The world needs Kate now more than ever.
Yes I'm playing kate now in 2020 during the lockdown missing people
I know I do. :(
My friend you are not wrong there..
I didn’t realize how much thanks
we need everybody this is an all hands on deck moment
Kate Bush is a genius. I have always loved her and always will. All the Beyonces, Madonnas and Mariah Careys of the world with their diva personalities and need for attention......and then you have Kate. Quiet, reclusive self effacing but beautiful and pure genius.
Talent like this comes along once every generation, if that. And it’s not always recognised.
Love what you said. Not much can or will ever compare to Kate. Completely original and unique
If Kate Bush never wrote another song this would be enough. Just a joyous end to the album second side. It's brimming with emotion and soundscaping. Hello earth - if we found it new we would love earth. She is a national treasure without doubt. Wonderful.
DR DAVID SANDS International treasure I fell

It is staggering in it's beauty and complexity. MrMarrs has done a staggering job (as he always does) putting together visuals to explain the song. It's not the end track of Hounds of Love/9th Wave though. Morning Fog is. It is the Earth waking from her slumber when land reemerges from the ocean while also being KB's relief of coming out of her studio after completing the album. I hope you've subscribed to this channel to see more of MrMarrs genius tributes to KB's music (and other artists). I haven't watched conventional tv for over 18 months. I watch something from this channel almost daily. I'm waiting for MrMarrs to upload his clip to "Strange Phenomena".
The Georgian folk singing makes this special.
I love everything about the song except those parts. I wish there was an edit without them.
Gregorian monks 👍
Lee told you about the singers from the Ukranian church who showed up every Christmas on their tour of people woh would make a large (?) contribution. The tradation was to bring out a tray with a shot glass for each. They were pretty smashed sometimes, I wondered ho many houses the visited.
It was magnificent. The acoustics of our front entry and those voices. I wish I had a recording.
Mister David Kate said she lifted that with permission from the classic horror movie "Nosferatu"
@@mungofinalfi4480 Na. Kate's a genius. Maybe you should just stick to the top 40 hits .
I love many of Kate's songs, but this song is absolutely staggering. This is easily one of her masterpieces, IMO.
"The Ninth Wave" is not from this World, its really an amazing Masterwork!
It is astonishing.
Finally a Georgian song:winwyaro წინწყარო❤
No song, no line, not even one of hers, has ever produced such a physical tingling reaction in me stronger or more often than that incredible “all you cruisers” at 2.45... it’s like she’s a got a switch to my inner most self. Astonishing song, astonishing album side. Good headphones, late at night, turned up loud, one person starts listening to the first track and different one finishes the last.
Aye, well . . . she gets in about you, does Kate . . .
Kate composed the soundtrack to some of the best days of my youth. She indeed was the siren in my head; as I trod amoung the stars in my mind.
@@kikichunt8322 ; spoken like my beloved brit bretheren. Kate; and of course her protege are some of the highest artistic achievements coming from your side of the pond this century.

I was a fisherman, so this song resonates with me. I love it. I imagine listening to it when we were in a flat calm sea beyond all the lights of land with the stars in the sky reflected below us so it looked like we were in the middle of space. Ive seen it. This song takes you there.
funny but, it was that part about the fishermen that moved me so when first I heard this, I would just imagine the peril at sea & the connection to the earth
Anyone wondering beautiful sample Kate used, It's an Georgian folk piece called "tsintskaro" by hamlet gonashvili 🇬🇪 !

waoh!! thks!!
This song is magic. The vision she had to write it and then the execution of the production with that choir. Art. Pure art. Play this when I die or something.
THIS is TOO good. Still gives me chills after 34 years. Absolutely superb. Kate Bush is a genius songwriter and musician. Unique beyond words.
SAME HERE.
You have to listen to the whole album because each song relates to the next. It's one of my favourite albums of all time. It really is incredible.
You are so right!! One of my all time favourites too
Catherine E Trueman one of the best albums ever made
The Best
You have great taste friend
The greatest female songwriter on Earth. Quite simply a genius.
Always been a massive fan of Kate Bush...where others of my age ridiculed her (I was 17 yrs old at the time ) I found her music so unique... I could identify with her in so many ways in my youth... I kept this love of her music away from my so called friends that you could count on one hand!. Favourite songs that always stand out for me : The Man With The Child In His Eyes/ Mother Stands For Comfort /The Sensual World / Jig of Life / Etc Etc Etc...:)
I know how you felt. I had the same experience but luckily one of my friends was obsessed as I was.
