Well done!

Did you have a story in mind when you wrote these lyrics?
I too am a dumb
Care to explain?
xD
Okay, I have to ask, why are some of you guys whining that Oliver isn't used? Steam uses Oliver plenty, I like that he's using an UTAU and other Vocaloids. I don't think that Oliver's soft and childlike voice would suit this song either, it needs these powerful vocals to get the message across, and Steam knew that. So please stop getting upset that he's not been used and appreciate this work of art!
That Weird Geek Yeah, they do
Isobel W we are not upset 😑😑😄😄 We are just looking for his covers we know that he has songs released last on December😁😑😊👌👌
Mitsuki Shen I'm glad you think that way, I wish that more of you remembered that you got a lot of songs using Oliver :)
Yea that's true😂😂👌👌😊 haha....
I have songs that is with oliver, fukase,Len,maika and many more vocaloids..😂😊😊😁😁😄😄
This song gave me a lot of vibes, but the main concept I was picking up on was how the woman feels like her and her lover are now only shadows of themselves and the love they used to have. Looking back at how good things once were, and how damaged and perverse things are now, the woman lives in sorrow, mourning the loss of their love and true selves. She resolves to love him from afar - eliminating the present monster he is from her life and cherishing the memories of the past.
Pain and suffering can make us into machines, emotionless and cruel, until the day we suddenly see through the lies we tell ourselves.
Wow, well thought!
CBA I will accept this explanation.
Interesting interpretation!
Thats deep....
I was a kid when I first found this video and I didn’t understand the lyrics. I’m 15 now and still don’t fully understand the lyrics. I think I’m just over thinking some of the details in the video and completely ignoring the message in the lyrics. And seeing the girl I was like “who is she? what happened to her. Did she turn into the robot?” And it all kinda confused me.
I love the use of sonata. Her voice fits this song much better than Oliver would. Reason being is that Steam uses Oliver(who had a very sweet and childish voice) to put an element of childish innocence in the songs which I personally think makes it all the more terrifying, a thin layer of innocence that glosses over the true and horrifying meaning. Having that type of a voice in this song would not work, as it needs a slightly more mature sound to it, rather than a childish and sweet sound. That's why Oliver wasn't used. And why do you want to complain? Oliver is used in plenty of Steam's songs, I think it's nice to have something fresh and new. Great job Steam!
It looks like the "finally rest" part has multiple meaning... Literally.
What is it?

thats how good it is
Yep. Same ;3
Im probs wrong, but i feel like I noticed the stages of grief in there, is this a metaphor for a break up? I mean, I definitely turned into a rusty robot that plotted murder in my break up, lol
Revenge of the yanderes:
Selfish Loves Again
But true love reigns supreme (sometimes)

