- In this featured video we take a look at another fine example of a 1980's motocrosser in Martin Reid's Yamaha YZ250 G. These bikes were excellent racers for their day and very popular among riders in the early 1980's.

Great video content on this machine. Although I must confess that I never owned or even rode a 250 of any make or model. I myself jumped from the 125 class straight up to the open class bikes where I am today at age 57. Thanks again for your time today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Wow, that's beautiful! I had a '79 YZ125 and my brother had a '78. Looking at this sure brings back great memories!
It's 2024 and I still have a 79 YZ250 also a 81 it 465
Beautiful YZ!
Thanks! Chris
In 1980 these were as good as you could get in the 250 class. Faster than the 79 YZ and faster than the 81 YZ as well.
IDK...I raced both and my '81H ran pretty strong too. That "Boost Bottle" the '81 got was "revolutionary." 😂 I did prefer the 5 speed transmission too. 🤷
really nice looking bike the engine looks brand new. thanks Chris 👍
I have a 79 YZ250 it's fast but the power band is totally unpredictable it's flip me a few times
What would a 1979 YZ250 in excellent condition worth? Thanks for sharing!
👍👍👊
Thanks Chris , good video nice bike , Swedish Ryder Hakan Anderson was world champion 250 cc whit Yamaha in the eighties super , your fan Henri Put belgium 🇧🇪 cheers Chris and thanks again
That was my first 250. Sent the shock to White Bros for the "Marty Moates Mod", installed an ATX fork kit, and it was a fantastic bike!
A very beefy work of art 💯🤟🙏🤠🇬🇧
