It will be a good video series for me to follow. I can sympathize with the new owner. I can see that it will be an uphill battle. At what point is a parts bike a good idea?
I just had another thought (disclaimer: I have very little experience). Since new parts are hard to find, What are going to do when you need a clutch, bearing, oil seal, etc? This will not be good for someone with OCD.
Johnnysshop backwoods slayer was my sons account. He passed away recently and I am checking his comments. He has 2 81 250s. If you need an air box I have one.
John. If you still need the air box there is still one on the bike. We are sorting thing out of his collection this week. If you still need it just reply and I’ll get back to you. Thanks
The reason I'm selling as I do not have the means to fix mine or the money and I'm laid off and hurting for money used this video originally to try and fix mine and quickly realize how expensive that would be and quit I'd rather give it a home to somebody that's going to take two bikes and make one complete one and have a vintage nice bike and take care of it then have it go to waste
I have a complete 1980 YZ250 G the carburetor needs work and it needs new reeds I did a compression test it's only got 50 psi all plastic surgeon there including the airbox the airbox has holes cut in it I don't know why I think it's stupid but it's there if your friends willing to pay 500 bucks for it I'll ship it if you pays for that too
I have a 1980 YZ 250 air box if you’re still looking.
It’s a 1981 but someone put disc brakes on the front from a newer bike. Probably the forks too.
Sweet!! Glad you are back making dirt bike videos!
Yes!! look foward to these vids. Love your channel! And ofcourse wheelsnthangs but this channels where I'm at 👌👍
Good to see another bike project, Johnny!
John, of you still need an air box. My sons whole collection is getting auctioned off next month. I have an 81 air box here.
I might be picking up one of these for 100 bucks. Real barn find
I have an air box for an 81. I’m located in Pittsburgh pa. I have a whole 1981 yz250 parts bike.
Looks like an 81’ since it has gold rims and the type of stickers on the gas tank. Also 80’ had 38mm diameter forks and the 81’ had 43mm forks.
