Luther Vandross my favorite male vocalist of all time incredible vocals he doesn’t compare to any one in a class al by himself.
Now this is what I call "singing".
The emotional roller coaster ride that this song takes you through is amazing.
Luther we miss you, there was no one like you.
1eye 1 never will be another like him.
His voice invites you to take that ride with every riff in every song:)
The boy can sanggghgg
Scrolling through the comments listening to this song is when I’m thinking about a particular person that was once apart of my life & when you say this song takes through an emotional roller coaster…YOU SPOKE THE GOSPEL!!😮💨🙌🏾🥺 This song gets me mentally,EVERYTIME..Blessings.✊🏾
Luther KNEW he was bad talking about "Merci beaucoup. Merci beau sho nuff coup." I almost fell out. Lol
Cedric Smith he used to say that all the time and I never knew what he meant when he would say that.

I love this live performance. He still had that young Voice.❤❤❤
The best ever. No one will ever come close.
The best version of Supestar was Luther live at Wembly Area in 87-88. It was realesed on Vhs in 1989. Wore the tape out. Thank God for Dvd. This is the second best version live! Love the intro. Your nobody till someone loves you! Your nobody till someone cares! That was taken from the Dean Martin song.
Detroit 1985 version is way better. lots of energy and passion
Agreed! the live at wembley version was the best especially the back up singers, his vocals & orchestral arrangement
I agree as well; although, Radio City holds a very special place in my psyche! 🥰 The way he and Nat brought that crescendo to life was EPIC! Along with Nat winding down on keys, it was also amazing!
Excellent point, this is the second best but not far behind d
This is the best version! This can't be topped! Luther poured out his soul!💜🕉️ I melt everytime I listen to it. #2018 #RIP LUTHER
I DREAM AND I DREAM
It’s 2022 and still ❤️ it 😊
Words can't describe this man's voice simply magical. For anyone to give this a thumbs down has never been in love clearly.
Listen to the Wembley Arena's Superstar performance, please
No one can do it, he's in a different league from other male singers, even female singers try to I emulate him
Never be another Luther miss this type of music🕊♥️
I totally agree with "JSHADOWBLADE1"...Luther's BEST vocals EVER were the last ever recorded...at Radio City Music hall...like a month before the stroke...so sad, sooo sad.
Still 2025......... From Change to Amazing Luther!
There is just once in a lifetime that a gift of this magnitude comes along, and thank God that he was able to share that gift with the world 😂
Rest ❤️ in peace ✌️
you see sometimes when it's late at night after a show like this.....testify
i play this one myself late at night
Always makes me cry cause I dream, and I dream, and I dream, and I dream, and I dream, and I dream. I know that I dream the impossible...
yep that part could even make Hitler sob his heart out....
Jessie C Love Bless your heart
Jessie C Love 😢😢😢I feel your pain
Jessie C Love beautiful words
smh...u'r so right j.c.love
Luther is sound is rare, his songs sounds just like or better than his recordings.there's only a few artist that could pull that off.
David Johnson Who?
R Kelly was like that before he got all crazy.
Mymymymymymy Luther has always Touches the Heart ❤️ way down deep!!! He was a blessing to the people🔥🕊️♥️👑😍🤗👀👍
We lost him way too soon. Miss ya LV.....
I was at this concert in Anaheim, Ca. The greatest performance ever!! I'll never forget this.....
What year was this, please?
I remember when I first heard Luther for the first time over 40 years ago. The chord that it struck in me is still there to this day. Miss you ♥️
Luther my GOD this man received a true Blessing from GOD almighty. He let his voice be used and released into the world for all to hear and acknowledge life. He sung about realness of life. Just listening your life can relate to the music. Always thought of never forgotten. We love you Luther rest in GODS peace. Love from Oklahoma.
Also produced most of David Bowie's albums
This version will take you there shiver on your toes
Man, that Luther could sing, he sounds even better live!
What an incredible voice.
Luther is a master vocalist. His voice was a gift from the creator
🙏🏾
Heard this version on KMJM Majic 108 back in the day! Just have to give it up for the way he starts this off! Said your nobodyyyyy! Luther know he could sang! Peace and thanks for posting!
LGKids majic 108 STL BABY!
One of the best live performances I have ever heard
The best male singer of all time hands down
KILLED IT!! He wiped the floor with my face lol .. THIS IS AMAZING
This man, his voice, his music this song awakens every nerve in one’s body there is no words just feelings pure raw emotions!
The GOAT! I remember seeing him in 1988 and an unknown comedian named Martin Lawrence opened for him and he was funny as hell.
"You're nobody til somebody loves you..til somebody cares" Wow--there's really nothing else to even say that that statement hasn't profoundly screamed.
Oh Luther wish you were still here. There’s no music and signing that tops yours!
No more music real Love 💕 Songs I miss this so much🎉😅
Still sad over this loss... this man knew how to say/sign & perform it!!!
Takes a Brother back to my youth! Love was in the air, and we enjoyed music from Masters like Luther! Thank God for his life and contributions to RnB! Wow! Perfection!!!!❤
This is incredible. The original was so special and important to me, I could never express it properly. I have known every note, vocal influx, instrument, percussion, and every minute detail, since it was released. I’m sure most of you can as well! I remember pulling over to the side of the road, whenever it came on the radio in the late 80’s/early 90’s, just so I could take it all in safely. One of a kind!!!
This man was truly remarkable
Impossible,became possible, Luther killed it!!!
Luther Vandross... How I miss real live R&B Music... Rest in Heaven ...
@@ulissamallory6939 Thankfully his Documentary/Movie will be out in a few weeks.

