I can answer this easily. If Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts are connected to the Bayverse, then why do we have Unicron coming in Rise of the Beasts when Last Knight said he was Earth as reference to Prime?
The bayverse has a smaller unicron that can be the earth. While the new timeline or continuity has a sepreate bigger unicron which means that it doesn't connect
Something that needs to be mentioned is that in the intro to the 2007 movie, optimus said that earth was "an unknown planet". Meaning he never been to earth prior to 2007. Which disproves Lorenzo's statement that the autobots went to earth in the 80's, left earth and came back again in 2007. Further proving the fact that it's a reboot
@@zacharymessner6157than why Optimus called earth an unknown planet, and why earth is unicron in the last knight when in rise of the beasts earth and unicron are two diffrent things, just accept that bayverse is over
@@toamszkozak8822 the unknown planet is retconed in further bay films as they filled in the history along with the retcon of bumblebee getting his voice back in TF1 and steven caple jr has hinted at that time travel might be the way they defeat unicron in ROTB by sending him to the past thus allowing him to become the earth
I’m not gonna lie. Having Megatron in the beginning of Bumblebee would have felt like having a thanos cameo in the first Iron man movie. It would’ve felt premature, and I’m glad they axed the scene regardless of the reason for it
To me the Bumblebee movie is to Transformers what First Class was to Xmen. It started off as a prequel but will eventually end up splitting the timeline ala Days of Future Past. Rise of the Beasts may very well be that split, since the Maximals are ALWAYS linked to time travel. I think things like the maximals being from "another planet" is a misdirect, likely created by Primal himself to protect Prime from the truth that theyre his decendents. Things like Unicron not being the core of the Earth, Prime et al arriving on Earth way earlier than they shouldve and, if we take the toys into account, already having a matrix of leadership make no sense unless we take into account that the Maximals already split the timeline when they arrived in the past, possibly even before Bumblebee takes place. Imo, ignore ANYTHING Lorenzo says and take the events of the movies themselves as proof.
@@cvrriculum1322SPOILER ALERT. It is. The start of the movie is the Maximals fleeing from the Terrorcons from a planet via the Transwarp key, a device which has the ability to bend space and time (think of it like a Space bridge time machine). The Maximals get to Earth roughly 500 years before 1994, break the Transwarp key in half and go into hiding. As the movie progresses and the Autobots meet the Maximals for the first time, Optimus Primal's name is revealed by Airazor. Optimus Prime is confused but Primal tells Prime that he (Primal) was named after Optimus Prime, "the great warrior of Cybertron" (paraphrasing). Fast forward a little bit and Primal tells Airazor, "He isn't the Prime I was expecting" (Paraphrasing again but you understand.). All these points prove that the Maximals are from the future and time travelled to 500 years before 1994. It is unclear and unstated when and where the Maximals were in the opening scene of the movie (For where they were, they could've been on Earth or a similar planet to Earth due to the lush greens and blue oceans in the environment during the wide shots. For when they were is a little tricky. It could've been that they were originally from the future, travelled to nearby planets to protect them and then go back in time to 500 years before 1994 (I keep using that sentence even though I should just subtract the years) or they were originally from the future, travelled to a prehistoric version of a planet for some reason and then escaped to the year 1494 on Earth.) It's a shame they didn't reveal when and where they were in that opening scene. Or maybe they did and I didn't see it due to me putting my straw into my cup (CURSE YOU, PAPER STRAWS!!!). If it was included, then the where and when segment of this comment should be disregarded. TLDR; Time travel is involved due to the Maximals originating from the future and time travelling to Earth year 1494 AD. In my when segment above, both options need time travel to be possible, either the Maximals were from the future and travelled to a prehistoric Earth, then time jumped to 1494 or the Maximals were from the future, stayed in that time and time jumped back to 1494 AD Earth. Ps : Just go watch the movie. I rate it a solid 8/10.
@@shadeK.I.D it is heavily implied that there may be time travel but it may no be primes known as more for his actions then who he is, the maximals probably evolved faster than us and created the key
I like the theory of it being a alternate timeline thing where there are constant and variables, things are different but some events and things do remain the same, where Unicron did woke up and is going around the multiverse and the maximals were originally from the bayverse
@@thepaladin4335 I said I like the theory of it, I didn't say it was an actual thing I hope it was or that it is the thing. Don't need to be a dipshit on it, I wasn't making a point on anything at all, I was sharing an opinion that sounds interesting
In my interview with Director Caple, releasing tonight, I bring this question to him. The confusion is really being reinforced by Lorenzo. But I'm going with Director Caple on this one. ROTB is a new direction.
New direction and reboot are two totally different things I can go to Marvel Studios a give them this idea for a prequel film that takes everything to a whole new level and have my own direction for it but it’s still connected to the MCU if I wanted to reboot the MCU I would use Secret Wars and recast everybody and start from scratch afterwards same situation here ROTB is going in a new story direction that differs from what we are used to but here’s the thing it’s set in the 90s years before 2007 and there are still ties from the Bayverse movies that are present in ROTB therefore making it a prequel just with a new story idea we haven’t seen yet but that doesn’t mean it’s a reboot
In Bayverse Optimus Prime arrived in 2007. Unicron is Earth. Bumblebee fought Nazis🙄. Bumblebee movie and Rise of the beasts are clearly a reboot like cmon guys…
As someone who grew up with the Bayverse movies, this reboot is absolutely necessary. Towards the end, the Bayverse got REALLY messy in several aspects. And the lore itself is just all over the place Tf1: the Cybertronian war for the Allspark Tf2: The introduction of the 13 Primes and the Matrix Tf3: the introduction of Sentinel Prime and the pillars Tf4: the introduction of the Dinobots and the seed that belongs to the creators Tf5: the introduction of Unicron, Quintessa, the staff and the guardian 12 knights that form a Cybertronian dragon That’s all too damn much and it’s like each movie reveal tries to top the last but lacks good continuity Hopefully this reboot establishes a more clear path and road for new lore
