laws of physics and what we think we know don't apply to them so the fact that transformations are actually being used as an effective tool and battle skill is really awesome to me.

I havent seen anyone mention this but on Scourge's arm in the beginning of the movie the various medals we see belong to factions spanding the whole timeline. Like a symbol that looks like the cybertronian autobot insignia from Animated as well as a predacon insignia.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Mirage’s original G1 toy bio mention him using illusions as part of his natural abilities? I know that got interpreted into the invisibility we know from the cartoon, but if that’s correct then that means ROTB Mirage draws a bit from his toy bio as well.
That's correct. Mirage was supposed to project images of himself as distractions, to appear where he wasn't, and that tied in to him somehow using illusion to blend into the background.
I think we'll probably see more Maximals eventually. Considering freaking Apelinq was in this, when Airazor said there were none left my mind immediately went to the plethora of toy only Maximal characters from the Beast Wars toyline.
Some of my fav Easter Eggs have definetly got to be Mirage turning into an F1, Takara Tomy appearing on the PC screen, Primus being name dropped, Primal saying Maximize and Optimus doing an entire waist swivel when transforming
He also name dropped Ferrari most likely this would be his future vehicle mode aka 09 458 Italia
I assumed that Mirage was some sort of Shifter, kind of like Makeshift in Transformers Prime. He can assume any form he chooses, owing either to a relation to Amalgamous Prime, or his camouflage abilities.
Going with IDW lore he might be a an outlier, his special ability might be unlimited or at least multiple alt modes, for instance sixshoot had 6 alt modes
Leaving the easters eggs for a moments, i can't believe they put 53% tomatometer for this movie 💀

Scourge looked more like some kind of mix between Galvatron and Megatron, also his vehnicle mode was a lot simular to Megatron from Dark of the Moon.

I felt that since the human-sized 'Iron-Man' suit didn't really possess an alt mode, it was more like Energon/SuperLink Kicker's armour rather than G1. [Alternatively, it could also be a nod to a regular Pretender shell (sans bot inside).]
The other unsaid thing is Nightbird, albeit being a transformable robot, she may not necessarily be from Cybertron (akin to G1 in this regard). But that remains open to future revelations as we can't say which (colony?) planet specifically (or when) Unicron devoured in order to spare (and enslave) his trio of henchmen.

But Cades just confused xD it would somewhat make the transformers multiverse more varied than marvel coz in marvel movies so far, the changes between the same character from different dimensions are usually minor whereas here it could be one universe where Cade is who he is and another reality he's a famous actor xD

It'd a strange and minor nitpick all things considered, but ine thing that annoyed me a little about the film is that it sort of implies that the Aztecs and Inca civilisations were 5,000 years old, which is false, those are recent. I'm pretty sure the Inca empire appeared in the Andes in the 12th century.
I think what the film meant is that they just built on older structures and Mesoamericans in general just had contact with the Maximals (the Inca arose from other groups in the area after all), but it didn't get it across well.
The Inca empire was @C12th and the Aztec @C13th, but developed out of what the archaeologists refer to as the Andean Civilisations, which were many thousands of years old. The Mayans preceded both, btw.
I gave the mistake a pass because people will recognise the terms Inca and Aztec, but Valdivia and Chavin...? Anyway, it allowed the writers to use a recognisable artform to frame the story.

There’s this Donkey Kong reference when Mirage was pointing a gun at primal Ps all the maximal that u won’t see in the movie could be killed by Scourge cause he has a couple of maximal logos on the grill of the truck mode
Actually, we did get the Unicron theme in the beginning of the film, but it was a lot more subtle that time
There were a few more subtle nods to the bumblebee movie like Bumblebee's voice being different or weird compared to the others because his voice broke in that movie and the Camero transformation 🗿

it turns out that wheeljack's design in the movie was forced to be the way it is by higher-ups at one of the production companies, but i don't think the article i read about it said exactly who forced it, but it definitely wasn't the director or hasbro who forced it
I honestly wish we just got the original Rotb ending with mirage being alive. Optimus being lost in space and bumblebee being dead show there are real stakes in the movie, while we at least get to see Noah Diaz sell mirage and complete saving his brother
I think in the beginning they used king kongs roar from the 2021 Godzilla vs kong but with a robot effect for one of the gorilla maximals

