I'm 57, bought my violin 12 years ago but didn't get near it. Now I'm getting the chance to and so happy to find such great content and so many other beginners. NEVER TOO OLD!!!
how'z it going, Annie ? I can sympathize with your shared comment here. I've been ready to start for some time! Let's!!
@@FAM_40d40n I hope your violin journey is going well. I just started mine today, and that feeling of bowing your first open strings is just great. Good luck!
Yes just after I bought my violin My dad became ill and moved in with me. No matter how slow the going is just keep at it right?
Kaden, ... bless you! I've kept your response in my email notifications ~ to remind me to stay-the-course. Right now, needing consistency ...
@@FAM_40d40n as long as you pick it up everyday and tune it that's enough. And then you can wipe the strings and give it a kiss
I'm so excited to be learning to play the violin at 64 years old!! I'm realizing lately that the stories we tell ourselves determine our destiny, and it's never too late to rewrite our false narratives. I've always loved the violin, and I appreciate your teaching style - you explain well, you're very methodical and calm.Thank you so much.
Good luck with your playing! Enjoy!😊👍🎻
I am i same boat at 58 years attended first session of weekly violin class last week in Mumbai starting with how to holding bow. Very lucid video presentation for beginners like me.Thank you teacher.
Turning 50 next year!! Start my practise❤️🙏🏿😅
I beat you! I'm 72. I had two old violins that my Dad owned and played. I took one in to be refurbished and re-strung. It had not been out of its case for about 50 years! I don't think I'll be playing in an orchestra, but I'd be happy learning simple tunes. One thing the man in the violin shop told me was to NOT touch the horsehairs on the bow -- it might pick up oil from your fingers.
Tribulations will come but GODS light will always sustain providing a metaphoric place for your soul to refuge. GOD is Good 🙏
What's that got to do with learning violin? 😄
@@journeyofasister it doesn’t because it’s not for the video it’s for the comment section
My wife and I, both in our early 70's and competent on various other musical instruments, decided to take up the violin this week. We found another UA-cam site which after watching it for about 20 minutes very nearly made us give up! Then we found this site - what a difference! We now feel much more confident that buying a violin was a good move and look forward to progressing with your lessons. Thank you.
Hi Mike, thank you for you kind words. Buying the violin was an excellent idea. Good luck with your studies.
I guess Im randomly asking but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost the password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
I'm also in my 70's and prior to Covid, had private online lessons, but then stopped. I want to take it up again. . ..so hope these videos will help me.
I'm 24 years old and I just bought a violin. I come from the beautiful country of Vietnam. I was surfing Tiktok and saw your video so I came here. I just finished watching your Day 1 video.
Welcome! Hope you enjoy watching lots of the violin videos 🎻🎻
I'm 27 and bought my violin yesterday. Thank you for releasing this course and I look forward to following along!
Wow that's cool I'm 28 and about to get one in a week or two. So happy to see that am not alone in starting late with violin
26 & mine just got here!
You guys are amazing!! Thanks for motivating me as well
Hi everyone, I am kellwin from Malaysia, I just bought my first violin at 34 year old
I will start to learn from today
After having cancer 4 times in 2 years, and twice being given 6 months to live, I retired so I could enjoy what time I had left (that was 2018-2020). I am now in remission, and feeling reasonably well so decided to take up a new hobby. I have been playing piano since the 1960’s, so I already have extensive musical knowledge, but always fancied violin. Before this week I had never even touched one! It took me 2 days to be able to hold it correctly. (I have small and slopey shoulders so I now have a shoulder rest. As I am on benefits there is no way I can afford lessons, so thank you so much for doing these! You are doing it at a sensible speed too, but not in a patronising way. I am so looking forward to being able to play a few tunes. Thank you
Hi Lesley, what an inspiring story. Best of luck with your playing and more importantly with your health!
Very helpful. I looked for some UA-cam channels for learning something about violin, but this is the most useful one. Thank you so much for your efforts.
Glad it was helpful!

Yesterday I bought the violin to learn it, but I was very afraid because I would learn it without a music teacher, but now I feel that part of the fear has gone, thank you.
We are together in this 😢😂
When I was 16 I was 2 pieces away from finishing book 1 of the Suzuki Method, now I am 35 and got my old violin from my parents house. I’m gonna start again following this 30 day course. Thank you so much, I’ve been trying to find the right method in the vast youtube universe and I find your teachings best for me. Thanks again!
Hi PoLenChos, thank you for sharing this with us! Good luck with your playing! Best wishes from the UK.