Misoginy
You had musical taste beyond your years. I too had found myself hypnotised /empowererd by her incredible sonic creativity …she was so magnificent to make these songs as pieces of art
The young ones at the time didn’t know that Kate wasn’t trying to fit into the world of pop music. I’m the same age as Kate and back when she started, I loved some of her music but was completely baffled by most of it. Now at age 65 I totally get it. I get her. It’s art. It was never meant to fit in with Waterloo or Mamma Mia by Abba. She’s has always been out on her own limb, with her own style that hadn’t been heard anywhere back then. It was something new. Kate is a genius. Way ahead of her time and a lot of her music is way too mature for most very young people of that era. I’m just glad that I finally caught up. She’s phenomenal.
this song sure will make you appreciate having the ability to hear
For context, "Hello Earth" is part of the The Ninth Wave Suite, which was inspired by the painting by Ivan Aïvazovsky; 'The Ninth Wave' (1850)
I truly hope she knows the joy she has brought to so many of us
A good whiskey, a sunset, and a song like this makes me feel the world could be ok
Well maybe not whiskey! A wee Bucky for me! But that's my preference. but when in doubt give KB a shout 😀x
whiskey for me !!! Loads of kt bush band …. we'll get through ……….. thanks Kate
Yes she does
Kate Bush is a marvel. She is incredibly gifted.
The Ninth Wave is such a masterpiece, there aren't even words to express it.
The Hounds of Love album from start to finish is pure genius.
Her songs and compositions are something extraordinary. Thanks God that she appeared some time ago. I love her and this what she has done in music. Awesome!!!!!!
Kids go for Running Up That Hill (good song though).
Cultured people know this is the best song on the album.
if you are here, you just understand
Yes, I understand. Absolute genius.
I'm here because I was greatly moved from the first time I heard this song
The legacy of my departed parents for me is Kate.. all my childhood she was always in the car radio
@@demi4765 that’s a beautiful sentiment. I hope you are in a good place x
I understand that she (in 1985) could predict exactly what’s happening right now (2021) and of which her conclusion is ”Go to sleep little earth”….we’re doomed but the earth will wake up again….
Three years ago the subject of your favourite song came up in my circle of friends. One of my friends said it was this song. Sadly, weeks later he suffered a tragic early death completely out of the blue. It was naturally played at his funeral in full. Most of us were a complete mess listening but my dear friend will never be forgotten and will always feel close when I hear this beautiful song. #RIP
It was only the Internet many years later that enabled me find who sang that mysterious thing at the end. It was legendary Hamlet Gonashvili from Georgia, long time ago. How she found him back then was a mystery to me and a mind of a genius. But I remember having headphones and listening to this with closed eyes. And thinking "what is this??" Also, Werner Herzog used this chanting even earlier than Kate in his "Nosferatu, phantom der nacht" movie.
Everytime listening to Kate Bush's songs, my soul leaves my body. 🌍🌎🌏
I can definitely see how that could happen. I too feel less bound by my physical vessel.
Kate Bush's music is sublime - worth being human for.
“Has it ever struck you that life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quick you hardly catch it going?”― Tennessee Williams............
Kate Bush ... in a different class from the rest. Lost in admiration!
Kate is a genre of her own
Oh god this has made me remember how obsessed I was/am with the Ninth Wave. One of the best albums out there- experimental, brave, bold and just beautiful.
In that part the song there is a prayer in order to keep her head above water.
The original version of the song was going to go straight to the chorus part but she changed her mind about it. As most creative people do.
To me it's like the chanting IS the earth
@Tuco Ramirez To me, that makes it even bigger
@Tuco Ramirez heresy

@@isobeljames1328 go do something productive with your life
It is truly beautiful and I have gone on to listen to Hamlet Gonashvili's Tsintskaro. Utterly amazing and makes me want to delve into more Georgian music.
When i went to see her in the before the dawn show in 2014 she came on with her band and I thought this is great but it's a bit tame and normal considering how creative she can be and then suddenly the stage went quiet and a big blue screen and sheet came down and she did the entire hounds of love album and it was out of this world i was beyond excited
Lucky you that would have been so perfect.