The true answer is that it's a reboot Hasbro's just going back and forth on it's placement for marketing reasons. The same thing happened with bumblebee but in reverse the movie was originally planned to be a prequel to the bay film's but Hasbro feared that nobody would show up to watch the movie if it was marketed as a bay film so they turned it into a reboot. Besides if you actually watched bumblebee or any of the trailers for rotb you'd realize that none of the events, storylines, or characters that debuted in those films could fit in the Bayverse and trying to tie them together into one big series would only further damage the continuity of not only the Bayverse but the reboot films too.
He's misinterpreting not only Knight's words but also the 2019 Hasbro reps. Knight's goal wasn't to reboot the franchise, he only disregarded certain things and made decisions he felt he needed to make the movie work, irregardless of any continuity inconsistencies (which he acknowledges characterizes these movies), and he was very much onboard with maintaining continuity with the Bay films. The 2019 Hasbro reps also did NOT declare the film a rebooted franchise, but they were definitely trying to (but being reckless with their words) communicate that they started this new prequel series set decades before the original film series which opened up new possibilities for future storytelling within the movie franchise. Also, the "reboot" that Lorenzo mentioned was clearly meant to refer to the Beast Wars movie which was a separate project at the time. Director Steven Caple Jr. saying "it's like a true reboot" was in reference to how different the movie is from previous films, NOT stating that the film is an actual reboot. What Lorenzo meant is that they are still in the past with this prequel series and have not yet reached the point where the 2007 events start, but if they keep closing the gap then eventually they will have to directly connect them. Also, NO! Steven was NOT saying in that Hollywood Reporter interview that it was a reboot, he was stating the EXACT OPPOSITE in very clear words! He said this film doesn't contradict or mess up the timeline of the 2007 film, but that it maintains that continuity, meaning it is a PREQUEL! The reason he says it is "chronologically the second movie" is because it is a PREQUEL! He's just being in denial throughout this entire video... The only real reason this whole debate exists is because a lot of fans WANTED it to be a reboot and consistently interpreted everything in that context, neglecting the actual reality. This is a horrible video and horribly biased against the evidence...
@@Xenosaurian you're that same dude who can't grasp that the new movies are a reboot in fact I remember having an argument with you about one or two years ago you're also that guy that hates the monsterverse because Kong lost against Godzilla. @@ashuraomega7113 Yeah, GVK was a horribly written movie that horribly downplayed and mistreated Kong in favor of zilla. Disregarding that note, this is a confirmed prequel by the entire crew behind this prequel series. Just accept reality.
@@Xenosaurian not true at all. Say what you want about GVK but hating it because Kong lost is extremely childish and in reality he wouldn't be able to touch Godzilla. And they never confirmed it was a prequel they just said that it doesn't directly interfere with the bay movie's because these two continuities are not connected. You're not seeing the bigger picture here the movies don't even align with the Bayverse why would the Autobots send bumblebee to Earth all by himself only to go to Earth later, fight Unicron and the Terrorcons, then leave, then come back and never mention that they were on Earth before? And don't bring up TLK because the autobots never went to Earth before the first film. The Bayverse is over. Just accept reality.
It seems like Paramount wanted to keep it vague so they can say it's a reboot while also saying it's not by keeping Megatron out of the picture. That way they can gain new fans into the franchise while also bringing back old Bayverse fans with that syrup of "it's a prequel". The new designs also help keep things fresh and no one would really argue with a mix of Bayverse and G1 designs. In my headcannon, I'd like to think that some events vaguely followed the Bayverse but in an alternate timeline. About Lorenzo, he's just pretty much saying continuity and Bayverse is a problem for future me to think about.
I think Paramount not directly stating that the new movies are reboot or not is purely due to financial reasons. ROTB will try to recapture the same success as the Bay movies. If this one will be financially successful then Paramount will officially declare the new movies as a reboot.
Indeed, they feared that if they declare it a reboot too early, the Bayverse fans will see no point of showing up, & it'll affect the box office performance as a whole. They're trying to trick both sides into showing up so they can make more money, while allowing the fans to dictate whether it's a reboot or prequel after watching the movie.
@@wayneshobbygallery but that would still drive Bayverse fans away if the film is financially successful and declared a reboot because a lot of Bayverse fans are still craving for a proper conclusion to TLK regardless of how garbage the movie was Paramount would have to declare these movies as prequels and decanonize TLK and AOE and keep DOTM as the original conclusion as it always should’ve been thus keeping Bayverse fans interested after the new trilogy is complete and connects with the 2007 movie then they can announce a proper reboot
what im excited for in this reboot is to see how they would handle ratchet and the others to eventually see that, i can see them doing a better job based off how the transformers have more personality they before like with how arcee is more acrobatic , mirage acts like a teen , wheeljack is the friendly yet gentle and squishy quasi-boyfriend of arcee and optimus prime hasn't become the optimus we know yet. scourge is menacing , battletrap seems tough and as for why the autobots are so small in the movie simple. the autobots were made to be weak for the sake of making the maximals look good.
Well that still wouldn't work, how does Optimus & the boys come to earth in 2007, but before Optimus came in 1987? & How do you explain the Terrorcons & Maximals & Unicron himself (even if you ignore TLK, Bayverse Optimus should still know abt the Terrorcons, Maximals, & Unicron IF RotB was part of the Bayverse)! & remember when Optimus said "I found an unknown planet, Earth, I need you to go there & establish a base for us" in the BBM & I'm pretty sure Bayverse Optimus said earth was an unknown planet, too, so why would he say that earth is an unknown planet like he was never there if he was there in 1987 & the '90s? Its definitely a reboot, no doubt abt that! Trying to fit the 2 continuities together is like trying to fit a square piece into a star-shaped slot (like those toy things), they simply do not fit. I'm just saying

