I'm just still confused on how to properly cite a sentence used as supportive evidence I know that it starts with , "put cited sentence here" but how do I go about citing the sentence from the used article after inputting the cited sentence?

When writing an essay, I also think you need to find an opposite side of the things you’re talking about - evidence that doesn’t support your thoughts - to broaden the view on the subject. Bring some nuance to the whole thing. 😇

I love this type of content. Personally, I get more out of them than from a book haul. Book hauls are quite annoying. I'd rather listen to a single book recommendation/honest review than watch a book haul. Or a video about essay writing for that matter :). It's the course I loved the most in college. Knowledge of how to write an essay is always useful in life. Keep up the good work!

Ariel, I hate writing essays. Id rather do almost anything else than write an essay. With that being said, I've really enjoyed this series. The essay layout and paraprah layout really helped me with my first college essay since 2011. (I've recently gone back to school for my bachelors.) I would love to see more of these videos. Maybe what sources you use to help write good essays and to help people like me learn about writing. Also discussion on formatting like APA (I have no clue what APA is but I'm learning) I've always used MLA. I don't really know what the answer is to the viewer question but I'm enjoying these and hope they continue in some form.

Cite every time you use a quotation (even if you have already cited the same book) so that anyone reading your essay can look up the quotation! You don't need to cite the book if you're just explaining the plot or discussing the story, only when you are using a quotation from the book. :)

I've been working on a group essay for for one of the required classes for my major (sociology) and it's been really bothering me that none of the people that are in my group either cite properly or interpret the research that they find. Like they just dump random quotes from their research with no pretext and then give it no context. I feel like it may be overly passive aggressive of me to send them your video series, but yes this is very useful and very easy to digest all of the information

This may be very uhhh like open minded I guess but if you watch this video again and think about what I’m about to say finding your purpose is literally summed up in this one video. Okay, so I haven’t found my purpose yet nor the job I want but I just had a weird thought.
She talks about how we have to find evidence from other people’s ideas and mix it in your idea. In a real life example this helps you find your own motivation and what you love. This won’t be the easiest thing but getting out of your bubble and exploring and working new jobs, talking to people who love there job and getting to know what makes them love it will help u gather information. Now after years of exploring, your mind will start to develop things you hate and love and then things will just click.
Then she talks about backing up our point. If what u find is interesting but it doesn’t fit u don’t rush it (drop it in randomly) and don’t go for that random point with just assuming it’s the one. Test out all your choices and find the things you do take interest in and keep it in mind for your dream job.
After she talks about introducing relevant evidence. Explain why your evidence is important and never assume anything and find out why the evidence is important. In a real life situation I’m trying to say is to think about why you love this job or what your purpose was in the beginning. Remember why this is for you and if it isn’t then adjust and change your thesis statement/ life decisions just a tad bit.
Lastly the citation part is basically what you become. If you are happy and if you are at least in a better place then you definitely made the right step forward.
Btw this is just a huge rant and it just popped in my mind. It might and probably will not make sense but if this is at all any help, your welcome.
