- If you are planning a getaway to Zakynthos you will be happy to know that sighting a shark is incredibly rare. And even if there were any, they would be sighted far off the coast in popular fishing areas

I spent this june till august in zakyntos.doing kayaking 1-2km from the beach of laganas bay and tsilv. I had a feeling sharks could be here as i saw many fish groups. Sea turtles and stingrays .all can be pray . Lucky or unlucky i have see shark even though i spent 4-5 hours aday at the sea

Yes tail movement tells all.. the Ionian west coast of Greece connects with the Adriatic and Italy and the Croatian coast have shown a lot of sightings over the years.

i happen to be a internet zoologist and i can confirm that this specied is called "a big one". Thats the scientifically correct terminology - unless you want to be explicit and definitive in terms ob sub-species ... in which case you need to call it "a fuckin big one"

Interesting. I would say thats a Mako, the head, the way it swims. I didn't think its a Great White.

This was exactly my thoughts until I saw the other video released where it looks a lot slimmer.. juve white or mako, swaying toward the mako after seeing more footage..

I think it looks like a mako shark which have been known to attack people, probably misidentification on its part for other prey , probably the fastest shark in the sea ,that is one hell of a mako ,the largest I have ever seen ! !
Some kind of lamnid, for sure--Correction, I saw another version of this vid: the tailfins are almost equal and those caudal penduncle is VERY prominent. I would say it's a Mako, too, but it's so 'pale'. Most of the time when I see Makos they're color is so dark it's almost 'cobalt' blue.
Mako have attacked and killed people. No mistake. Multiple times
@@Meat12.5 It sure has the capability! If it can tangle with billfish, run down tuna and decapitate adult sea lions, there's darned few things a Mako can't handle==though it's being a normally open ocean shark seems to limit the areas it can interact with humans.

The fisherman who took this video stated that the shark was calm, not aggressive at all, he didn't notice the boat - he just swam with it for over an hour. The shark waited for an hour to see if he would get some food from the boat and still he didn't notice her :-)
A hunter is also calm until he has something to shoot at :-)

Could also be a White Shark. It’s known that there is a population of them in the Ionian Sea. Smaller White Sharks from above are easy to mistaken as an Mako

Alot of British people live in Greece, especially around Zakynthos and Crete, major British tourist spots.
Alot of Greeks learn English in the UK or usually from British teachers aswell so can speak with a very British sounding accent.

doing is "Dangling Food” over the top of class “A” predators! ! ! OH, their there, you just can’t see them until its to late! ! !

That’s a sperm whale or a dolphin.
That is definitely NOT a dolphin or whale of any species. Its tail is perpendicular to the surface...that is a shark, though I have no idea what kind.

They're everywhere in the Mediterranean. We filmed a huge Mako where I live in the Balearics a few year ago
