The best shampoo I have found so far is Oribe Bright Blonde. I have dark brown hair that I color very blonde, but it can get brassy. The Oribe gives me a pearly blonde. I can use it everyday without getting that grayish/blue that you get with other purple shampoos. It’s expensive, but for me well worth it if you have reddish tones in your colored hair.
I use John frieda purple shampoo and conditioner as they are both vibrant purple. I only use the purple shampoo once a month but use the purple conditioner 2-3 times a month as a hair mask. I've also been trying malibu blonde and have seen great results
Hey Sharalee! I have said it before and I will say it again... your stylist is fantastic to be able to see the difference right away. That's a good stylist. Your hair always looks gorgeous so you must be doing something right! Great review!! ❤
Fun video. Great info for us silver-haired ladies. I have used just about everything! Schwarzkopf Igora Silver Absolutes whitening spray is wonderful. Not a shampoo but a treatment. I add it to my regular conditioner and leave on about 10 minutes. It removes all yellow oxidation from the elements and flat irons.
I found a purple shampoo that smelled great at TJMaxx. I decided to try it, and I liked it a lot. I have since ordered it online, Theorie Purple shampoo and conditioner. My favorite is the sage .
I read in a book all about hair that grey hair (and normal hair) needs to be washed with a clarifying shampoo once a week. Grey hair absorbs the minerals and chemicals in water. A clarifying shampoo will help wash the residue away. I’ve used the purple toner after highlighting and it does give a beautiful glow.
I think any brand will work what makes any of them work best is to put it on your hair dry what I do is apply to my hair when I'm fixing to shower leave it on for 10 to 15 mins. While I'm getting my towel an clothes up then I jump in shower an done ...this works best for me
@@sheriseibert32 I use the purple shampoo glob it on my dry hair leave it for about 10 minutes...I use the purple shampoo all the time an my hair was still yellow so a cosmetologist told me to put it on my hair dry an it got the yellow out my hair is very gray al.ost white

Thanks for the demonstration. I've been using Joico, but I'm going to give Amica a try when I'm out of Joico. I'm a little nervous about the drops though!
I absolutely love the amika shampoo and conditioner. It smells great and my hair does feel so hydrated. And my hair dresser says my brassy is also gone. I also have the Joicho but I feel amika wins! I love it and I love watching your Beaty inside and out ALWAYS
I stopped using purple shampoos because they made my natural grey have a bluish/purple tint even though I rinsed my hair extremely well. Upon a trip to Sally’s and speaking with one of their helpful staff members, I purchased BANTU, made by Softsheen-Carson. This is a Yellow-out conditioner, white in color, that brightens grey hair and removes yellowing. I use it after my regular shampoo and leave it on until the end of my shower before rinsing it out. My grey hair is bright and shiny!
I’ve been using Joico lately and just bought the big bottle. I’ve used Blond Uniq -need gloves for that one. I’ve also used Malibu C Blonde crystals. I’m interested in trying the Amika now!
What a fun video! You're so good about testing all of these products. Since I color my hair brown, I'll keep this video in mind when I decide to go gray. At the moment, I'm just too vain to do that. Thank you so much, my friend, for all the helpful information. Take care!!!

Not long after that I got some and it works great without drying out the hair.Thank you for turning me on to a number of great hair products that I now use.I would not be afraid to try those purple drops and I may just get some. Hi! I know this is an old video but I was wondering if you could tell me me, do you use your purple shampoo every day? (If you’re an every day washer) I’m going to start using a purple shampoo but I really don’t know much about them. How often to use? Can I use a regular conditioner after a purple shampoo or do I use a purple conditioner as well? I’m not fully blonde just getting some highlights in my medium brown hair to camouflage my grays. I’m not worried about using a purple shampoo on my darker hair because we have very hard water so I know it will help that section of hair as well. Thank you

Do you have any thoughts on blue shampoo products? In my younger years my “warm” light brown hair would tend to get golden/brassy with highlights. Now in my late 50’s, it tends to lean toward looking more red with color and highlights. 🤔 (Not exactly the look I’m going for!) Purple Joico helped some but my stylist recommended switching to blue Joico and limiting to one use per week. That helps cool the highlights a little better but with my base color, I’m still not getting quite the results I was hoping for. Hair can definitely be a challenge!
Yes!! Blue products are aimed at reducing "orange" tones and purple products help more with the "yellow" tones. Sometimes, a mixture of both might be needed. As for your base color, be sure your stylist is using "ashy" colors rather than "warm/golden" colors. I know there is a fine balance they are trying to achieve...if they go too ashy, it can almost look green and we don't want that!😂😘
@@SharaleesBoxOfChocolates No, indeed I do not need green with all of this other stuff I have going on! 🙄 But I think we may have come up with a solution.
