For those who think I'm just cocky after having a good match here's my "grind" history:
Stock Hull
1st game: 22k dmg (Got deleted bow on by BB)
2nd game: 89k dmg (Kraken 5 kills)
Hull B
3rd game: 56k dmg (Engine broken while repair is on cooldown)
4th game: 148k dmg (High Caliber)
5th game: 47k dmg (Competent team)
6th game: 89k dmg (Confederate 4 kills)
7th game: 112k dmg (Confederate 4 kills)
8th game: 127k dmg (Witherer, High Caliber)
9th game: 28k dmg (Played too passive)
10th game: 54k dmg (Confederate 3 kills, bow on citadelled by Königsberg AP)
All are T7 matchmaking
All played with a 14 point captain with IFHE, Demo Expert, AFT and AR.
Just like other US light cruisers, the Omaha is so much fun to play and so powerful except you get citadelled at any angle :3
P.S. Some clips have black borders on the edges because stupid Shadowplay recorded those battles as 1920x1000 like wtf

one advice from ScottishKoala that really helped me up my Omaha game:
"Omaha is a ship that does best when the enemy has someone else than you to shoot at."
I've gone from barely dealing 24k damage to regularly clocking almost 40k. The trick is to let your teammates start engagements first, and drop speed to 3/4 (while also changing course, ideally) when a salvo leaves the enemy's gunbarrels. C hull can be good if you're a player that's brave (and good) enough to leave your teammates behind and skirmish on your own, but otherwise you'll stick with your teammates anyway so more AA isnt that useful.
When you're playing this ship, accept that the coward playstyle fits this ship the best. Then rain down fire on every enemy ship because your turret configuration means no matter which angle you're facing, you have 7 guns ready to fire at any direction, and can outrun most ships with the exception of destroyers, which you'll be eating for breakfast because you have planes, hydro, and did I mention fast-firing guns?.

Hug island, and shoot from there. Always keep your ship in motion so you are always ready to bolt if somebody spot you and their gun are aiming at you. ( Incoming fire will be a great help I think)
In case you are in open water, stay, with, friend, never go anywhere alone without any back up. And if you are being engage in open sea, only bring full 4 turrets to bear if your target is looking another way, otherwise 2 turrets only. ;)

This is a huge plus for Omaha.
You. can. literally. fire. your. guns. at. any. angles.
and overmore 2-ish seconds ruddershift time, so wasd hacks like no tomorrow, while still keeping your guns firing.
I love the Omaha, she's my shipfu. I love shelling enemies and kill them at long range, or intimidate them to death. With your huge manuever you can literally drew fire from your allies without getting hit.
She's like a reverse Atlanta, but without camping island, go out there and distract the enemies.

Omaha: A really good and nice ship that can deal a lot of damage if you know how to play it.
Russian ship: Sets fire to every ship on every salvo if using vodka shells.
Btw the 6 min planes aren’t old. They are on most IJN cruisers including Zao, mogami, ibuki, myoko and aoba.

Jolly Wong I mean, it handles and feels way better than overpensacola. But the sudden death chance is so huge.
RN cruisers have higher chance of sudden death. Short gun range doesn't help much either when the enemy can easily outrange you.
When I first got the then-T6 Cleveland, I felt it was downgrade from the Omaha.

I've uninstalled WoWs about a year ago (maybe a few months less) if I'm not mistaken...
so, has the game imrpoved since then? Last time I played the grind from T6 to T7 (or was it 7 to 8?) was ridiculously huge compared to one tier before that. Like twice as much. And what about PvE?
Despair I don't see any problems about grinding since I started playing 3 years ago. The only problem I can see if the lack of competent Tier 9 ships which performs as a roadblock to T10. This is understandable from WG's viewpoint to slow players' progress down but this still sucks

I would actually repeat the USN cruiser line just to play the Omaha again. Good ship 10/10.
At beta she was OP, conveniently bow/aft tank anything that is not BB, and still could bounce BB shell when angled. I got 197K dmg with Omaha when she was OP.

Hello, I am writing this comment, because I don't know what to do. I have started playing World of Warships after a pretty long break and my best ship (highest rank) is the Omaha. But when I play Omaha I really suck. After at least 15 Matches that I have played it is still the same thing. First I drive to a cap with the other ships and wait there for the enemy. When the enemy appears I start shooting and do if im lucky 20k Damage. After that this side gets flanked and because I am a Ohama I die maybe 2 minutes after that or one BB gets a lucky shot at me and dos 10k even if I'm angeled. Any tips or things that I'm doing wrong?
Not really, playing the Omaha is half skill half luck, you need to just stay at your maximum gun range to minimise your chance of getting shot, but you should still hit your shots to do damage

This video kinda made me grind trough the omaha i also had some of those 100k dmg battles somehow got both the dallas and pensacola in barely a week and i didnt play that much

Not only in games but in IRL too: when russians got some of M3 Lees during WWII they called it "БМ7" and "ВГ7" which means "братская могила на семерых" ("mass grave for seven") and "верная гибель семерых" ("sure death of seven").
Murmansk with 8km torps is the best version of the Omaha. You do lose range on the guns but it's a better balanced ship.
Don't have that so I can't give it a try :pBut the Omaha is infamous for being bad so I thought I would give it a try :p

I first started playing War Thunder at patch 1.27 (that's 6 years ago), I used to be sick with fighters and attackers but I was busy and I stopped playing. I tried it out again last month and I got completely deleted in any planes (Spitfire MkV, Fw 190 A5/U2, Bf 109 G-6. etc). Did something happened to the game mechanics that my wing just simply fell off with one hit ? I really wanna know since Fw 190 shouldn't be shot down that easily back in the days.... I got frustrated so I uninstalled it now :p
Jolly Wong It depends on what gamemode you played (Arcade, Realistic or Simulator). Alot, I mean ALOT has changed for the past 6 years, especially the new tanks and the game engine. Maybe you got killed by the buffed cannons, but they seem to have been changed like back in the day (maybe not 6 years back but well xD). You can of course watch other people play on youtube and figure out what’s different from your playstyle and learn from that just like I do w/ every new game I play. To further help you, I would need more info. Gimme the Sekrit Dokumints

Yeah most Omaha players here can barely survive half of the match. Interestingly I score citadel hits on Omaha more likely than on any other cruisers (Kirov is the 2nd easiest).

I dont get why people go broadside on omahas it has amazing gun and torpedo angles like phoenix and better arcs because its guns are 6in/53.

how to play as seattle very simple like clevland but u hide more often and stay at your max range then fire your freedom shells and burn every enemy that u can (khaba will citadel you with ez) :D

I feel like I’m about to purged like a heretic but, in WoW blitz I got up to Omaha and I was confused on how to play. I just had to be AA ship for CV and spam HE at ships that busy fighting others ships. It worked and now I’m on PepsiCola. If you want to play my IGN is IneedAdifferentName

How do you have colored tracers?
With mods, I'm using the Butterkeks tracers so HE is bright red and AP is bright blue, I find it easier to see during battle
