Speed brake: $165.00. Weathering: $595.00. Total cost for JUST the airframe/gear etc as seen: $13700. Recommended minimum of 2x 40lb turbines, so let's stay safe and go with 2x 48.5lb thrust. So 2x 4299.00: $8598.00 Servos (2x $179 for elevators), and 7x 129.00 for the rest.: $1261.00 I won't go into the crazy amount of gear needed for the radio and turbines but let's stay safe and say $3000 Subtotal is going to run you AROUND $27 THOUSAND dollars.
I have a friend who flies expensive turbine powered model jets. On a flight he messed up and did extensive damage, he told me he was not worried, he said he made enough money last month on the stock market to pay for the model. Nice.
These parts are looking so great! The paintjob, the weathering, every little detail of this fuselage! I really never have seen such a huge jet! This is definitely NO clickbait tiltle. PS. The box can be reused! 😀 You can build yourself a nice little mobile home from it! 😀
@08:09 I don't fly R/C models but this video popped up on my feed. I can help with the F-15 specific details. 87-189 is from the 334th based at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina. SJ is an F-15E B course base for pilots new to the F-15E. I've never been stationed at SJ, F-15C guys went to Tyndall AFB for our B course. The F-15C and F-15E are very different and have very little mission commonality, so different B schools. Anyway the livery or paintjob you have is from the late 20-teens, 2017 or 2018, it's a WWII heritage scheme, and it looks pretty spot on. The tail-number font is wrong and the 'mudhen' grey isn't quite dark enough for an E-model, but that is all that jumped out to me detail wise so far.
Hey Based. I was a crew chief. Started at Luke working on A models back in 1982. Yes, I am ancient. I ended up working on all the models except B models. Never crewed one of them. I was active duty from 1981 to 2002. Retired and then went into civil service at Robins on F-15 depot maintenance and my final job was at the boneyard at Davis-Monthan. It was a bittersweet job. I was a Quality Assurance inspector and there were airplanes there I had crewed as a young airman.
I love this channel. I get to see rich people pay obscene amounts of money for an RC jet, then pay another big bill for someone else to put the plane together for them. Got to love it.
Love this jet. Worked in the 15 in the military in Alaska 10:30 we would have to wash these jets and they couldn't be signed off till those steaks were gone. Mine you it was a grease like consistency and it would come out of many places, especially where things moved you would get anti-sieze 23:57 that is either the d or e model. B/d/e are two seaters while a/c are single seaters. I'm inclined to say d model 25:50 No safety pins? 28:08 intakes don't pivot that's interesting
It's a great model that SM made! Cool to hear first hand experience! Thanks for sharing! Yea pivoting intakes are slick but adds more complexity for just looks. There is one fellow on FB adding the pivot intakes.
That has to be the coolest scheme for an American F-15. It will definitely turn heads on the flightline and when flying by. Incredible what Skymaster is turning out now.
Im astounded how cheap and nice they can build these, 6500 base price for a basic painted finish and with the detailed nozzles, and all that detail, plus it will be 8.5ft wide and 12.8ft long! Right at 1/5th scale. Fully specced ARF at 13k aint bad either
Holy Crap that's Huge!!! Love it, and can't wait to see it fly. Beautiful paint scheme too. My only gripe (and I have the same gripe no matter the model or the scale) is the over-emphasis of panel lines. I shake my head and ask why? @29:40 where you are standing with the model and where the cameraman is, is about 100 or so "scaled" feet. I mean scale, relative to the scale of the model. Go stand an actual 100 feet from a real F-15 and see if you see those panel lines that prominent. They're not. Anyway- Super cool model and couldn't be with a better person to put it together and fly! HAve fun with it!!!
Makes me miss my spitfire custom built with a miniaturised v12 engine also scaled down to the original engine. Sadly wrecked in 2012. Only the engine survived and no spares available. Was a gift and had loads of fun. Also had 3 types of ammo belts from daisy, paintball and yes very small caliber rounds. Max ammo capacity for each was 50 rounds due to weight as well as 5 gallon drop tank. She may be lost but not forgotten. Engine was later scrapped.
@thelightersideofrc it's sad, but I had fun. When I still had the engine, I struggled for 4 years to get a new frame, wing ribs, etc, as it was made from lightweight aluminum, and unfortunately, the designs were lost and company probably closed down. I shall always be watching these videos on your channel as I really enjoy it. Keep it up.
I want to see an F35 build in that scale. My son is a Tech Sargent in the Air Force, stationed at Luke AFB, and a senior crew chief for their new F35 squadron replacing their F16’s. Incredible looking F15, and can’t wait to see it in the air 😊😊🛫
Great Video! Why do you take a different servo for nose wheel? The MKS 599 on all rudders has nearly the same specs than the 9930 you planned for the nose (same torque of ~40kg, similar speed, same size). Why is the 9930 better for nose wheel and the 599 better for the rudders? Thanks for your videos, they are a great inspiration!
Generally we would use a MKS 1220 HV for the nose but on these larger aircraft we will up spec it so the 9930 is a good option. Could use a 599 as well but not needed. 599 will be used everywhere else.
Ok, thanks for the information! ....although flying only (larger) EDF and propeller planes, your videos are full of usefull information for me! And nevertheless interesting for anybody interested in rc aircraft stuff 👍😀

The landing gear is very well done. Sure, almost 4K is a lot, but they are very scale. It looks like they took a shrink-ray to the real struts.
Plus the expensive final sign-off certificate of the engineer cat

Another Bottomless Budget build
Everyone has to have a hobby and it's his money to spend. Beautiful jet regardless of the cost and the purchaser can certainly fly this.

Every time you get one of those Skymaster1:5 scale jets in to build I can't help but daydream a bit about other monster scale aircraft.
They are pretty next level for sure!
This one is just a little bit bigger than mine 😂 gonna need a bigger trailer for this one.

Cha Ching!
I just need my van running to go pick one up.

This one will have twin XICOY 240's
Lots of talk , little action . In thirty-eight minutes you could have assembled this model and shown how it flies . 😎

Super cool! Where are you based?
Alberta Canada
You could put a cat or chihuahua in the cockpit. It is absolutely huge.

How long was the dog sliding into the video before i noticed!

What kind of Spitfire is it on 21:04 ? Thank you and nice Plane =)
Used plane find. Not sure who the manufacture is. Getting a new Engine. Nitro out, gasser in!
..just needs a JM Fuel Can..LOL!

What are UATs
Air traps designed to eliminate air going to the engine.
Already with all its accessories the investment of this plane will be approximately $20,000.00 dollars?
More I belive.
I feel the paint is overdone with the rivets. While it might work on a P51 You don't see the rivets like this on a real F15.
👍😊
Is there any company that builds the CURTISS SB2C HELLDIVER world war ll plane kit?
Sorry not sure on that one.
These are not "tail cones", they are the engine exhaust nozzles. A tail cone is something else entirely (and the Eagle doesn't have one)...