Personally, when I first went to see Bumblebee, I had thought this was Prequel to Transformers 2007 because of what I was being told and heard from friends who had seen this movie. However, in 2019, around the time Travis Knight had his interview with Movie Fone, I realized that Bumblebee was a reboot simply because the continuity doesn't line up with Micheal Bay's Transformers Movies. So when I heard Rise of the Beasts was a sequel to Bumblebee, I immediately knew this was a part of the rebooted timeline, despite Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura's constantly contradicting statements. Also, I think you put it best at 31:03. Lastly, while I do agree with what you said at 32:15, I don't think that will ever happen because The Last Knight, much like all the Transformers movies, is very expensive to make, so there is no way they're going to disregard that movie. On top of all that, aside from some other continuity errors, it really does seem Paramount and Hasbro want to ignore The Last Knight, and I can't say I blame them for that because even though I grew with Michael Bay Transformers Movies, I do agree with many that you can argue that The Last Knight is one of worst transformers movies, rivaling Revenge of the Fallen and Age of Extinction.
Haven't seen it yet but, I'm wondering if it will talk about the whole alternate universe thing. (He didn't) Edit: Alright, pretty sure it was obvious it was a reboot. I mean unless every single bot and con just decided to magically change their design. And Unicron using his godly powers to rewrite history. Tbh, I don't think aoe and tlk should be considered Canon at all. To many continuity errors and plot points that would make it impossible for them to be Canon. For example, the transformers being on earth the whole time. Rotf and dotm did a great job on showing how transformers have been on earth before. But tlk ummm....yeah
If you ask me, both Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts are the start of a rebooted franchise, since in trailer two Unicron appears in it like his 1986 design rather than the TLK one, Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts, until further evidence says otherwise, Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts will be and always be a rebooted franchise
All Transformers movies are apart of a cinematic MULTIVERSE! The Beyverse movies are in a parallel universe from Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts. There. Problem solved. Now somebody PLEASE tell Lorenzo before he does another interview…
Yep. That's my thought, why I call the live-action side of Transformers the *_Movieverse_* and refer to the two timelines as the Bay-line and Knight-line *(oh hey I just created new TF Names for potential OCs lmao)* But back on track, this is how I justify both continuities still existing. They're seperate timelines, and much like before the dawn of the MCU, The Bay films*_(in their current status)$* are essentially what the Pre-2008 Iron-Man era of Marvel films(Fox X-Men, Nick Cage Ghost Rider, Blade, 2003 Hulk, Fantastic 4, etc.) are: The era before the MCU. Bay Films are in the same boat, tried to be a CU(Pre-MCU), didn't work out so they wiped the slate clean, creating a new timeline with their new '2008 Iron-Man' starting film(Bumblebee in this case)
The fact that this is such a serious debate is crazy. It was clear from the moment they released the second film they didnt have any sense of cohesive continuity and was always continuously confirmed with each entry. Each movie established a different time period that they first arrived and different reasons and theres always a maguffin that breaks the previous movie.
@stanshatter3875 As for all of that stuff in 'TF 5: TLK' about Autobots and Decepticons from the prior 4 films having been on Earth in the 1940s and beforehand, it could easily be established that Edmund Burton made it all up & fabricated those related objects seen in that room in his mansion out of boredom, but due to his old age, he ended up believing that it was all true and Cogman didn't correct Edmund, because he found it amusing. Also, it's worth mentioning that in 'TF 5: TLK', when Edmund said that he knew Bumblebee when he was a kid, Bumblebee had no idea what he was talking about, and when Cade Yeager tried to encourage 'Bee by mentioning 'Bee's supposed days as "ZB-7" during World War 2, 'Bee seemed to have no idea what he was talking about. The people who claim that 'Bumblebee' and 'TF: ROTB' aren't prequels to 'Transformers'[2007] lack imagination, and somehow fail to either realize or remember that 'Bumblebee' was made with the intention of it being a prequel to 'Transformers'[2007]! They even used Bobby Bolivia's speech about cars & their owners in the 1st trailer for 'Bumblebee'! If all of that wasn't enough, the motion comic short film 'Sector 7 Adventures: Battle At Half Dome' absolutely solidifies the fact that 'Bumblebee' is a prequel to 'Transformers'[2007]! Surely by the end of the sequel to 'TF: ROTB', the Autobots(except for Bumblebee, of course) are somehow gonna leave Earth. Either the creative team has simply de-canonized 'TF 5: TLK' or there's going to be a time travel explanation for why Unicron wasn't the Earth's core in 'TF: ROTB'. Maybe after 'TF: ROTB', Unicron wound up getting sucked into a black hole that sent him billions of years into the past, and then, the Earth wound up being formed around him.
reasons why people say it's a reboot: completely new plotline, unicron is not earth, autobots have been on earth for almost a decade, protoforms in 2007, everyone in the movie is smaller reasons why people say its a prequel: chronologically it would take place before 2007 yeah, thats all ive heard
Steven Capple jr said himself that unicron in this film might be defeated by sending him in the past thus keeping the bay continuity where he later becomes earth
There's a few other things like megatron not being seen because he'd be in earth's moon. But you also have issues with sector 7 that just show these 2 universes are barely even connected
Incorrect, the reason we affirm it's a prequel is because it's been repeatedly confirmed by the studio and the directors, writers, and producers in interviews and the films themselves maintain various elements that demonstrates continuity.
I’ve always thought that Megatron was the reason they lost contact with the capital and in universe reason as to why we don’t see that scene in Bumblebee is because it’s not important to the story of bumblebee and will be a post credits scene in RoTB or a flashback scene in the next transformers explaining where he’s been in this new timeline. Multiverse as a concept means the bayverse can still be canon. But that’s just my opinion.
That could work, it makes sense. Megatron being somewhere else on Cybertron annihilating the Autobot Capital, rendering Arcee's attempts to contact them futile.
What you said abt Megatron destroying the capital makes ALOT of sense & I can see it or something like it being canon to the movies (BBM & RotB, ofc)! & I actually kinda agree with you abt the Bayverse being another universe!
@@wayneshobbygallery it would actually be really cool if they made it more like the attack on (what I assume to be Iacon city) was more of a co-ordinated assault.
Thanks for breaking this down. Glad to see others know it's a reboot. Moral of the story, NEVER ask Lorenzo about continuity. He seems CONVINCED this is some insane continuity error filled timeline like the xmen films 😂.
I do feel more towards a reboot idea. As some of the dialogue in bumblebee don’t ad up to the 2007 movie. Also bay ruined the TF movie universe so badly after last knight, I don’t think a 6th movie would be impossible. As for rise of the beast, unicron isn’t earth, and is he’s own plant.
They could also say that this movie and the Bumblebee film take place in another universe of its own while the bayverse films are in another universe. If they wanna make a franchise like the MCU and the DCEU and then connect them both in the end to create a universal war like no other.
After watching RotB, it seems clear that they were hedging their bets so it could go either way... including that shocking mid-credits scene though sure feels like them finally taking a stand on it being a reboot.
I think it's a reboot because not only the fact that Optimus and the others arrived to the earth in the 2007 film, but the fact there's no Megatron in the actual film it's because if there's Scourge, then there are Cyclonus and Galvatron. For who doesn't know that, Galvatron is Megatron upgraded by Unicron, and he's the superior of Cyclonus, while Scourge is subordinate to Cyclonus. So this is all connected to the theory that this film is a reboot.
As a kid we all loved the bayfromer films micheal bay really showed transformers in an amazing way and I really agree with the disappointing performance of the last knight. I still remember when I watched bumblebee and thinking that if the bayverse had come to an end but now we have rise of the beasts coming so let's enjoy and see what happens bro 🤘
fact of the matter is, the events of bumblebee and ROTB create GAPING continuity holes with the bayverse. No matter what lorenzo claims, the two timelines are irreconcilable, even with just 2007. i'll be considering it a reboot for the foreseeable future.
If we ignore the last night it easily can connect. Who says the autobots don’t leave at the end of the new trilogy and bumblebee stays to watch over earth?
@@zacharymessner6157 Unicron is not the earth, bee arrived after WW2, Optimus arrived in 2007 calling it an “unknown planet” are a few that come to mind

