The coins flowed like water not like coins

I'll tell you exactly why the coins look wrong, and it bugs me every time I watch the movie. It's because they don't glitter when the camera is moving. They only glitter when the coins themselves are moving.

And then they used some random GoPro footage just to ruin a scene😂

Still can't beat practical effects and makeup and filming on location like the lotr trilogy had. You can definitely see the difference with how much cgi they used in the hobbit trilogy. That extra effort put in for the lotr trilogy makes the world of difference really and why it still holds up today and contributes to why its just such a great trilogy.

The stupidest scene in the movie. Why not go with the quieter but still dangerous version of the book?

What could have been. We could have had Jackson given the time required to allow his true vision to be shown for the Hobbit. We could also have had Del Toro's version. That said I still don't think a trilogy would have been needed even if Jackson was given the backing he should have had. Del Toro pointed out that there's a perfect mid point in the book allowing you to split it to two films. The additions were not justified imho.

People who hate on The Hobbits CGI forget it’s a story Tolkien told for his kids. It’s supposed to be exaggerated and fun

90% of CGI is unrealistic. Teams of people have to spend a lot of their time studying the physics of it and code it to look as realistic as possible but looking as realistic as they can isn't good enough it needs to look life like.

Let's keep in mind that although the Hobbit used a little more CGI than they could have, it's still volumes better than most other films.
