I see it more as a beautiful extension of the original giving more of a background/behind the scenes vibe. I prefer the original but the violin intro of this version always kills me, when I hear it.
The beautifully recorded intro adds much to this 12 inch Instead of just duplicating a verse or musical loop - brilliant indeed This is how you do a 12 inch extended version - marvellous
Now the song becomes what it essentially is - a bridge between the theme of experimenting with natural phenomena in Cloudbusting and the lush violins of The Fog on the later album The Sensual World
I only came across this mix a few weeks ago during lockdown, it is suberb, sometimes I just listen to the remixed intro, but I find it has a profound message\warning. I remember hearing them heavy people in 1978 on a long car journey, and have always recalled that memory ever since.Thank you Kate.
Long ago, I owned the 12' vinyl. I'm grateful a high quality version is still out there. This is indeed the same track that was on the 12", which I think I'm recalling as 45rpm.
It sure is him.. Can't believe this song rarely gets mentioned amongst fans. Absolutely STUNNING violin moments on this track, along with 'the fog' these are in my top 5 favs of hers...
I used to listen to this over and over again- So much better than the radio edit- Always remind me Vaguely of this Killing Joke track from around the same time --ua-cam.com/video/m3_mFD0lr7g/v-deo.html
Amazing violin performance provided by the outstanding violinist, Nigel Kennedy!
This extended version is infinitely better than the regular version. So much more happening in this one.
Totally agree with you

Oh yeah I just discovered this version after listening to the shorter version countless times & this is now the only version I want to listen to!
It's just a beautiful song. Kate Bush has such an unbelievable imagination. That of a genius.
That weeping violin....I can’t 😢

Kate Bush is everything
I didn't think my favourite Kate Bush song could be made better.....but here it is! Awesome 👌👏👏👏😍

This extended version is just so powerful I get chills.
My favourite KB song ❤️❤️❤️
J'adore. Merci Kate. 💐🍀💐🍀🌈💕🌠
There's a lot more going on in the 12" version. Thanks for uploading this
I would have to say this is her best piece of work.
Profoundly evocative as only Kate can do.

Cinematic version. BIGGER BETTER RICHER.
Now that's how to do a 12" version. Great strings reminds me of the Lark Ascending.
The Lark Ascending version with Iona brown on violin is one of my 'Desert Island' music choices - the strings here are so good!
Unfortunately I think it ommits the "It could feel like falling in love" part
@@Micho55 Kate’s vocal delivery of those lyrics is one of my favorite parts of the song-how she sings, whispers and wails in just four lines! 🤯 😳 😍
Yes it does! I always wondered why it sounded so familiar
“Strings” done by Nigel Kennedy who also played the violin in “The Fog” on The Sensual World

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this amazing mix!
Oh that sweet, sorrowful violin opening, then the drama unfolds. Gorgeous!
I just came across this mix, it adds so much more to the song! One of my favourite bush tracks
Geweldig nummer. Bijna gitaar uit voering vind ik goed
This is just so good. Gotta love her.
Thanks for uploading this jewel!
absolutely love
Thank-you for this.
She and Nigel Kennedy were friends, weren't they. That must be him on the violin.
It sure is him.. Can't believe this song rarely gets mentioned amongst fans. Absolutely STUNNING violin moments on this track, along with 'the fog' these are in my top 5 favs of hers...
I've never herd this before thanks for uploading this
What an awesome band
rush and Kate Bush could have been epic
"and the public are warned to stay off" - the same message for Area 51 I suspect
Absolutely chilling....
great intro
Kate Bush. Gary Numan. What was in the water in England then?