My heroine way ahead of her time. When people were listening to 80s music I had Kate. In my heart and soul🌸🌸🌸
I met the entire crew of Apollo 12, and sat down and talked for a long time with each of them, especialy Bean. He said that Spece changed him permanently, but oddly enough, going to the Moon was not as profound as living in the Space Station for over a month, looking down on the Earth. Hello Earth.
My first time experiencing this song, I was extremely high on weed. The break in the music where it's just the male choir was so hauntingly beautiful... When I closed my eyes I had a visual of this big red oil painted robot, surrounded by a lush backdrop of nature. That memory will always remain in my mind whenever I hear this beautiful piece of art.
The song used for the choir:
/watch?v=r3pTaSe4c-s
Near the end where the harmonies shift from what sounds to my like open fifths on F and C to open fifths on G-sharp and C-sharp, right before the "Tiefe, tiefe"--gets me every time! It feels like the whole universe just opens at that moment. A small space growing vast.
Absolutely agree. Sublime. xx
Yes, I felt it too. :)🌎❤️🎼
Right on!
Agree....so cinematic and other worldly
An absolutely amazing song that takes me to the deepest depths of my soul and dreams I never knew until I heard this beautifully almost haunting music. My body is here but my soul is flying in the beautiful spiritual world❤
Just an amazing song, Kate is truly a gift to the world.
I love all the songs Kate Bush did. They are all soberb and special, but this is one of my favorites.
This song is one of her best!
Long ago I got the unique privilege to talk to the entire crew of Apollo 12 for about an hour. Bean, who became an artist afterwards , was the warmest and the best. He told me that while being on the Moon was a profound experience, it was nothing compared to his prolonged missions orbiting our beautiful, unique and warm planet. He said that experience, the most profound of his life, permanently changed him. numerous astronauts have related similar feelings from this experience..
The whole album is wonderful but this song is a masterpiece, words fail me. I remember the first time I heard this track and it was a spiritual experience.
The highest point of the album. To call it a masterpiece would be an understatement.
Oh don't go over the top FFS. It ain't Mozart. "Masterpiece"! You sound young
@@1thaleb He's right. The album will be considered a masterpiece and the song itself is a masterpiece. The song is probably Kate Bush best song ever.
And I am old enough to have heard Wuthering Heights on TV in 1978.
@@1thaleb Best song on the album and I'm years older than Kate.
@1thaleb ...and you sound sad and narrow-minded. This masterpiece may well outlast Mozart for all we know.
Jesus. This is one of the girl's greatest tracks. And The Morning Fog, too : )
The whole concept album was astonishing. Waking the Witch was so damnned unexpected, Under Ice so horrifying, god this didn't get the recognition it deserved.
I love The Moring Fog. Agree.
I've always loved this ethereal magical creature known as Kate bush, she really does make me feel like I could fly amongst nature ,every song a masterpiece.
Tiefer, tiefer. Irgendwo da unten gibt es ein Licht. Kate is a goddess!!! She is from another world. Love Kate.
this album is a glory of the 80's
And beyond! It transcends decades or genres!
The production on Hounds Of Love is incredibly magnificent.
I’m just so happy that I’m alive on this planet at the same time as this amazing human lady!
...deeper, deeper...
...somewhere in the deep.
there's a light...
One of my favourite Kate songs. Shows what a singular artist and masterful songwriter she truly is.
Tiefer, tiefer, ... Irgendwo in der Tiefe gibt es ein Licht..... Go to sleep, little earth. Alas, earth and its residents really seem to be asleep. Time to wake up, little earth. Thanx Kate Bush. Really beautiful music.
Beitiful thoughts…. But … she’s just predicting the end (look up the lyrics)
I used this song and video to introduce an 80 year old friend to KB - she is now hooked.
Hello earth
Hello earth
With just one hand held up high
I can blot you out Out of sight
Peek-a-boo, Peek-a-boo, little earth With just my heart and my mind
I can be driving Driving home
And you asleep
On the seat
I get out of my car
Step into the night
And look up at the sky
And there's something bright Traveling fast
Look at it go, Look at it go
Hello earth Hello earth
Watching storms Start to form
Over America
Can't do anything
Just watch them swing
With the wind out to sea
All you sailors (Get out of the waves, get out of the water)
All life-savers, (Get out of the waves, get out of the water)
All you cruisers, (Get out of the waves, get out of the water)
All you fishermen
Head for home
Go to sleep, little earth I was there at the birth
Out of the cloudburst
The head of the tempest
Murderer Murder of calm
Why did I go? Why did I go?