I personally think is a prequel, just think at it, rotb is the first in this new trilogy, if unicron is first in the trilogy imagine all possible next threats, at the end when autobots won, prime leaves bee since he was first to arrive on earth to keep an eye on the human race from decepticons and he goes back in space to leave the planet to chill out until TF1
Personally, i view this continuity as not a Reboot or Prequel. Its a Rewrite. Theyre taking thee bayverse, and changing elements of it to for more in line with both the actual Bayverse and the Fans' views of the series and what they shouldve done in the first place.
Thank you so much for doing all the research building this video! The whole reboot debate makes more sense now. I'm confident in the director's words, not the producer, that this universe is indeed a reboot. The producer's job is to make sure the film is profitable, and doesn't generally know all the details. It's very hard to deal with producers. As a director, you need to constantly explain things to them over and over again, so Lorenzo finally gets it now after 5 years.
I think what they should of done to explain why Megatron wasn't part of the battle on Cybertron is that either he was at a different battle location since we don't know exactly where the fight was Let's just say the battle we see in the film was at Iacon the autobot capital city while Megatron as defending Kaon, the Decepticon capital city from some autobot push (idk let's say the wreckers and Ultra Magnus stopping Megatron) or a different explination is that Megatron could of been offworld conquering colony planets, since we can assume the Maximals are from Eukaris aka the Jungle Planet/Beast Planet it could theorize that there are other cybertronian like colony planets like Velocitron or Aquatron, and that it could be said Megatron and the bulk of his Decepticon Army is focusing on those colony planets instead of the main push against the autobots, idk these are just two examples to explain away why Megatron wasn't present on Cybertron during the opening fight that isn't the frozen in ice since one more reason I place Bumblebee in the Reboot box over prequel, if Bumblebee was a prequel, then why no mention of the Allspark? the whole point in the first film of why the war started?
Exactly! Megatron leaving Soundwave, Starscream & Shockwave to lead the Decepticon armada just to search for something on Cybertron makes sense. They're the only ones he trusts, well, perhaps except Starscream
@@wayneshobbygallery Even if its not something on cybertron and he is off world taking over something like Velocitron or Aquatron, Megatron could of easily been said to be either at a different battle or my more preferred theory he is offworld conquering other colony's to boost his ranks, as for what you said yea I would belive Megatron leaving the two waves behind to push the fight on cybertron, Starscream eh as the seeker commander one could say the decepticon Seekers would only do what he commands so best to make starscream happy by giving him the illusion of power.
@@RandomMackem0069_Official The correct quote that arcee said is "they lost contact with the capital" not lost the capital as a whole so it still could stand that the battle they are fighting in could be at Iacon, just not in the center of it, iacon is a large city, it could be fought anywhere there but then again we don't get an actual location of where the fight is so I was using that to theorizes where Megatron could be at the point in time.
Ya, This is 100% a reboot, not just cuz Steven Caple Jr. said so & Travis Knight either wanted it to be or implied it, its a reboot cuz theres literally WAYY too many things different between the 2 continuities that BBM & RotB just cannot fit into the Bayverse, its like trying to fit a square piece into a star-shaped slot (like those toy things), it simply cannot fit, doesn't matter how many times you try, it just won't!!!!! & I'm really hyped for RotB & really hope its a AWESOME TF movie & I can't wait to see how this rebooted continuity (the Knightverse) turns out!!!!! I hope the Knightverse can be SOO good & destroys the Bayverse in quality!!! I hope RotB is a really good TF movie like BBM!!! 'Til All are One!!!!!! & what if Optimus has the Matrix of Leadership (real one, not the Squiggly-line of Leadership like Bayverse) in RotB & he uses it to defeat Unicron in TF4 (final movie in RotB's Unicron Trilogy, not final movie in Knightverse), cuz if I remember correctly, the Matrix is the ONLY thing that can defeat Unicron!!! That would be AWESOME!!!!!! Edit: & also, Optimus' face looks better than Bayverse, & a little different! Overall, its better than Trailer 1 & Bayverse face! I like it actually!
I'm happy they pushed the release date. I would rather wait almost another year to watch a well worked on film than see a rushed, unfinished movie. The wait is going to be worth it.
That's not why it was delayed, it was delayed cause Paramount were afraid it wouldn't make as much money cause of people not going to the cinemas due to covid
I have a SNEAKY feeling they could just say The Last Knight is not part of this new continuity because of how bad it did. Connecting it to the first four. But if you see the movie..theres more to think about for the future.😂
honestly as a fan of the reboot idea , i agree with how crazy were they to think that they could just start a cinematic universe with so many popular characters done so horribly and killed off? like ratchet , elita one , ironhide , jazz and etc. i like the idea of a full reboot because we could finally see those characters do well , maybe and hopefully the new reboot has itself a version of barricade so that bumblebee could have a proper battle with him in the future. and my final statement the idea of them calling it a prequel is really just to make the bayverse fans happy until we get somewhere far ahead in the reboot like in the 6th movie inwards and then there is no more calling it a prequel.
Agreed, its definitely a reboot! & abt Barricade, maybe he can look something like his WFCT figure? Idk, but his design should be in the Knightverse aesthetic!
I hope you get the chance to make videos rewriting all 5 Bayverse Movies soon. Also, TFI Creations will be releasing his fan made Bayverse Sequel called Transformers: Finest Hour. It's coming out tomorrow around 4PM and hope you get to watch it and I'm planning on watching it, also.
This whole debate is ridiculous. Why can’t we just accept the bayverse as beloved as it was is over? It was full of retcons and continuity mistakes that made the verse feel messy. This new timeline serves as a correction of that, yet some people just can’t catch on to that fact.
Honestly, i agree. I loved the bayverse, with tlk being my first ever cinematic dissapointement, and i would certainly like a better closure to the series, but what bumblebee started and what rotb is looking like so far just seems a lot better, and Im really happy with the direction they took
dont know what you have against the bayverse but it wasn't a total mess, it was the first series ever made in a live action transformers scene, and it did great for being the first of its kind. bumblebee and rotb are reboots for a reason, to fix michael bay's messed up continuity ending, and to align cybertron and earth with different types if autobots and decepticons, like maximals and predacons
Regardless of what the movie seems to be, I'm gonna enjoy it. Though as of late, in an interview, ironically I noticed Bonaventura specifically fought tooth and nail to avoid Caple Jr. saying it was a reboot like this all has to be on one timeline.
during a recent press event Caple said its a reboot and as he was saying it Lorenzo jumped in, literally interrupting him, and declared it's not a reboot. Caple was clearly annoyed.
Unfortunately I could see them spin this being unicron in the past before he became earth like in transformers prime, but then how would you explain Scourge conferencing with him
one more thing, the designs changed due to almost a decade since bee movie, they will change again in 2007 as we know and in 2014 they update themselves to modern each time