after listening to this several times, here's my interpretation: Sonata is a woman in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend/husband(?), and she fights with her inner demons about whether or not she truly loves him, and whether or not to stay for her safety. To me, it seems like at one point Sonata just snaps and finally kills him because she can't handle the pain anymore. But that's just how I view it lol
"A smile that brings an end to all things good and pure"
My friend sent me the link to this i was just like
Help
one year later and u already forgot that :)
well, you are the local edge lord sooo
You need to use Sonata more often, she has a more ' steampunk ' vibe to her voice!
I think this song is about the singer going through an abusive relationship. The singer- who I'll refer to as Sonata- is going through phases of her relationship where she yearns to get out of the relationship- where she yearns to kill her abuser. This is her cold, calculated side- the side that buried her emotions and wishes, above anything else, to kill him. To get out. To *leave*.
Then there is her human side. The side that stays in the relationship, the side that wants to believe that things will get better. The lines, "Wipe your face/ Fix your hair/ Do not let him see that/ You're a fucking disgrace" is internalising her feelings about the situation she seems to find herself in. Maybe if I act as though everything is okay, if I try to appease to what he wants, then things will get better. Things will surely get better.
But that doesn't happen. It becomes too much for Sonata to handle. The part of her that wants to kill him grows until, one day, she does it. She gets rid of him once and for all, and for her, that's the best feeling in the world. She is finally standing up for herself and making him feel the pain she felt in their relationship. Sonata could have also took the less violent route and just walked out of the relationship once and for all. This could be supported by the line, "So please stop and/ Love him from far/ Let your soul finally rest." She is finally getting out of this toxic relationship. She is finally free.
Hmm seems like someone who has trouble feeling human and thinks they're a monster so they keep their distance. It's what I interpreted. I love this song though it's oddly really nice.
ME
God, this is amazing! And I seriously LOVE Sonata's voicebank! This is my first time hearing her, and already, I love her!
i love her to
So the vibe I got from this was a literal forgotten Vocaoid-
You know, how the hype that tends to build up for a new Vocaloid when it comes out, everyone loves it, a lot of people buy it, make songs with it. Some are lucky to stay in fame, but a lot of them only last a *literal few minutes* before everyone just forgets they even existed, thus, the unwanted Vocaloid is left untouched, no more songs come out with it, it is left there to rust as people return their attention to Hatsune Miku again-
-I love Miku btw so don't start that stupid war here-
I'm probably 100% wrong here but this is what I got-
I feel like she was trying to somehow become relevant again, by force because she was that desperate, but by the end, she ends up just accepting that there is absolutely nothing she can do about this, and that she is just a forgotten voice bank, which, in theory, is death to a Vocaloid.
The love may refer to the often portrayed affection Vocaloids have toward their "masters"(the people who make songs for them).
Omg y’all are reading too much into it. What I got from it was that it was through the mind and thoughts of a woman, who recently had broken up with her boyfriend. Although he broke up with her due to her toxic behavior, she still couldn’t seem to let him go and still wants to peruse him. The robot represents her urges and thoughts of wanting to take him back whether he’s willing to or not, and the girl represents who she truly is. She remembers to calm herself, and acknowledges her abusive nature. In the end, though, she finally convinced herself to let go, and move on. She realizes her attitude isn’t okay, and how she needs to change her ways and leave him alone. It’s a song about fighting against bad thoughts,, a song a bout changing your ways. A song about becoming the person you really are, a good person. And to me, who has gone through the exact same thing would know and relate to.. this song means a lot. They always say realizing your abusive behavior is the biggest step into changing your ways, and THAT, my friends, is what this song is about.
_jesus_
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Accurate
I was searching for this comment lol
Es una buena manera de verlo, aunque le quitaste lo divertido.
So it's about a stalker that has messed up dreams about killing her love?
I think.... steampianist songs are tough to interpret
I think its a metaphor for break up, including the stages of grief, if you've ever been dumped, you pobably sympathize well with the murder-bot.
Fun fact! I was with Tsus when writing the lyrics. We actually had like no clue what we were doing and had no idea if the song made any sense. The more you know!
Its probably a song about rust : ^)
Honestly I think that's what makes it so unique and beautiful
i just took it literally (because that was the coolest interpretation)
Maybe this is representing how a child with depression starts feeling more and more like a robot every day.
When I heard Sonata sing the line
"SO EAT HER HEART", for the first time, I was genuinely scared for a bit. Good job.
Steampianist never ceases to amaze me. I could listen to this forever.
I don't know, but I'm getting the 'lost self' vibe here.
I absolutely love this song I cannot-
I'm getting major Painwheel vibes from Skullgirls and I love it so damn much!! You did awesome with this song!
I’d love to see some type of continuation for this song, like another song with the same or similar style to this
I'll put the lyrics here so it's easier to sing along :D for me it's easier tho
A broken robot
A fading memory
Bolts rusted tightly
Gears no longer turn
A fragile program
A coding rewritten
A kindred spirit
A soul that still burns
A knife that sharpens
To cut all red strings
A smile that sharply brings an end
To all things good and pure
Iron dripping
Seductive allure
But no, wait, stop
Take a breath
Remember
You are flesh
Metal creaks
Buttons pressed
Screaming voice
Wearing white dress
SO EAT HER HEART
Gears buzzing
Steam breathing
Reflective surface peeling
Oil leaking
Blood seeping
Metal is rusting
A knife so dull that
It heals all pain brings
A body littered on the floor
Leaking red things
Gross and vile
Regurgitate all the inky bile
And feel free to
Wipe your face
Fix your hair
Do not let him see
You're a fucking disgrace
So stop and
Let him know
How you feel true
Emotions burn slowly through
And though it hurts
Show him you're his
Take hold of his heart
Tear it apart
Love him now
Like she did
Like he did
Like they did
Like you will
Like you are
Never let him leave your side
Hold him tight
Hold him close
Watch him squirm
Scream in need
Break his bones
Let him feel your pain and die
Love him now
Like she did
Like he did
Like they did
Like you will
Like you are
Never let him leave your side
Hold him tight
Hold him close
Watch him squirm
Scream in need
Break his bones
Let him feel your pain and die
He's not yours
You're not you
So please stop, and love him from far
Let your soul finally rest
THIS WAS FANTASTIC
the instrumental is so cool and the guitar sounds AMAZING. you tuned sonata really well even though her voice is pretty damn different from the vocaloids you usually use. the "SO EAT HER HEART" and the vocal distortion at the very end are my favorite parts. love this so much.
The tuning is A+, holy hell
This whole thing just seems like a condensed healing process. The singer goes from resigned, to angry, to depressed, to finally accepting and resolved to find peace at the end.
This is the best Sonata song I've heard so far. The music and tuning showcases the different ways she can be used. Not to mention the PV it's self is a beautiful work of art. Saying "good job" would be enough of a compliment.
God why Steampianist I came here to get chills not waterfalls from my vision spheres
This reminds me of the emo stuff I used to listen to in sixth grade... I love it
It's 2 am, here I am Steam
2:05 Why i'm scared of robots half the time
Literally could not believe that it was a voice synthesiser first time I listened
I LOVE THIS FUCKING SOONNGGGGGG LETS GOOOOO DUDEEEEE
Different but I love it , I thought an actual person was singing at first lol.
Same, dude
I LOVE THE ART Steampianist
Coleman The Videogame i agree
Such haunting vocals!!! Such unique instramental!!! Such genius creators. Well done my friends.
*shook*
that is what I said too.. XD