Tiefer, tiefer Irgendwo in der tiefe Gibt es ein licht
Go to sleep little earth
Dream of Sheep & this song have always been my Hounds of Love faves. It's great to see so many peeps checking out Kate's music, thank-you Stranger Things. 😎👍
Bought Kick Inside as an employee at a record store, 1982 or thereabouts. Been following her ever since.
Queen Kate, I adore and respect you as one of the greatest Artists from my time. Love you
Kate Bush is the female David Bowie. Their work is often very different but it's the worldbuilding and quality.
They both had the same great and divine master, Lindsay Kemp.
Unless you listen to every single Bowie album, appreciate them for the wildly different contexts and purposes that they were created in, it is easy to regard Bowie as more shallow than Bush. It is actually quite a genius of Bowie to be a shallow looking water that runs deep. They were very different. Bowie was so soulful (check the song It's Gonna Be Me from the Young Americans sessions), so about the outsider - although often in a Nietzschian sense (Kate's arguably more about the 'insider' - the person in a stablish relationship, the person who works for the government etc. She's basically solidly middle-class par excellence). I don't like to say one's better even though Kate more explicitly plucks at the heartstrings and presents a more classically British life of playing piano in the parlour and being extremely family-oriented. She's certainly more organised in her albums as a fully cohesive, enjoyable, statement and she's far more of a concept artist than he was. She's far more of a composer than he was. He had his John Lennon-like ego going on sometimes and he wasn't particularly gracious to some British artists. However, she hasn't namechecked many people who came along after her either.
So very grateful, Mrs. Bush, so very much for so very long now. In love with your art for 40+ yrs. Only gets richer. Thank the universe for you
agree completely …… much love to you
her music is so literal and it’s so beautiful, she manage to bring amazing narratives to her songs and they all relate to a bunch of daily situations of our basic lifestyle. however, she brings visuals through her words, making them beautiful enough for a song like this. you just need to sit, listen and look around to start crying and realizing how perfect her art is, and the most amazing art is the one you can feel in your heart and soul
I know exactly what you mean, it’s an incredible ability she has x
Tiefer, tiefer, irgendwo in der tiefer, gibt es ein leicht. That is sooooooo awesome!
Will never get over the thrill and wonder of seeing her in London on the Before the dawn tour. Last night. Out of this world. Only thing on my bucket list really, and my awesome son bought me tickets as as a surprise. Experience of a lifetime.
A woman in touch with nature...A woman in touch with life...
This is why I live.
This hit from Kate Bush was heard on the Miami Vice episode, Bushido, which aired on November 22, 1985. Miami Vice will always be one of my all-time favorite shows. It was the first to combine MTV with police action drama.

I just discovered Kate Bush and Love her!!
What a divine talent she is.
Just jaw dropping. Thank you Mr Marrs for putting some visuals behind some of Kate Bush's greatest songs.
I always get a rush when Kate says "Tiefer, tiefer / Irgendwo in der tiefe / Gibt es ein licht"
English translation: "Deeper deeper / Somewhere deep / There is a light"
Too often we forget to see ourselves in the bigger picture. Not just our "little world" range of experiences and places.
Actually, it's not Kate, but Gabi Zangerl, who I think was a personal friend, and is credited on the album.
Wow thanks for the translation, it is beautiful, beautiful
Is it bad that it slightly irritates me that she actually says "is there a light". It should be "es gibt". I'm not sure if that was intentional or not
This is full of references to other sources. The choir, the German words near the end, the old movie The Cruel Sea. The 1985 disaster during the Fastnet yacht race (details of which are easily looked up). The astronaut voices at the beginning are from the first Shuttle flight, with Columbia and a crew of two. What you hear is a couple of different bits at different times, during the final descent. (At Mach 9, they'd have been just a couple of minutes from touchdown.)
Sansiveria, I can't do a proper reply to you, for some lame reasons only UA-cam can provide, but please be assured that is NOT the Trio Bulgarka. Kate discovered them well after this was recorded.
When was a voice ever so sublime?
Just as mildew corrupts a shower curtain, humanity corrupts this beautiful planet.
Humanity is the greatest beauty of this beautiful planet.
This song, if I allow it to, makes me sob. It gets me deep down in my soul. "Tiefer, tiefer, irgendwo in der Tiefe gift es ein Licht." Just! Love! It!