4:32 “One irrefutable fact that almost everyone seems to agree on is that this film was terrible” The way that was just said so professionally and matter-of-factly just had me dying 💀
The one thing that separates the debate is Unicron. In the movies before Bumblebee, Unicron was inside of Earth, where as in ROTB, Unicron was a separate entity from Earth, and he wanted to eat it.
I loved Rise of the Beasts, and loved the Beast Wars Designs. I’m thought concerned about the future do the film only making 437 million dollars at the box office with a budget of 195 million dollars not including marketing. Even though I loved the film I still think we need to do another reboot so we can have a more organized line up. Here’s what would we should do first before we fix the transformers. 1. Remove Di Boniventura, I mean seriously this guy doesn’t know how to move on so it’s better that we remove him and replace him with someone like Jon Favreau to be producer. 2. Continuity is important but forget about the mythology, let’s leave that last and make a good consistent story. 3. Paramount thinks wisely on how they spend on their films and marketing, I think they should do a animated trilogy taking place on cybertron, the first movie should focus on the rising characters, the cybertron politics and conflicts, and why a war is going to happen and how it’s going to happen. The 2nd movie should focus on a War for Cybertron storyline, and the Third movie focusing on a Fall of Cybertron storyline but also setting up all the characters traveling solo from Cybertron. Then after the animated cybertron trilogy, they could do multiple solo movies on each character either arriving to earth and adapting to it or taking place on Cybertron and heading to earth. And after the multiple solo movies we could do a team up movie just titled Transformers.
@@BasedVegetaIf it's true, then it'd definitely help clear things up, just like No Way Home putting the long term "who's the best live-action Spider-Man" debacle to rest for a while.
The bay formers side is more calm and the argument isn't really coming from bayformers fans but rather on just accepting then actual facts of the situation. A lot of this stems from people who want this to be a reboot, and I feel that I despise even the 2007 movie, despite most of the production team, executives, and the director himself saying its not a reboot. Yall look emotional in this whole ordeal
@cayedaws5486 thats funny because when I read the comments some bayfans aren't accepting it 💀 and I grew up with this movies atleast I can admit it and the Steven caple jr literally said it's a reboot sooo
Here's how I see it. In the 07 movie the Cybertronians are still mostly unknown to the general public. If Unicron and the Terrorcons attack Earth in ROTB, then it can't be a prequel since I don't think humanity would be likely to forget a giant metal planet appearing in the sky and trying to eat Earth lol.
Ah but you see in DOTM when Cybertron entered the Earth’s atmosphere you can only see the honeycomb shapes but not the entire planet and since the space bridge was in the US only that entire continent could see it but South America could barely see it since you know planets are round and therefore so is Cybertron so there’s going to be a curve making it harder to see the entire planet same goes for Unicron a portal is being opened in South America meaning only that entire continent could see him but also his shadow isn’t covering the entire continent either meaning not everyone can see him
@@JAMESMANHUNT9 Optimus being on Earth in the 80s isn't a contradiction, Last Knight showed that Optimus had already been to Earth before. It's Bumblebee's landing that proved it to be a reboot. Last Knight he landed at least as early as WW 2, in the Bee movie he landed first in the 80s near Burn's team resulting in the fight with Blitzwing.
After this, I am more sad than happy, because except the Last knight, I loved the Bayverse, but well, it is what it is. So I hope at least that from now on, they will keep to that, and WONT ruin the timeline just because IRL issues ( eg. Sam Witwicki in first 3 films, but Mikayla only in 2 because of Steve Spielberg, ....) . One timeline, one story, same actors, or differnet ones, but with proper story on why the main human characters changed, etc... And yeah, thank you so much for this, because I was at the cinema for the TFRO Beasts yesterday with my brother, and despite thinking it would fit after Bumblebee and before Bayverse, we too couldnt get over the Unicron problem and so on :D
It's Obviously a Reboot For Easy Reasons: .1: Unicron In ROTB Not Being Earth .2: The Bumblebee Movie Taking Place In 1997 .3: Transformer 07 Takes Place well In 2007 .4: Terrorcons And Maximals were never Seen Or Shown In the Bayverse (Besides Those Concept Arts In TLK But Neve Made it In The Film or Rise Of Unicron)
You forgot why it’s not a reboot 1: Agent Simmons exists 2: Sector 7 exists 3: Megatron is still missing 4: Bumblebee lost his voice box 5: The 1977 Camaro still exists All Bumblebee and ROTB do is decanonize TLK with Unicron not being Earth and AOE is already removed itself from canon when the concept of the Seeds is introduced thus automatically contradicting the Allspark’s existence but the first 3 films remain perfectly intact for one big reason there’s no evidence of Unicron being Earth we don’t even know if he actually exists making it easy to slide ROTB into the continuity there’s also the time when Optimus said in the opening of ROTF “our worlds have met before” at first we thought it was The Fallen and the 7 Primes but that’s not entirely true as we witnessed that the Ark played a huge role in the Apollo Moon landing there’s also Megatron being frozen in the Hoover Dam etc etc also notice how Optimus speaks to humans in 2007 he also talks about them like if he’s known them for years and it’s rather strange that Paramount stated he’s a pre version of his 2007 self in ROTB Does that about cover it? For me, it is 100% a reboot, because Optimus mentons Bee that that girl (Form 2018 BumbleBee movie) was very kind with him, but not every human was like that, and if the Bumble Bee movie was 100% a reboot, this has to be the continuation of the reboot, not the continuation of the 2017 saga.
It's always been a prequel, the actual problem is that we have too many fans who wish for a reboot and are looking for signs of it being a reboot and then recklessly takes things out of context and twists it in their favor and runs with it. That's why there's so much confusion in the fanbase whenever they keep affirming that this is a prequel series of films.
My canon: bumblebee and RotB are a parallel alternate universe of the bayverse, and scourge is the bayverse prime who to save his Cybertron is forced to join unicron in that universe, whichleads to prime being transported to the reboot movies as since the universes are parallel the unicrons follow the original singularity plan for unicron. Prime basically becomes a horse man for unicron. maybe this will be true though i doubt it. Well this is my RotB Scourge origin. Logic: since bay verse prime has cost Cybertron its existence already and earth has consistently proven it cant be relied upon prime in his deteriorating mental condition joins unicron to protect cybertron, by giving up the matrix basically what 86 movie was doing, megatron realizing that since prime has Cybertron and unicron will destroy earth since he is earth decides to attempt to stop him using the remaining decepticons and sentinals rust canon he storms primes base, and fights him pretty me is hit by the rust canon and loses his color but due to upgrades gained from unicron his main skeletal structure survived giving him his darl colors and lanky skeletal look, prime then kills megatron. The other autobots turn on prime due to the fact that prime has basically gone insane and bumblee explicitally denouced him. Prime lashes out and kills them, but is disappointed in how quickly he killed bee and contimues to harbor an emmence hatred for bee. Prime is then sent to assist unicron in finishong off the universe and when it is destroyed except for Cybertron which allows unicron to permanently transport to the parallel universe. Prime and the terrorcons who are other horse men of unicron. The maximals are surviving cybertronians from the bay verse and were also transported due to being prisoners aboard unicron. The maximals escape and find harbor on earth. Unicron is popped out far from earth, and the deranged prime believes that to return to his cybertron which due to the fact unicron has not told prime they cannot return still hopes to go home. Prime believes that destroying this universe will allow for that transit. Unicron continues on his manipulation and destruction and the deranged prime aides him. Prime in this interpretation durng the moive discovers he cannot return amd betrays unicron but is killed during the fonal battle. Well damn this got long.