Went to watch it last Night with my Older Bro, and Dude we loved it so much!!!!
I got surprised when they mentioned Charlie (In latin spanish Optimus actually said Charlie name) cause part of me wished that to happen, The movie made me feel a mix of different emotions! I would watch it again, one of the best, and now on my Favorites, Mirage became my second favorite after Bumblebee in this movie LOL
Oh and how I'm from Latinoamerica, I obviously watched the movie on LA Spanish, and I loved the fact that they made Wheeljack Speak with an Peruan accent and Peruan Words

I must mention that eventhough Scourge has the build of Bayverse Prime, his face looked closer to Apelink to me. I dunno why because no way Scourge would take Apelink's face and just cover it with his mask anyway, but it is interesting that the two faces looked similar.
Also Mirage's ability may as well be promotional with Porsche. They tryna make him and the car along with him seem like somethig real special.
Instead of the trans warp key being the object that they must find, they should have done away from the whole Mcguffin as they always do it in the transformers films and had the main task be saving bumblebee while stopping unicron as well.
Seeing that old timer jet is so random though.
My theory is scanning a new alt mode takes a bit of energy so that's why transformers don't do to much but mirage being young was showing it off to Noah what do you think?
You missed the Easter egg when in the start of the movie when scourge kills apelinq, he takes his maximal insignia and welds it on his shoulder, on his shoulder you can see the auto bot elite guard and predacons insignias
Scourges insignias on his armor were from autobot elite guard, predacons & deceptions too right?
Yup. Scourge had a habit of collecting faction insignias from every bot he killed. In addition to those, I’m sure he has insignias from protectobots, combaticons, and wreckers

Unicorn’s theme plays when the movie starts, right before the maximal scene.
The problem with this film was the lack of characterization.
In Bumblebee, there were only 5 characters to introduce (Bumblebee, the 2 villains, and 2 human leads) which allowed for plenty of screentime for each character.
In Rise of The Beasts they had to introduce a shit ton of more characters (Mirage, 2 human leads, Optimus Prime, 3 other autobots, 4 maximals, 3 terracons, and unicron). This disrupts any sort of connection to form with the characters leading the viewer to not be fully invested in the final battle.
For the Transformers: The lack of depiction causes each character to be boring. The main character Optimus Prime in this film has 0 personality and comes off as a bland stereotypical leader. Whereas the main character in Bumblebee has specific attributes and qualities such as his courage, his optimism, and his compassion that the viewer really gets to witness in his interactions with Charlie
Villain Problem: The villains literally have 0 persoanlity besides just wanting to take over the Earth.
In conclusion, I believe this film had the potential to be quite good if they had solidified each significant character before going into the film. Had they made an Optimus Prime solo movie and solo movie on the beasts, the viewers would've actually cared about the final battle. This movie shares many similarities with the first Avengers movie (2012). The only difference is that each avenger had their own solo outings prior to the film allowing the viewers to gain a connection with the characters.
After watching the movie yesterday, I was thinking the same thing.
Loved the movie!!Every character was excellent. Maximals&Autobots together was fire man!!.Arcee was finally done right and kicked ass!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
My guess for Mirage is that it'll be some kind of plot thread about Transformers having CNA dating back to the Thirteen Primes, with Mirage being descended from Amalgamous Prime and his ability to just transform into whatever he wanted with no need to scan a specific alt mode. Wheeljack could be in the lineage of Alchemist, Arcee from Solus, Primal from Onyx, Stratosphere from Alpha Trion, and Optimus being the direct reincarnation of the Thirteenth Prime. Bumblebee would have no inherent lineage, being the only Autobot soldier other than Cliffjumper who was built for battle, but that would also leave him free to choose his own path as a citizen of Cybertron... and free to remain on Earth as its protector.
They cut out most of the chase scene in Peru, one where Optimus Prime rams Scourge in their Vehicle Mode
Did the opening take place in the past or in the future since maximalismo are descendants of the bots. It’d be the maximals past but the auto bots future?
I feel like if they had sector seven in the post credit scene instead of gi joe it would have gone down a lot smoother
There was actually a reference (not rlly sure if it's a reference) to transformers fall of cybertron game. In the final battle after Optimus prime killed scourge, he said that he will sacrifice himself to stop unicron from coming and then Optimus primal said "Your sacrifice becomes our oath" and if you compare that to this one scene in the game when metroplex sacrificed himself, Optimus prime said "Your sacrifice will not be forgotten" so it's a bit similar to each other if you think about it, again not really sure if it's a reference 😅
I thought since the maximal were from the future that the opening scene was in the future and now I get why the movie works so much better.
I'm left thinking where are the other Autobots from BB (Ironhide, Ratchet, Brawn)