Good music lovers is the person on UA-cam that haves the 85 tour version luther vandross your welcome
🙏🙏 I will be there...❤
All my love , Always❤.
🙏🙏 To My God To Get Me
There❤
As much as I love the Radio City Music Hall version from 2003, this is undoubtedly Luther's very best live rendition of "Superstar". He was in a zone that night and he took the entire audience right along with him. When he started off with "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You", I knew it was a version I had never heard before...he was notorious for changing up the lyrics ever so slightly but never veered away from the original sentiment of the song. When he sings "And I dream and I dream and I dream and I dream...." WOW....This brother was the real deal and he knew it, but best of all, we knew it, too. The greatest vocalist of all time, without question. RIP to this beautiful brother❤️❤️❤️❤️
The amazing part to me was that his voice had been struggling the entire night. (This was skinny Lutha) The venue was small, not a bad seat in the place, there was only one way to the stage, & that was through the crowd, and because of the size, the sound was incredible. My sister was the loudest one in there & it was her scream when he started the song with "you're nobody..." She said "wait, this ain't superstar? I like it but what is he singing?" Then he started. I wish I would've hid my videocamera & recorded the show. But I still have the regular pictures from this night. But the next time, I did get my videocamera inside. Some of those are on here too.
Circle Star Theatre in Redwood City, Ca. 1988. A young and upcoming comedian opened for him that night too by the name of Martin Lawrence. I was 23 and in the Navy at Moffet Field Naval Air Station. Took my then girlfriend to that concert. Those were the best times in my life.
Heard this version 1988 89 in CHICAGO on the RADIO when I was a kid plus I got to see him live in chicago at the allstate arena with boyz ii men in 1996 it was magical I was 12 years old this lady took me cuz i was a fan!!!! She had no one to go with I got lucky your secret love tour this is the california Anaheim version Superstar
I remember hearing this particular live concert broadcast live on the radio. I also had the pleasure of attending one when they came to our area. It was awesome! He was awesome! My favorite part was "I dream, and I dream, and I dream and I dream and I dream and I dream and I dream..."
This is just a question for anyone, who do you know that can sing a song like Luther Vandross? This guy could just sing ANY SONG YOU WANTED TO HEAR. But do it and make it sound like it was his.... R.I.P. Luther....
Take a look #parkhyosin

@@sylvesterholmes2505 Luther is the man, the myth, the legend...an alpha proformer.
Dang even in a different language he is in point, he will always be in our hearts homes and family reunion playlist
That audience was in the palm of his hand. Like we all are❤
Only Mr Vandross could take a Karren Carpenters song and make it totally different and new but yet the same.pure divine genius. We are Truely a Divine People
Among so many greats,,,Luther still shines as one of the greatest ballad singers of all time. A master showman who could keep an audience in the palm of his hand throughout an entire show. He was even better live than on his wonderful recordings. He always chose great musicians and background singers. He did everrrything as good as anyone could ask, except, he left us far too soon. RIP Luther, you where the greatest singer everr.
smart one to whoever posted this, and my thanks from the bottom of my heart, we get this man heart and soul and soul

Marie Barnes Just tears me up...how I long to hear those words from my soulmate whom I have been physically separated from for 23 years, we've never lost contact. Even before the internet 😂. I have went on with my life, and I hate to admit it but I will never love my husband the same way. My soulmate has been engaged for like 8 yrs lol he can't marry her because he truly loves me. Our connection is so strong, we lived together for 1 yr. in the 1990s an were together one yr before that and we never had sex he didn't believe in premarital sex. Although his beliefs have somewhat changed. 😂 I want to meet up, but he is so afraid of what will happen. The ✨ between us cannot be ignored and he will be forced to make a decision, he doesn't want to hurt anyone as well I don't want to hurt my husband but that's what I'm doing anyway. My soulmate is definitely my hearts only desire. I long and ache to be with him everyday especially this past 2yrs I cannot live life without him much longer I feel like I'm dying inside. Imagine if we ever finally, have the chance to be physically intimate with each other, it will be exactly what God intended it to be. A beautiful pleasure, with the desires of both lovers being fulfilled. Two finally becoming one, your intertwined hearts, minds, and bodies. A feeling that no space or time can ever change. Always and forever. I love you,Redd. PAMjr
I would trade all the people in the business now calling themselves "singers" just to have him back!!!!
He killed it
Jesus’s Sandals...I’m listening to this in 2019 and it’s just amazing...I can’t even put into words how his “I dream” part brings me...
He was truly special, never be another like him...lucky to have seen him every time he came to Wembley.

merci beaucoup.....meri beau SHO NUFF!
Still brings tears to my eyes. Wow
Superstar and arena. My tablet is too sensitive. Had this version on tape as well. This has the same vocal arrangement as Wembley. Just Wembley's performance was smoother and tones flawless. Check that performance out on UA-cam. You can't go wrong with either one.
It's slightly different from Wembley. He pretty much kept it the same way for many years, but changed it up at times. The best one to me was from "The Power of Love & The Secret Love Tours" when he sang "Superstar" for 23 mins. I pray to God that I can get my hands on that video & audio.
+Stankfunkmusic74 23 minutes??? Sweet Lord that's seventh heaven.
I keep praying and hoping you find that one!
This man was a gift to this world God bless his soul
Absolutely.
And this night, his voice wasn't as strong as usual. He cracked about 4 times, but he let the crowd know that he does not play with their ticket money & he's pushing through it. And he did.