Im kinda happy that ROTB may be a part of bayverse..... but as a lover of bayverse I don't think its a good idea to connect ROTB to Bayverse. The movies will be as broken as the broken line continuity (example cybertron games grimlock and RID grimlock) but yeah I won't be sad if ROTB is a reboot. I just wish they said TF4 and TF5 both awful films are non canon, so that there won't be a problem making TF movies like the og trilogy. Nice video btw
All I can say is... Lorenzo di Bonaventura... is basically like Sony right now, making mistakes that doesn't make any sense, rather than letting the creative team doing their thing.
Havent watched the video yet, but its amazing that, at this point, people dont realize its a reboot. In The Last Knight, Unicron was Earth. In RotB, its clear that Unicron is not. There, reboot confirmed.
I say it’s both. They kept some elements from the original of the Bayverse like Megatron was trapped in ice, but still going back to G1 for the reboot.
It’s 5 years actually, but still a long time And it’s a reboot I wanted it to be a prequel of some sort, literally the ending of bumblebee solidified the fact and with the trailers we have got. It’s not hard to decipher.
I would like to point out that it would make sense for the events of ROTB to not be mentioned in Bayverse if you look at the trailers a lot of the battles take place in remote areas free of human witnesses (aside from the two main characters) as for that giant black cloud that could easily be covered as some kind of storm there’s also Unicron there’s a picture of a portal opening and he’s going through it but notice that his shadow barely covers the planet meaning not everyone can see him and also Earth’s atmosphere makes it very hard to see objects in the day light as shown in DOTM when Cybertron enters the atmosphere you can see it but not all of it just the honeycomb shapes but that’s all and not everyone on the planet saw it only the US could see it cause that’s where the Space Bridge was as for South America they probably could see it just not as much as the US
Well if the maximal are in the film then it will have something to do with time travel since there are from the future and primal is a decedent of prim also time does applies to unicron and scourge in some version he is ether bombshell, a clone of prim, or just evil prime like in last knight 🤷 and if there going with that route I’m taking a wild guess the predacons did something to screw up the time line in the show beast wars a rogue group of predacons led by megatron decedent stole a gold disc containing all the information of the past and try create a time line were the decepticons win the war
@@robertrivera2223 I did come up with a theory that the Maximals are time travelers but they’ll never actually say it they’ll just reference it by saying past and future a lot but they’ll never directly say they are from the future and went back in time and you can also throw away the whole Scourge is Bayverse Optimus in the garbage because his bio now confirms he’s very ancient unless that’s misdirection but like I said none of this stuff will probably be mentioned in the film making it easy for people to make their theories
Make since I grew up with the movies started reading the comics and watching the old show and I known not everything is going work in films but it will be cool if they went that direction
If an entire planet pulled up to earth, people would see it. No amount of clouds are gunna change that. Cybertron was also significantly smaller than Unicron and earth.
Another thing nobody uses the word chronologically if they’re rebooting a franchise that’s like saying the Star Wars Prequel trilogy is chronologically the first story but it’s a reboot the only way something like that can work is if you do some R&R like Halloween remove all the sequels but reboot the franchise with a new movie that keeps the original film perfectly intact you can’t reboot a franchise with a prequel it’s nigh impossible yes you can make your own story if you’re far back enough but the closer you get towards the original story the tighter it gets and the more you have to rely on continuity there’s a reason Star Wars can’t retcon the Sequels in canon now when it came to Legends Disney only decanonized the novels and video games but the movies remained that’s exactly what ROTB did to TLK they’re using Unicron as his own entity thus automatically removing TLK from the timeline
No it’s stupid there is no reason for bayverse prime to turn evil he has saved earth 5 times and last he saw he was his normal heroic self. Unless there was a random event that turned him evil or unicron had him under his will that would just ruin everything about his character. Also scourge has an entirely different face from Optimus.
14:40 I think that honestly it could work both ways. The executive producers definitely got cold feet. I think the film director had a good idea too. Rebooting the Transformers isn’t new. But containing continuity based on consumer and demographic is the problem. I was born 2002. The bay verse Transformers are the OG for me. (Even if I was 5 when Transformers 2007 was released) But I loved the direction they were going in and where they go from there. I can turn the other way when it comes to CGI because I love the story. Continuity is important if you want to stay within the same universe. But with the Maximals I think it’s safe to say they created a different timeline without the effort. It fits almost seamlessly into the story. The bayverse will always be my favorite. Going forward and entertaining future audiences and getting them involved is the important thing here. It’s just a story and such a good story that can take so many curves why not have the ability to have a multiverse
I think the Real Answer is that is a Prequel It’s Because it’s Takes place In the 90’s After the 20’s when the Autobots landed to Earth and How Bumblebee Meet Sam and Melaka
@@Xenosaurian do you think it's in the bayverse or something because how would it be prequel. And this isn't even connected to that. Because of the fact Unicron is not earth while he was earth in bayverse
Theorymus, at the start of the Bumblebee movie at cybertron. Soundwave was holding Megatron in his alt mod has a gun (1986 reference) thats why Optimus Prime told the autobots to retreat when Megatron, Soundwave, Shockwave pulled up.
The honest answer: It’s a reboot. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is being noncommittal until Transformers proves to be financially profitable again. If it’s not, there’s enough connection left to go back to the Bayverse. Bay’s continuity was bad anyway, so here that won’t make a difference.
Reboot with nods to other incarnations. Bayverse included... as it is, like it or not, they're part of transformers now. My bet is rotb takes place in a different universe, connected to bumblebee but not the bay films.
it feels kinda obvious that Bumblebee and ROTB are a reboot seeing as how if *supposedly* bee was on earth somewhere from 1939-1945 then it'd be a farfetched idea that bee, went to earth somewhere around early-mid 20th century, fought yahtzee's, went back to cybertron, fought a war for cybertron somewhere between 1946-1986, went back to earth in 1987, befriended earthlings, fought Both Decepticons and Terrorcons, then had all of the things happen in the bayverse

