Im doing a High lift and trying to figure out what springs to use. I currently have 0.225 Red that are 32" long. Door is a Wayne Dalton 8700 15x7 vinyl insulated and weights 200lbs, it will go straight up with only one section on the horizontal when open.

you gotta cable the door with vise grips ...one scale ...one person ..no problem

Is there a standard chart for door weights or do the different styles in hinges and such make the difference where you have to weigh

Unfortunately, every door is different. Between the different styles, materials, and sizes, the weights very greatly.

Hi there i believe both of my garage springs are wrong for my door. My garage door is a 16'x8' and the springs are not broken, so how do i measure the weight ?

Hi Kyle, My two Garage door torsion springs broke at the same time. then I disengaged the angle bar from glider and suddenly the door drop. When I pick it up or pull up the door, I can't raise it even by inch. I feel it the door is so heavy or not moving at all. Please explain to if it is normal. thanks

yes, with the springs broke you are physically going to have lift 100% or the door weight to raise it. This is what the springs do is counter balance the weight so it can be raised manually or with an opener and not damage the door and not require your neighbor coming I've to help every time you need the door opened. You will need to know your spring size that you have, wire diameter, inside diameter, and length. We have a video on how to do this. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