1000000/10 BEST VIDEO
Sonata
Her voice sounds like a mix between Sweet Ann and Kiyuune Aiko's. I'm not saying she sounds unoriginal or anything. Her voice is really great! I actually thought it was a human singing since you rarely ever feature UTAU in your music.
Also this has to be the most badass Steampianist song ever. In fact it's more than badass. This is freaking EPIC.
AAAAAAAAH SONATA SOUNDS SO GOOD
"rip out his heart"
"please stop"

Instructions unclear. Hand stuck in waffle iron.
It's a bit different but I loved it
Yet after this 6 years, this pain of the centient perpetual lover hit hard!
Love this
I come back often to just listen to how well made this song is
Wow.... amazing
I love Sonata's voice. It sounds more like real human.
OMG Sonata is tuned so beautifully~ great work as always! Also Gumi's backing vocals compliment Sonata's voice!
This song came out at the perfect time!! I’m going through tough times at the moment and this song really helps me remind myself that,,, my man is not my property.
I feel like this song is about a girl that has been in an abusive relationship and is trying to convince herself she is fine, but on the inside she wants to make him suffer just like she did
Looks like I have a back log to start going over. This is fantastic
first of all, I freaking LOVE this! it was done amazingly. And second I kinda feel like this song may be about an ex not wanting to let go so they hold onto the memory making the pain of the end worse. But im not sure and I dont really want to take the mystery away. But again this is just so cool!
ive heard this so many times but "so eat her heart" sends shivers every single time, so well made
IMO Steam makes best creepy music, Tsus makes best creepy lyrics, and morb does best creepy visuals
Sana - Yeah Steam is definitely the best English horror producer
I love everything about this, the music, story and art. I've been a fan for years and you just keep on giving, until I looked up Sonata I thought it was human vocals
“So eat her heart” and “Let him feel your pain and die...” Fell in love since the starting lyrics but these particular lines are what caught me. I think most of the song describes me feels. LOVE IT~!!!!
Lulz ^u^
instrumental download soon? i'd love to see covers of this ~
"So eat her heart" part, makes me love so much this song
For me, this song is about having an ego enough to show them that you are tough, but deep inside, you're just a piece of flesh hiding in the shells of the pride. But then she changed at the last part ("so love him now, like she did, like he did, like they did...) she then decided to unmask herself and show the real her. ("Never let him leave by your side, hold him tight, hold him close, watch him squirm, scream in need, break his bones, let him feel your pain") showing that she is still thankful for the times her ego helped her, but she wasnt that happy of what she is, so she decided to break it down. This explains the ending..
the instrumental sounds like something from the binding of isaac rebirth :0
Dark as usual. Keep it up
That guitar near the end is just, so so good, keep up the amazing work!!!!
My favorite lyric is
“You’re a fucking disgrace”
I'm still waiting for the instrumental for this
Couldn't stop listening the song, it quite awhile now searching good type of song like this..
Anyway great work!
Wow, deep. I get really happy when YOU upload new stuff. Keep up the good work!
I like how normally this guys songs sound more Steampunk but this one sounds more Gothic which is something I love just as much as Steampunk they go very well together too sometimes.
A knife that sharpens
to cut all red strings
A smile that sharply brings an end to all things good and pure
Iron Dripping
Seductive allure
Idk why but this all sounds so awesome.
"So eat her heart!"
This song's message/story and Sonata's voice is amazing in this song.
All things good and puRRRRRe
IRRRRRon dripping
Seductive alluRRRRRe
The last part always gets to me damn it
Ok, so my theory about this is that she has a lot of self esteem issues and feels the need to hurt the people she gets into relationships with to bring them down to her level, but with her current relationship she has realised that she's ruining both their lives, so she decides to let him go and be lonely and miserable all by herself
This might be one of my most favourite songs ever
OMG I can't believe I haven't heard this before. It is a great song! I liked the lyrics very much, too!
holy shit this is incredible!!!
The tuning is so superb
OMG OMG I was still reeling from Ugly Fuel and waiting for the high that song sent me into to die down a bit and THEN THIS came out! I am officially dying of happiness now
This is a BOP
Love the arrangement! I love Oliver so much. But new things are great too. I loved this and look forward to your next work!