I can answer this easily. If Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts are connected to the Bayverse, then why do we have Unicron coming in Rise of the Beasts when Last Knight said he was Earth as reference to Prime?

Something that needs to be mentioned is that in the intro to the 2007 movie, optimus said that earth was "an unknown planet". Meaning he never been to earth prior to 2007.
First Class started off as a reboot
Time travel isn’t involved in this film apparently

I think a new direction doesn't have to mean erasing.

As someone who grew up with the Bayverse movies, this reboot is absolutely necessary. Towards the end, the Bayverse got REALLY messy in several aspects. And the lore itself is just all over the place
Tf1: the Cybertronian war for the Allspark
Tf2: The introduction of the 13 Primes and the Matrix
Tf3: the introduction of Sentinel Prime and the pillars
Tf4: the introduction of the Dinobots and the seed that belongs to the creators
Tf5: the introduction of Unicron, Quintessa, the staff and the guardian 12 knights that form a Cybertronian dragon
That’s all too damn much and it’s like each movie reveal tries to top the last but lacks good continuity
Hopefully this reboot establishes a more clear path and road for new lore

It seems like Paramount wanted to keep it vague so they can say it's a reboot while also saying it's not by keeping Megatron out of the picture. That way they can gain new fans into the franchise while also bringing back old Bayverse fans with that syrup of "it's a prequel".

@@callmedawg001 Dont know much about Peru so I cant comment on that, but maybe the clouds were a similar situation to that beam where only transformers can see the "sci-fi" part of it. I loved the movie although I do need to watch it again :D
(He didn't)
Edit: Alright, pretty sure it was obvious it was a reboot.
Yep. That's my thought, why I call the live-action side of Transformers the *_Movieverse_* and refer to the two timelines as the Bay-line and Knight-line *(oh hey I just created new TF Names for potential OCs lmao)*
But back on track, this is how I justify both continuities still existing.
Bay Films are in the same boat, tried to be a CU(Pre-MCU), didn't work out so they wiped the slate clean, creating a new timeline with their new '2008 Iron-Man' starting film(Bumblebee in this case)
please no no no multiverse stuff ahsdofi
The fact that this is such a serious debate is crazy. It was clear from the moment they released the second film they didnt have any sense of cohesive continuity and was always continuously confirmed with each entry. Each movie established a different time period that they first arrived and different reasons and theres always a maguffin that breaks the previous movie.
No sense of cohesive continuity ain't new for the Transformers movies.

@stanshatter3875
As for all of that stuff in 'TF 5: TLK' about Autobots and Decepticons from the prior 4 films having been on Earth in the 1940s and beforehand, it could easily be established that Edmund Burton made it all up & fabricated those related objects seen in that room in his mansion out of boredom, but due to his old age, he ended up believing that it was all true and Cogman didn't correct Edmund, because he found it amusing.
Why was it an abomination??I enjoy the movie
reasons why people say it's a reboot: completely new plotline, unicron is not earth, autobots have been on earth for almost a decade, protoforms in 2007, everyone in the movie is smaller
reasons why people say its a prequel: chronologically it would take place before 2007
yeah, thats all ive heard
😂😂😂😂 so true
Steven Capple jr said himself that unicron in this film might be defeated by sending him in the past thus keeping the bay continuity where he later becomes earth
There's a few other things like megatron not being seen because he'd be in earth's moon. But you also have issues with sector 7 that just show these 2 universes are barely even connected
Incorrect, the reason we affirm it's a prequel is because it's been repeatedly confirmed by the studio and the directors, writers, and producers in interviews and the films themselves maintain various elements that demonstrates continuity.
@@Xenosaurian Lmao Rise of the dark spark was also confirmed to be connected to the bayverse while also being commected to transformers prime

The design to me is a fusion of both modern and G1 and I like it’s more feminine facial features for arcee.

Well if lacons the capital then they definitely weren’t there since arcee said they lost the capital
@@RandomMackem0069_Official The correct quote that arcee said is "they lost contact with the capital" not lost the capital as a whole so it still could stand that the battle they are fighting in could be at Iacon, just not in the center of it, iacon is a large city, it could be fought anywhere there but then again we don't get an actual location of where the fight is so I was using that to theorizes where Megatron could be at the point in time.

honestly as a fan of the reboot idea , i agree with how crazy were they to think that they could just start a cinematic universe with so many popular characters done so horribly and killed off? like ratchet , elita one , ironhide , jazz and etc. i like the idea of a full reboot because we could finally see those characters do well , maybe and hopefully the new reboot has itself a version of barricade so that bumblebee could have a proper battle with him in the future. and my final statement the idea of them calling it a prequel is really just to make the bayverse fans happy until we get somewhere far ahead in the reboot like in the 6th movie inwards and then there is no more calling it a prequel.
Agreed, its definitely a reboot! & abt Barricade, maybe he can look something like his WFCT figure? Idk, but his design should be in the Knightverse aesthetic!

This whole debate is ridiculous. Why can’t we just accept the bayverse as beloved as it was is over? It was full of retcons and continuity mistakes that made the verse feel messy. This new timeline serves as a correction of that, yet some people just can’t catch on to that fact.
Try telling this to a bayverse fan and they'll call you a geewuner.
Honestly, i agree. I loved the bayverse, with tlk being my first ever cinematic dissapointement, and i would certainly like a better closure to the series, but what bumblebee started and what rotb is looking like so far just seems a lot better, and Im really happy with the direction they took
can't blame fans too much, the movie makers are the ones who keep people confused
dont know what you have against the bayverse but it wasn't a total mess, it was the first series ever made in a live action transformers scene, and it did great for being the first of its kind. bumblebee and rotb are reboots for a reason, to fix michael bay's messed up continuity ending, and to align cybertron and earth with different types if autobots and decepticons, like maximals and predacons
I hate Lorenzo
Unfortunately I could see them spin this being unicron in the past before he became earth like in transformers prime, but then how would you explain Scourge conferencing with him
one more thing, the designs changed due to almost a decade since bee movie, they will change again in 2007 as we know and in 2014 they update themselves to modern each time
4:32 “One irrefutable fact that almost everyone seems to agree on is that this film was terrible”
The way that was just said so professionally and matter-of-factly just had me dying 💀
The one thing that separates the debate is Unicron. In the movies before Bumblebee, Unicron was inside of Earth, where as in ROTB, Unicron was a separate entity from Earth, and he wanted to eat it.
I really hope it's part of the main movie timeline because it's funnier that way.
It is.
Is there any chance the could be going for a multiverse?
@@BasedVegetaIf it's true, then it'd definitely help clear things up, just like No Way Home putting the long term "who's the best live-action Spider-Man" debacle to rest for a while.

