- This is song was released in July 1983 in France and Canada. The song was also previously issued as a B-side in the UK & Ireland on the single for There Goes a Tenner.
In French "Ne t'enfuis pas" literally translates to "Don't run away", though it can also mean "Don't flee".
Translations in official Kate Bush lyric books have rendered the title as "Don't Fly Away", with the lyrics mentioning wings and falling from the sky.

First time I listened to this song was about 40 years ago, when she was on French radio with Bernard Lenoir for an interview. She brought the tape with her. Lovely interview. and a wonderful song in french unfortunately too short. ❤️

She had a lot more control, single wise for b-sides. While her contract with the record company meant she retained copyright for all her work, she had not power over what was chosen as the a side single wise. Where the b-side was concerned they didn't really care and so she could chose what she wanted. Many moons there was a box set released called "This Woman's Work" along with the official albums there were two additions that were the b-sides albums.

Yes I always felt the same about this song. There is another version but it's the same length.
At that time of making b-sides, or non album tracks, it was a timing of what you could fit on it.

It's a great video but I think "ne t'enfuis pas" translates to "don't run away".
It literally translates to Don’t Run Away, but it can also mean Don’t Flee or Don’t Fly Away. It can be interpreted in many ways.

Just found your wonderful videos for Kate's music! As you are no doubt aware, Kate intended to do the Ninth Wave as a short film but never got round to it so I was very pleased to see you had done your interpretation of it but the b*******s at EMI wont let me view it !!!!