I'm 18 and I think I'm "too old" to play violin but I'm trying to convince myself that its not, because I've always wanted to play violin.
Thank You! I'm almost 27 on this June 8th... And i'm so excited to learn how to play! God bless You!
I am a 66 old and decided that I would like to learn to play violin. It is my understanding that the Suzuki method of learning to play is more based on learning to play by ear than reading sheet music. My intent is to learn to play for my own entertainment/satisfaction. Let's just say that I have no plans to audition for any symphony! Is this a method that you would recommend for someone like me? Many thanks for your input.
Go for Crickboom violin method. It is a better approach to self-taught violinist enthusiasts.
Go for it! Certainly
DAY 1 Complete 😊
I bought my violin last week and my suzuki book volume 1 to 8 just arrived yesterday. Due to having busy business trips until End May, I am forced to delay my first class until June. Now, i am kinda of relying on these classes as warm up to practice before attending to the actual classes. Bc i just can't stand a minute doing nothing with my violin in the case for a month.😂😂
I'm so excited to be learning to play the violin at 42 years old!! My siblings are musically gifted, but I thought that gene had passed over me somehow. This is really helpful , as a beginner I really love your teaching thank you ❤
The irony being that you say the safest place your your violin when not playing is in it's case whilst having two violins hung up on the wall
Haha good point!

Such a lovely video!
I’m planning on getting a violin and hopefully this will help me to learn. A very clear video.
Go for it! Good luck 🍀🎻🎻🎻
I took lessons for 8 years as an adult then life got in the way 13 years ago. I’m picking it back up now and I think starting from scratch is best. Thank you for putting these online! I live in a small mountain community and we no longer have a violin teacher.
Hi JM Williams, thanks for your message. Glad to help, and I hope you enjoy your violin journey. Good luck! 🤞
I just inherited my great grandmother's violin after it sat in the corner of my grandfather's closet for 70 years.
I'm excited to learn how to play but, of course, rural area, there are no teachers.
Looks like I had to go all the way back across the pond. 😂
Unless I missed it; you didn't explain what a Suzuki method is.
How is it different from whatever else there is?
What the Suzuki method is, I can explain in my live class on Friday 24th Feb. Its too long to write in a few words. Good luck with your playing.
Her happy and smiley face makes me want to work harder. You're an inspiration.
Really will we learn to play violin in 30days ? How many hours we should stady in the day?!!

Hello I found your channel today and decided I'm going to go through the 30 day course. I am in the process of taking a violin I've had for over 20 years into a fellow to put new strings on it and hair on the bow. I don't know how to play it but I've wanted for as long as I've had it. It's a German violin and has a French bow which I'm told is one I shouldn't let kids play with. lol I've rented a violin a couple of times over the last 10 years but I'm not a note reader and have no desire to learn. I learned the guitar when I was young most by ear but started with a few basic cords. My dad used to play guitar at home all the time and I've always been wanting to play music especially the violin and piano. So wish me luck I just subscribed and hope we can all walk away proud to be able to play this instrument with a smile.😉
Hi Hiker X, thanks for your comment. You will, just keep going. Any questions please ask and if you can, come and join us for the live class this Thursday at 10am. Good luck!
Thank you, I am 23 years old and I have not one musical bone in my body but the violin kept on popping up in my head, I started doing bunch of research on it caz I wanted to know more of this instrument that wouldn’t leave my mind… one day I dreamt about me playing the violin at church for the Lord and that was confirmation. I bought my first violin last week Friday and I’m so excited. Thank you for your videos, I’ll keep you updated on my progress. God bless you
Hola saludos desde argentina como te está yendo tu progreso con el violín?

Hi, my daughter is 14 and has been tuning for the past four hours. What should we do ?
If this is a new violin that has never been played, you may find it useful to visit your local violin shop to get that initial tune done for you. It hopefully will get slightly easier after that. Happy to help you if you book a lesson with me. The link is below this video in the description. 🤞🎻
Thank you for doing this. ❤️😁

I love your method of teaching. Thank you
Help!! I'm a tiny person and I can't play all the way upto the tip of the bow EVEN WITH MY WHOLE HAND STRETCHED!! 😂😂
Hi take your time to check how your violin sits on your shoulder. Try stretching your bow arm forwards as you bow. It will get easier over time. Give it 6 weeks! Good luck 🤞🎻

I’m unbelievably excited to learn how to play. I’m 30 years old and have been fascinated since I was very young.
I long await to be able to portray my emotions, as I feel that they are so intense only music can express them. I plan to let the violin show me the way! Thank you for your teachings!
Excellent! Good luck👏👏👏
Thankyou so much 💓
I couldn't make a sound when I use my bow.. please guide me ..
Use rosin!
Thank you for this video. I am heading into my 50 years and lately developed a deep longing to learn the violin and move away from the guitar. I am left handed, so I am literally just going to hold a right handed violin upside down and place it on my right shoulder. 40 years ago when I learnt the guitar, I just turned it upside down and started playin it straight away, so I thought, I will do the same with a violin and just see how I go. I will keep you posted.
In another video they told you that when you rosin your bow after that you can use a toothbrush to carefully spread the rosin in the bow for a better sound
I have never heard of that or tried it.
Thank you very much ☝️😃😃😃😃
Just leaving my comment here just incase i make a progress vid