I'm not quite sure that's what we're getting in the movie.
Ah but you see in DOTM when Cybertron entered the Earth’s atmosphere you can only see the honeycomb shapes but not the entire planet and since the space bridge was in the US only that entire continent could see it but South America could barely see it since you know planets are round and therefore so is Cybertron so there’s going to be a curve making it harder to see the entire planet same goes for Unicron a portal is being opened in South America meaning only that entire continent could see him but also his shadow isn’t covering the entire continent either meaning not everyone can see him
Thank you because some people keep thinking this is prequel which makes zero sense as soon as i saw unicron as a planet that told us reboot

.2: The Bumblebee Movie Taking Place In 1997
.3: Transformer 07 Takes Place well In 2007
.4: Terrorcons And Maximals were never Seen Or Shown In the Bayverse (Besides Those Concept Arts In TLK But Neve Made it In The Film or Rise Of Unicron)

You forgot why it’s not a reboot
1: Agent Simmons exists
2: Sector 7 exists
3: Megatron is still missing
4: Bumblebee lost his voice box
5: The 1977 Camaro still exists
All Bumblebee and ROTB do is decanonize TLK with Unicron not being Earth and AOE is already removed itself from canon when the concept of the Seeds is introduced thus automatically contradicting the Allspark’s existence but the first 3 films remain perfectly intact for one big reason there’s no evidence of Unicron being Earth we don’t even know if he actually exists making it easy to slide ROTB into the continuity there’s also the time when Optimus said in the opening of ROTF “our worlds have met before” at first we thought it was The Fallen and the 7 Primes but that’s not entirely true as we witnessed that the Ark played a huge role in the Apollo Moon landing there’s also Megatron being frozen in the Hoover Dam etc etc also notice how Optimus speaks to humans in 2007 he also talks about them like if he’s known them for years and it’s rather strange that Paramount stated he’s a pre version of his 2007 self in ROTB

also in my opinion if you change the designs so much it would be difficult to loop it back in with the first ones so having a reboot gives the writers more creative freedom (plus some of our fav transformers aint dead no more)

And there's me thinking it was settled, due to Travis Knight's statement.
I had no idea how much conflicting information was out there!
@@Xenosaurian Didn't watch the video then?
If it is a prequel it's one which is terrible with the existing continuity.
How are you making a canon if the movie isnt even out yet?

Pov : my lore was false rip
Im kinda happy that ROTB may be a part of bayverse..... but as a lover of bayverse I don't think its a good idea to connect ROTB to Bayverse. The movies will be as broken as the broken line continuity (example cybertron games grimlock and RID grimlock) but yeah I won't be sad if ROTB is a reboot. I just wish they said TF4 and TF5 both awful films are non canon, so that there won't be a problem making TF movies like the og trilogy. Nice video btw
Transformers live action lore is bananas
Why would they worry about breaking continuity when it's already been broken?

A pre-boot a reboot and a prequel at the same time
All I can say is... Lorenzo di Bonaventura... is basically like Sony right now, making mistakes that doesn't make any sense, rather than letting the creative team doing their thing.
This whole story has more twists then the scripts of a lot of movies these days.. 😂😂
I think like movie writers were like: "I am so tired of those discussions about prequel or reboot. Let's bring Unicron so they all shut up."
Welp they made it worse should’ve set ROTB in 2023
My boi theory I also think it’s a reboot
Havent watched the video yet, but its amazing that, at this point, people dont realize its a reboot. In The Last Knight, Unicron was Earth. In RotB, its clear that Unicron is not. There, reboot confirmed.
Lorenzo probably hit his head hard, everything he says contradicts everything
Yeah
I say it’s both. They kept some elements from the original of the Bayverse like Megatron was trapped in ice, but still going back to G1 for the reboot.
It’s 5 years actually, but still a long time
And it’s a reboot
I wanted it to be a prequel of some sort, literally the ending of bumblebee solidified the fact and with the trailers we have got. It’s not hard to decipher.
it cant be a prequel since bumblebee in this version arrived on earth in 1987 but he was in world war 2 during the last night.
It’s a reboot after bumblebee and I bet it’s a good one and it’s about to get higher in the box office👍🏻
@@Xenosaurian so is it a success than bumblebee?
@@captainaustraliastudios8241 I don't know.
@@Xenosaurian let’s find out when the movie goes higher
I think this debate won’t end until the movie is out
I would like to point out that it would make sense for the events of ROTB to not be mentioned in Bayverse if you look at the trailers a lot of the battles take place in remote areas free of human witnesses (aside from the two main characters) as for that giant black cloud that could easily be covered as some kind of storm there’s also Unicron there’s a picture of a portal opening and he’s going through it but notice that his shadow barely covers the planet meaning not everyone can see him and also Earth’s atmosphere makes it very hard to see objects in the day light as shown in DOTM when Cybertron enters the atmosphere you can see it but not all of it just the honeycomb shapes but that’s all and not everyone on the planet saw it only the US could see it cause that’s where the Space Bridge was as for South America they probably could see it just not as much as the US
Well if the maximal are in the film then it will have something to do with time travel since there are from the future and primal is a decedent of prim also time does applies to unicron and scourge in some version he is ether bombshell, a clone of prim, or just evil prime like in last knight 🤷 and if there going with that route I’m taking a wild guess the predacons did something to screw up the time line in the show beast wars a rogue group of predacons led by megatron decedent stole a gold disc containing all the information of the past and try create a time line were the decepticons win the war
@@G2_Convoy you clearly have no watch DOTM because Cybertron is literally the size of Jupiter
Fans: are Bumblebee and Rise of Beasts prequels or reboots?
Lorenzo: well, yes, but actually no, but actually yes, but actually no.
Another thing nobody uses the word chronologically if they’re rebooting a franchise that’s like saying the Star Wars Prequel trilogy is chronologically the first story but it’s a reboot the only way something like that can work is if you do some R&R like Halloween remove all the sequels but reboot the franchise with a new movie that keeps the original film perfectly intact you can’t reboot a franchise with a prequel it’s nigh impossible yes you can make your own story if you’re far back enough but the closer you get towards the original story the tighter it gets and the more you have to rely on continuity there’s a reason Star Wars can’t retcon the Sequels in canon now when it came to Legends Disney only decanonized the novels and video games but the movies remained that’s exactly what ROTB did to TLK they’re using Unicron as his own entity thus automatically removing TLK from the timeline
i think time travel will be involved and thats how we get the 2007 timeline started
Swear to god I really hope the “scourge is bayverse prime” thing actually happens cus that’d be cool as hell
Plus it'd be a nice little ending to his story as a cautionary tale of tragedy.
If anything, it'll be a RiD Scourge type situation. Unicron creates a Dark Optimus Prime. After all, only a Prime can defeat a Prime

4 years.4 YEARS.Let's hope its worth it..
I mean the director literally said it takes places years after the events of bumblebee
And years before the 2007 film. It's a prequel.
I thought it was a sequel to Bumblebee
It is, Caple Jr. said so.
It is, and Bumblebee and ROTB are a confirmed prequel series.
