People usually don't understand how hard filming is. Waking up super early, long trips to different locations, long hours in make up room, long waitings between countless takes. Now, add to that being +80 years old.
This. Simply creating at home and recording alone is demanding if you wanna be active, on top of that tripping over your own setup. Okay they do many things for you, but for example, being masqueraded takes much much longer. Imagine them, when Sean Bean was climbing up to the location instead of taking a ride 😅
Imagine this in the movie “So basically that’s why… Gandalf are you listening?” “Huh, what, where am I?” “ *sigh* looks like we’re gonna have to start all over again”
"12 year old with a beard." 😂 If i were Gandalf, I'd curse him with laryngitis just long enough to get my full hours of sleep. Poor Ian, at his age just let him sleep.
What do you mean action? Do you mean that there is action to take or are you implying that action has already been taken? Or perhaps you mean to say that action is in the process? Peter: all of them at once I suppose..
@@loudtrafficcone3869yes they did, it's the cut after Saruman introduces himself in the movie, the way it was edited makes it seem as if Gandalf is just frustrated at the discussion with Saruman
After having to do at least 20 takes on every scene I wouldn't blame him for sleeping like that. Just pick less than 10 and get on with it. You're wasting money and time on freaking every little detail and you're making it even worse when it comes to the editing process.
@@amyitis there's a later info clip that with Christopher Lee he did like over 15 takes with Ian and he said he also had 20 takes on certain points in the movie.
Ian was immediately in character. Seriously impressive
Even taking small naps seems like something Gandalf would do
"A wizard never over sleeps" 😂
@@Eustaphios21😂😂😂
And he stayed in character even when he banged his head at the side of the ceiling in Fellowship, hence partly why it stayed in the movie.
Will always be one of my favorite actors ❤
Gandalf is never asleep he sleeps precisely when he needs to
You clearly don't have a brain. Go ahead and reread your comment little bro
Yes
Love this comment 😂
Gandalf was just recharging his mana. It's a wizard's thing 🧙
'I'm waitin' for the HEALER to get manna!' 😊
Yeah! XD
It’s a short rest. Afterwards he’ll have all of his spell slots back for the next take!
@@not_the_useless_cake856 😁😆😅🤣😂🪄But What About SECOND BREAK...FAST?🪄
@@not_the_useless_cake856 XD nice one.
From what I’ve seen of Peter Jackson, Martin Freeman described him perfectly!

Hurry up and wait

@@anhnhvn look it up.. he is scared of height and helicopters
McKellen wasn't 80 yet by the time they filmed that. Or was he?
And having to keep your wardrobe and make-up intact (no lying down between shots). It is SERIOUSLY onerous, with moments of grandeur. 👌🏻
“Pre-Beard” 😂😂😂
That's MR. TREE...
A wizard never oversleeps! He wakes precisely when he means to!
Imagine this in the movie
“So basically that’s why… Gandalf are you listening?”

That's basically how Iron Man 3 was told, or revealed to be told, at the end of the movie.
"I have no memory of this place"
You're the only shorts UA-camr who doesn't absolutely screw up the subtitles every time. Congrats for that.

At least he didn’t sleep with open eyes.
Thats a "The White" specific power
When you go to Rivendell just to get a nap because the elves are so relaxing.
Yeah, that’s possibly the best description I’ve heard of Peter Jackson.
The level of professionalism is mind blowing 😂
I love my LOTR. But I just wanna hear this guy's accent!! Gorgeous.
I love that he kept that on the movie and we can see it 😂❤
I love “pre-beard”! 😂
they bored gandalf to sleep
Imagine waking up Voldemort from his nap and getting hit by a *_aBrADacAdBRa!_*

Did you not see the real set.
Gandalf: I'm up. I'm up. Did i mess up the shot?
Peter Jackson has the funniest personality ever😂
now we know what happens when gandalf is missing somewhere
That was adorable
and they kept that in the movie.

Peter: all of them at once I suppose..
Now THIS is a good comment! I approve, and hope more ppl see it. :)
I'd never understand how these movies were not even close to being as good as the first trilogy since it was directed by the same guy.
"pre-beard" 😂
Being 24 000 years old gets tiring
Pre beard 😂
Pre beard lol
Wait, didn't they keep that scene in the movie?
Like, the slight wake up? Or am I remembering wrong?

Considering Peter Jackson has a good track record of movie making and you don’t, I think I’d be inclined to disregard this comment.
No production does 20 takes that's too expensive. there's definitely different camera angles, and resetting camera takes a looooong time.
