What I love about this series Jon, is hanging out in the Hangar with your mate. There is nothing better than sharing a passion for aeromodelling with your mates, be that at the field or working in the Man Cave.
Hi Jonathan, Enjoyed watching video from doctors office. Just in for a checkup. She should be complete once cockpit is installed. Looking forward to maiden. You and Katie stay safe.
@@thelightersideofrc hello Jonathan. I sended your F15 videos to a pilot friend from the Air Force and he is crazy about it. He want to know how much is all the F15's project value. 23 years ago I almost had the chance for a real F15 trainer ride because my cousin there had a close relations with the Israel air force.
Hi Jonathan, why not set up the flaps with the 3 way switch to dial in the accuracy of the flaps movement and then switch over to the side control. Great job, the F15 is a monster!
Hell of a lot more configurable radios compared to when I had mine in the air. At the time it was close to top of the line, an 8 channel Heathkit _analog_ radio.
@@thelightersideofrc Very true, although I never did need all 8. 1 throttle 2 rudder 3 elevator 4 ailerons 5 flaps 6 retracts (mechanical linkages for doors) If I had ever finished the B-17 I was working on with my dad I would have used the other two for bay doors and bomb drop.
No not really. There is 2 carbon tubes in the wing so it's not designed around one main wing tube. Not sure on how the structure layout works in this wing.
@@thelightersideofrc I have a crashed one at my house that I'm rebuilding I can send you pictures but the carbon tubes do not go very far into the wings. The only structural thing from wing root to wing tip is a airex spar
HI Jonathan, what a beautiful plane ! it's the "NEC PLUS ULTRA". I missed several video cause I was with my wife in Spain for holidays. I will see now the previous video. When you built a plane, you use inches or centimeters/millimeters ?
Thanks Philippe! Glad to hear that you were on vacation! Hope it was a blast! it's kind of funny here in Canada. Our country uses the Metric system but we still do so much in imperial and sometimes both. In construction we still use mostly imperial but sometime a mix so your constantly calculating. I find if i'm talking about larger measurements i'll use imperial but if i'm talking about finer measurements i'm using metric. I don't know how tall I am off hand in CM but can tell you in Ft/Inches no problem. 😂
Well the build process is now complete! Next step, THE MAIDEN VIDEO! Thanks for watching!
Everyone should have their own F-15.
HAHA. Totally agree!

Thanks Steve! Yea it was a blast having Chad over during most of the work. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Don! Hope your good and everything is all right!
@@thelightersideofrc Hi Jonathan,
Just some pre-admission testing for an outpatient procedure scheduled next month. You and Katie stay safe.
Unbelievable! I binge watched this build for the last two nights. Very nicely done! You're an inspiration to all RC builders.
WOWZERS! Thanks Dough for watching and thanks for the uplifting compliment! 😊😎
This is a true masterclass of RC building
WOW ZERS! Thanks so much!
Great looking jet. A twin F15 is always exciting. Nice job on the build. FUN FACT: The F15 is the only Fighter Jet to shoot down a satellite in space.
Thanks Sal! Thats crazy! I didn't know that!
Nice job Jonathan as expected. Looking forward to see the maiden flight video. Thank you for supporting our hobby in the manner you do.
Thanks Again Hank!
Damn that thing is big absolutely love it
Thanks 😊
That’s a serious looking Jet. Could not believe how much weight you had to add, crazy. Love those scales 👍🏻
Thanks 😊. Yea we were a bit shocked as well but it is what was needed. Not uncommon on these large scale jets.
@@thelightersideofrc well I hope one day I will have the same issue 👍🏻. Can those CG scales work on small planes ?
Oh yea! Work great on everything. The key with using it is the measurements! Garbage in. Garbage out.
@@thelightersideofrc I will have to look out for some. Love gadgets me 🤓
Jonathan that’s a great tip about the CG I always struggle in getting that accurate thanks so much best regards
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
Can't wait for the maiden !
Coming soon!😎
Great job Jon, looks good and look forward to the maiden 👍
Thanks Kelly!
A big one, for sure😳…looking forward to your maiden 👍cheers from Munich 🍺
You and me both! Thanks for watching!
Great videos. I did not miss anything. Expecting first flight.
This plane is amazing and beautiful.
I enjoy your videos
Thanks Michael! And thanks for watching the build.

Probably will for the maiden as the owners switch configuration is not what I’m used too and he isn’t using the normal flap switch.
Hell of a lot more configurable radios compared to when I had mine in the air. At the time it was close to top of the line, an 8 channel Heathkit _analog_ radio.
Yea it's pretty amazing what can be done with today's radios! Sure make the hobby easier in some aspects.

Have you ever tried using Tire sticky weights
Yea. Very similar to what we get from the model store.
So that cardboard thing you poked a hole in is the main spar . The main spar in that wing in airex

Still need to get those filters more vertical or he might end up landing with a lot of fuel when he gets a flame out
Not a problem horizontal. Full throttle run up clears all the bubbles.
do the maiden in a full blu sky because the gray color is hard to see, regards from south italy
HAHA. Yea no kidding!
What servos are you using?
In this plane, the owner supplied Blue Bird servos.
Where to buy the weight and balance calculater ? Please
There are a few locations to get it from. Where are you located?
Thanks for the reply I live in Taiwan
If channels 13&14 don't do anything why are they "built" into the receiver? Did I miss something. Seems like false advertising on Spektrums part.
It's just a DX18 Thing. if your using a DX20 then they work.
Beautiful..but don't like the cockpit finnish.
An Aftermarket cockpit was made but RCCUSTOM3DPrinting
