Boy am I glad I picked up a couple hogie epoxy jigs at Hook House in Toms River yesterday! Worth. Every. Penny. After an incredibly frustrating week, this morning, (my last before heading back to CO,) was off the chain! Bluefish started busting everywhere. The dolphins, ospreys and I had a field day! My arms are sore from ripping ‘em nearly every cast. Nothing huge, but definitely the most fish I’ve ever caught in a single surf session. Thanks for your awesome videos and tips, I can’t wait to come back and do it all again next summer.
I love the Jamaica! If you haven't done it yet, I HIGHLY recommend the Saturday night bluefish trip. When you get out there, and the ocean is flat calm, and they turn those spreader lights on, you get to see some cool stuff right under the boat. Thanks for sharing this!
I worked as a deck hand on party boats for 25 years and you would get some captains that went on the loud speaker and gave info. Then you had some that didn't care. But today with the business no where as good as it was years ago the captain and crew are much more helpful. Especially considering how high the fare is

We got into the rose fish by-catch last trip and we just had it for dinner for the first time and it was amazing! .... Can't wait to watch your content... New sub here!
Was one one of my regular spots in LBI Sunday. Nothing but a couple shirts for 4 hours. Wanted to stay but my buddy had to leave so we packed it up. As we’re walking off guys to left and right of us banged keepers. Sometimes it’s about waiting until the right point in the tide and then the bite pops off
Finally shook the skunk off this morning. 25lb+ cow nose ray out of the surf. Damn near spooled me. I don’t care if it’s trash, it was the biggest thing I’ve ever caught off the beach and the fight was fun af.
@@FromtheSurfNJ I could only imagine. I steered clear of the tail and barb. I flipped it back over by the wing. It was way more dense and much heavier than I expected. Fun tho.
Did you just start fishing those fish Boston Mackerel is what we called them in the day are good for bait we used to catch them by the garbage can full and use them for Whiting bait, cod, bluefish ,stripers if you really had to eat them you want to eat them when they're fresh not after their frozen and I hear the captain say there is a two fish Seabass limit wow have times really changed those boats are charging over $100 now for a trip and you're only allowed 2 fish
I ate some, used the rest as bait for shore based fishing. I’ll admit…it’s nicer than having to stop by the bait shop and buy bunker. Yes it was my first time! Thanks for commenting!

I was just in manasquan yesterday and these guys on a boat were catching 15 pound striper in the middle of summer
The stripers have been lingering around a lot longer than they normally do. Still surprised to hear about them being caught this time of year!

You should try the full day ling marathon on the paramont. It's a pretty good trip that is worth your money.

There are much much much better boats than the big Jamaica. The big Jamaica should be your very last resort.
